Chapter 124: Thank You For Trying

Xia Sha has open the television and sat like a proper lady when Guan Xian arrived. She is wearing her poker face that makes Guan Xian wanted to laugh. However, to ensure he did not get kicked out too early, he surpasses the urge to tease her and calmly sat beside Xia Sha. 

Xia Sha did not move when he tight touches her's. However, Guan Xian could felt her body stiffened and how she holds her breath for a second. 

"Why are you so nervous?" He narrowed his eyes and interrogated Xia Sha. 

"What??? I'm nervous?? Puff, are you kidding me? I'm not nervous," she bubbled and chuckled with hesitation and shifted her seat farther from Guan Xian subconsciously. 

Guan Xian points at her gesture and widens his eyes. 

"Look! you try to run away from me!" He pointed out the obvious. 

"Where? I did not!" Xia Sha pursed her lips and leaned her back, trying to act naturally. Guan Xian naturally won't believe such a bad lie. But he let her slipped and pretended to believe her words. 

However, he can't tolerate the distance she created. So in a swift movement, he pulled her leg to her side and made her stumble into his embrace. 

"AKH!" Xia Sha squeals because he moves too fast. She lost control over her body and ended up on his thigh with eye wide open. 

"Eh, the beauty fall on my trap, what to do?" Guan Xian teased and closed the distance between their face. Xia Sha's instinct starts to kick in as adrenaline rush to her hand. In a blink of an eye, her hand landed on his mouth as she uses force to push him back. 

"Guan Xian! You just arrived. Don't be a scoundrel!" she scolds him with her icy glare. "Moreover, have you brush your teeth before trying to kiss me? I could smell vodka on your stinky breath!" 

"Hmph! Hmph! Awawerh!" Guan Xian suffers in forced silence. But his thicked eyebrow raised, and the inner end almost meets each other, showing how great his protest at the moment. 

Xia Sha used this moment to release herself from Guan Xian. She pulls a pillow and placed it between their thigh before she pulls back her hand.

"Xia- hmph!" Xia Sha quickly covered Guan Xian's mouth again when he opened his mouth. She glares at him with a threatening gaze and quietly warned him. 

"Don't talk about this anymore. I'm going to kick you out if you did!" 

Under Xia Sha's fierce temper, Guan Xian's only option is to nod his head helplessly and shut his mouth for a moment. Xia Sha felt safer when Guan Xian turned calmer and with no expression showed on his eyebrow. 

She slowly retreated her hand before smiling sweetly at him. 

"Good boy," she patted his head like an adorable puppy. 

Affected by Xia Sha's gentle gesture, Guan Xian quickly dropped her brutality problem and smiled along with her like an obedient student. Xia Sha felt proud of herself for putting up with the crisis and handle it well. 

"I'll love you even more if you listen well~" she overplayed the noble teacher role. Guan Xian grin for a moment before a flash of rebellion appears on his iris. 

"Good boy, your head!" Guan Xian shook his head and flickered her clean forehead. If Xia Sha knew him well, she would understand he won't hold grudges for a long time. However, he does pay it back in a short time. 

"AW!" Xia Sha groaned because of the pain he caused. Xia Sha glared at him with a wronged look. 

"Haven't brush my teeth, you said? Look at this row of white teeth and fresh mint breath! I come well prepared!" He blows near Xia Sha's face a few times with an offended look. 

Xia Sha closed her eyes and made a duck mouth to cover her nose. 

"What mint breath? I can't smell anything but alcohol!" she stubbornly lied even though she could not smell anything at all. 

Guan Xian was irritated to death after hearing her lies. He strides forward to pin her to the sofa but then notices something at her neck. 

"What happen to you?" his voice turned cold instantly. 

Xia Sha is still closing her eyes as she expected Guan Xian would flicker her forehead again. Her eyelids slowly open when that pain never comes. Instead, a tingling sensation spread in her stomach when that warm hand touches her neck. 

"What happen to you?" he repeated once again and looked even scarier than before. 

"I-" Xia Sha choked and could not finish her sentence because that man has pulled her up and checked every wound she got. 

"You got this on your father's house? Who did this to you? Did Pang Ze Tian pay someone to beat you up?" 

"No! It's not like that!" Xia Sha didn't even realize she tried to protect Pang Ze Tian and Xia Xiang from this scary version of Guan Xian. But she quickly sobers up the next moment. 

"Then who?" 

