Chapter 111: I'm Not Alone.

Xia Sha is unaware of the transfer of shares, but Xia Qi Feng did. He found out that Guan Lin Yi suddenly offer a high price for all shares the board director owns. Xia Qi Feng got alerted by his shares manager that keeps track of the percentage. His shares manager speculates that the Guan Group wanted to acquire Xia Corporation.

However, when the legal letter of transfer shares come out, they found out Guan Lin Yi bought it under Guan Xiao Ni's name. That's mean their motive is not to acquire Xia Corporation. 

He is wondering why when he catches his daughter kissing with young master Guan. 

Then it's clear to him that Guan Lin Yi does this to support his son against the Xiao family. His father is pressuring Xia Sha with shares, so he leisurely bought 30 percent of his company. 

He felt ashamed and relieved at the same time. But isn't this getting too serious? Xia Sha and Guan Xian just started going out today, but his whole family, including Guan Lin Yi, has known about it? 

He suddenly got a headache. 

Now he knew why Xia Sha could say that she would rather sell herself to the Guan family rather than marry into Xiao's family household.

Seating on his working desk, he glances at the little girl pictured on the frame. The little girl is grinning wide, showing her white row of teeth. She looks carefree as her mother and father kiss her cheek. He sighed, the outer corner of his eyes turns red. 

"Sigh. Shen Xia Fei, we've turned old as what we imagine in the past. But we failed to keep our promises," he murmured. He feels that his heart got heavier the more he stared at the happy family portrait. 

He got so immersed in the picture that he got lost in his memories. When he realized, his cheek is wet as he holds the photo frame. Stunned with his sudden breakdown, he put back the frame and wipe away his tears. 

His story is in the past now. Like a missed opportunity, he could not go back to prevent things from happening. He only hopes her daughter wouldn't have to go through circumstances like her parents. 

After all, all he wanted for his daughter is to have a blissful life filled with happiness.

Xia Sha thought their relationship is moving too fast. Surprisingly, that did not happen. Apart from asking for a kiss now and then, they dated like an ordinary couple. 

Well, not so ordinary, because she is dating Guan Xian.

She is not even exaggerating when she cold him crazy. This man sends a KFC truck to Xia Corporation decorated with her picture hanged in the banner. There is even a tag line under her picture that says 'Happy Birthday our Ms. Xia <3!' 

If Fu Qun did not tell her about this and let her witness it with her own eyes, she would never believe this is happening to her! 

First of all, she did not even remember her birthday. 

Secondly, this event makes the employee-run from their table to the food truck during working hours. 

Third, why is gotta be a KFC?!

Hasn't she told him that KFC did not save her life?! She is so pissed right now, and this guy is smart enough to turn off his phone. Right, this guy is on the plane to Italy for his family holiday.

Lame.

"Ms. Xia, happy birthday, and thank you for your treat," a staff thanking her while showing the box he got from the truck. She nods her head and smiles out of courtesy. 

No matter where she goes, people thanking her for the fried chicken and wish her a happy birthday. Xia Sha didn't know either she should define this as silly or sweet and slightly embarrassing.

But she is sure this is unnecessary. 

Even though she wished to celebrate her birthday with him, he doesn't need to do this just because he couldn't be here.

However, because of Guan Xian's extravagant move, her father suddenly arranges a family dinner to celebrate her birthday. And when she said family dinner, that excludes Pang Ze Tian and her daughter and includes her mother!

"Mom! Dad!" 

She could not hide her happiness that bursting inside her heart.

"Oh, Xia Sha, why did you arrive so late?" her mother smiles and pulls her into a hug. 

"I know your mother is trying to blame me, so tell her the truth," Xia Qi Feng is frowning while Shen Xia Fei looks radiant. She did not have to guess that they've bickered before she arrived.

"Mom, Father asked me to go with him, but I have something to finished first," she replied and sat between her parents with a huge grin. 

"You shouldn't work so hard. Today is your birthday," Shen Xia Fei shook her head in disapproval. 

"The same reason why you should not nag her today, this is her birthday," Xia Qi Feng stands up for Xia Sha before Xia Sha could reply. 

"Who is nagging?! I'm taking care of my daughter. Why are you so fussy today?" Shen Xia Fei furrowed her eyebrow. They might start to bicker soon, so Xia Sha took a precaution and grabbed their attention. 

"This is mom's favorite restaurant, right? Dad, you've done a great job making the reservation. What should we order today?" She grabs the menu. 

"Naturally, you should eat noodle today," Shen Xia Fei said. They ordered several things they wanted and cake for Xia Sha. Right after she did, father Xia takes out something from his pocket.

Shen Xia Fei and Xia Sha is anticipating what Xia Qi Feng bought with him. How stunned they become when two velvet boxes come out from his flat suit. Still, with his laconic manner, he put one in front of Xia Sha and one at Shen Xia Fei's plate. 

"Birthday present for both of you."

Shen Xia Fei got confused, but Xia Sha opens her present right away. A modern jade bracelet appears before her eyes. It has a simple design, a thin gold chain embellished by a single jade. Her surname was engraved behind the jade, along with her birth date. 

She really likes it. 

"Dad! Thank you!" Xia Sha went to hug her father with a big grin. A rare smile appeared on Xia Qi Feng's face as he patted her head dotingly. Xia Sha used the bracelet right away before looked at Shen Xia Fei, who hasn't even touch her present yet. 

She blinked and smiles at her mother, "Mom, why don't you look at your present?" 

"Your father looks suspicious. Today is not my birthday, why did your father give me a present? I'm guessing he put cockroaches inside to pranked me," Shen Xia Fei narrowed her eyes, look at Xia Qi Feng with a cold gleam. 

Xia Qi Feng choked on his drink and looked at his ex-wife in disbelief. 

"Shen Xia Fei, I'm half a century right now! Why would I play that old prank on you?" he scoffed, furrowing his eyebrow like an angry bird. 

"Who knows? You might get older in number but growing up is a choice. You are childish and petty. Who knows what do you put inside?"

"Xia Sha! Look at your mother. Right now, who do you think is petty and childish? Not even a seventeen years old will play that prank now."

"..." 

Xia Sha: Both of you look childish to me right now, but since you two look so happy to bicker, I'll give you two time and space to do what you two liked :)

"Then you tell me, why did you give me a present?" Shen Xia Fei stares at Xia Qi Feng's eyes. Xia Sha followed her mother's eye direction and looked at her father with the same questioning look. 

Being pressured by the mother and daughter, Xia Qi Feng's face darkened. He took the present and present it to mother Shen as if it was his answer to her question. 

Inside there is a jade necklace, it has the same style as Xia Sha, but it looks more expensive and grand. But what surprised them is that Xia Qi Feng had written a card inside. He handwrote the card himself. 

'We won't be celebrating Xia Sha's birthday without you. Thank you, Xia Sha's mother'.

The message is sweet and heartwarming. Xia Sha could not believe the one who sits with her right now is her father. Shen Xia Fei also looks stunned and touched, she took the card and has a gentle smile on her beautiful face. 

"See, it's not a cockroach," Father Xia said smugly. 

Suddenly it appears to Xia Sha that she is not the only one who misses her family. Both Xia Qi Feng and Shen Xia Fei might yearn for the past as much as she does. For the first time after her parent's divorce, she felt peaceful inside. 

Hah, What a relief, I'm not alone.