"It's Xia Xiang, but-"

"I'm going to kill that bitch!"

Xia Sha went speechless for the first one minutes and burst out of laughter the next second. 

"WAHAHAHA! WHAT DID YOU SAY? KILL THAT BITCH! WHA HAHA! I'M SO SATISFIED THAT I WILLING TO DEATH!" Xia Sha laughed until her stomachache. 

"WHAT DID YOU SAY? WILLING TO DEATH?! YOU DARE TO DEATH BEFORE ME?!" Guan Xian was greatly unpleased with Xia Sha's words right now. 

Xia Sha wipes away the tear on the corner of her eyes and ignored Guan Xian's anger. She tiredly controls her breathing and calms her composure. 

"Too funny, My stomach hurt," she said and let her body fall on the soft couch. 

Guan Xian put his hand on his hip. He is tapping his feet impatiently as he glare at her. 

"Y-you! Better told me before I put you on the Dungeon of torture," Guan Xian shows his anger and wanted to be coax. But facing Xia Sha's unsteady EQ, he knew he wouldn't get his wish until he grew bread on his stomach. 

"Dungeon of torture? What is that? Is that a challenge?" She recited his words before and stuck her tongue out. She is blatantly mocking him in his face. 

Guan Xian's eyes flare open. Without any warning, he strides and trapped Xia Sha between his arm. He stares at Xia Sha, and a soft smile appears on his face. On any other occasion, it should be a comforting smile. However, in this situation... 

Xia She that she escapes from tiger cages only to fall into crocodiles' mouth. 

Originally, Guan Xian wanted to tickle Xia Sha until she gave up looking down on his threat. But her bruised neck caught his attention he undermined his intention. He falls beside her and groans frustratedly.

"Forget it. I won't bully a patient."

"This is only a small matter. It doesn't hurt anymore."

"HAHA. Even my nephew wouldn't believe that," Guan Xian answered without spare a glance at Xia Sha. He looks grumpy as he closed his eyes with his head with little pouty lips. A strong vibes that tell Xia Sha how disappointed he is at her. 

"This won't do. Tomorrow, take ten female bodyguards with you. A man couldn't beat a woman. But a woman can beat a woman," he said with a black murderous aura coming out from his body. 

"..." Can you stop saying you want to beat a woman? 

Xia Sha sighed and propped her head on her hand. 

"Xia Xiang did hurt me, but I did provoke her first. Moreover, I find her quite pitiful right now."

"Hm? why did you find her pitiful?" Guan Xian titled his head. 

"I don't know. When I see how Xia Xiang interacted with He Jin Nan, she reminds me how I long for my father and mother's love. It's weird. I always portrayed her as the girl who wanted to steal my father," Xia Sha smiles mockingly at herself.

"Turned out she is more helpless than me," she murmured and turned her head to Guan Xian. Guan Xian sees the helpless Xia Sha and couldn't help feeling his heartache for her. He smiles as his hand travels to caress Xia Sha's soft cheek. 

"Helpless doesn't mean she could beat my woman like this," He complained while checking how severe Xia Sha's bruise. Xia Sha smiled weakly and touched his hand, and rests her head on his palm. 

"Why? did you heartache for me?" 

"Hm, My head and heart ached for you." 

She tried to calm his anger by teasing him. But she forgets how straightforward Guan Xian is. There is no trace of resentment or anger in his eyes. He stares at her quietly and looking so solemn that it make Xia Sha's heart pound fast. 

Because of his strong demeanor of seriousness, she got a little bit nervous upon staring back at him. 

"Can you not do this anymore? Don't hurt yourself for any reason. Can you?" he suddenly asked. 

Xia Sha's eyelash flutters as Guan Xian stares at her intensely without batteling and eyelids. An impeccable sweetness filled the hallow inside her heart when she realized how this amazing guy cared for her. 

"I'll try," she answered. 

Guan Xian look pleased when he heard her answer. His palm on her cheek moves below to his swam-like neck. Gently, like calm water in spring, he pulled Xia Sha closer to his face. 

Their nose was touching, but no one breaks the contact on their eyes. Drowning between her hazy sight, Xia Sha felt his soft lips pressing against her. It doesn't take a long time for their tongue to greet each other respectfully. 

However, in between their silent battle, she heard him whispering, "Thank you for trying to take care of my heart." 

She went frozen for a moment before warm smiles appear on her face. 

The feeling of knowing you are loved by someone that you love was the best feeling in the world.
