Chapter 148: Save Myself

"Hello? Do you need anything? Ruan Jing Tian is away for a moment."

A girl's voice. The same familiar voice that filled his mind the whole day. Guan Xian froze. 

BANG!

The next second, his phone has shattered into pieces. It's was dramatic in his mind. He closed his eyes and found his phone was still sticking on his ear. 

"Sha Sha," he called her name gently, hoping she could recognize his voice. He controlled his breath and sat on his seat calmly.

Xia Sha, on the other hand, was quiet for a moment. 

"Guan Xian? Why did you call Ruan Jing Tian? Did something happen?" Xia Sha sounds confused. 

"Did something happen?! Does something happen?! Shouldn't I be the one who supposed to ask you that question? Did something happen that you can't pick up your phone but pick up other's man phone call?" 

Guan Xian's mind was screaming his real thought. But what comes out from his mouth is his usual caring tone. 

"Nothing happens. I can't reach you, so I figured out you will be with Ruan Jing Tian. Are you okay? Did the police did something unpleasant to you?" 

"Oh, The police take my phone as evidence. Ruan Jing Tian picked me up after I got released. We are discussing something. By the way, how can you get your phone back? Did you hide under the blanket again?" 

Guan Xian was stunned by Xia Sha's level of calmness. She just comes out of jail, he has been leaving a hint about his uncomfortable heart, and she is worried about his phone instead. 

"I did not hide under the blanket, but my whole body felt uncomfortable now," Guan Xian murmured.

"Uncomfortable? Are you sick?" 

Psycho! Xia Sha must be a psycho! How can she be this calm and collected after being framed, cursed, and almost getting fired from the job she loves? 

Guan Xian's head hurts more than his heart right now. 

"I'm not sick, but you are sick! Sha Sha, how could you act like this. You face it yourself when people framed you. You did not even tell me a word about it. I understand that Ruan Jing Tian spends more time with you. You might trust him more than you trust me. But can you at least notify me of your condition? Why did I need to learn from other people about things that happen to my girlfriend?" 

Guan Xian did not realize that he had arising his tone. He relaxed his furrowed eyebrow as Guan Xian slowly catching his breath. When he finished, he could hear Xia Sha's faint breathing and silence. 

"How could I help you if you don't allow me to help you?" He then added because Xia Sha did not answer. 

The guilty feeling starts to fill the hollow in Guan Xian's heart. He never used an angry tone at Xia Sha. It's the first time he shouted at her over the phone. The fact Xia Sha is not responding right now makes him felt sorry for her. She must be surprised upon his sudden lashed out. 

'I'm sorry that I shouted at you,' he wanted to add when Xia Sha finally opens her mouth. 

"So that is what you think of me, a weakling that couldn't save herself without you. Hah, I never ask you to help me. But if you now felt burned because you save me once, then maybe you shouldn't help me at all."

Guan Xian felt Zeus's great thunder had just stroke his heart viciously. He used to hear Xia Sha's brutal words, but he could not ignore them this time. 

"Do you think they will let you out so easily without me? Don't you realized someone powerful is pulling a string behind this whole mess?" 

The apology sentence in Guan Xian's mind evaporates into thin air. 

"Did I asked you to let me out?" Xia Sha replies come instantly. 

"So you wanted to stay in jail for a long time. Then, I apologized to you for crushing your dream!" 

"Yes! Don't you know I'm dying to spend my first night in jail? I thought you knew everything about me since you started to put your people to spy on me!" 

"Spy on you? Hahaha, you are saying I'm spying on you. Fine, I'll let you have your way. I spy on you, but why did I need to do that? Isn't that because you never tell anything to me?"

"Why do I need to tell you anything? You are not my parents. You are not God, and why are you so angry at me about that? You are not even here. I can't even call you for Godsake!" Xia Sha gritted her teeth. 

"I'm not there, but I can still help you. But you don't even think about me."

"Oh! Shut it! I have so many problems right now, and you are making my headache worsen by being dramatic. Why don't you go back to your vacation with those Italian girls and leave me alone?!" Xia Sha shouted.

Both of them were stunned by her scream.

Those faint breath comeback. Xia Sha's breathing is evenly and collected. The usually chatty Guan Xian turned muted as he clenched his hand into a hard fist. 

Both felt uncomfortable under the suffocating atmosphere between them. Xia Sha was holding into Ruan Jing Tian's phone tightly.

"Fine," he finally replied. Cold and uncaring. 

Xia Sha's heart was painful when she heard Guan Xian's tone. As if a thousand needles just pricked her. But part of her heart is boiling as Guan Xian had a hang upon her. 

She looked at the phone coldly before tossed it to the coffee table in Ruan Jing Tian's living room. 

How could I help you if you don't allow me to help you? Did he say that? Weren't the same lips is also saying that you could take care of yourself? 

Xia Sha, how can you believe a man's mouth. You should have known better!

She felt guilty and wronged at the same time. The fight with Guan Xian is overwhelming. She could not think straight at the moment. She does not even bother to hide her unhappy face when Ruan Jing Tian comes back from the small room. 

"Whoa! What with that long face?" He was surprised upon finding Xia Sha sat still as a statue with a deep frown on her face. 

Xia Sha was too annoyed and lazy to answer Ruan Jing Tian, so Ruan Jing Tian tried to try things that annoyed Xia Sha from the surrounding. 

The muted television across from her was playing the video where the police escorted Xia Sha into the police car. Ruan Jing Tian quickly take the remote control and turned off his television. 

"I told you not to open the news. Now that it had affected your mood and spread negativity on your subconscious mind, the only person who suffers from this is me!" 

Ruan Jing Tian did not dare to sit next to Xia Sha because her face looks scary this time. Xia Sha went silent for a long time before she suddenly stands up and grabs Ruan Jing Tian's phone. 

Ruan Jing Tian watched her warily when she suddenly put his phone into a bucket of ice. Ruan Jing Tian wides his eyes, he runs to save his phone. 

"WA-WAKA! What are you doing? that is my phone!" Ruan Jing Tian looked at Xia Sha as if she is a vicious murder. 

Xia Sha frowned and put back Ruan Jing Tian's phone into the bucket. Ruan Jing Tian has long forgotten Xia Sha's terrible temper like this. He was surprised and scared at the same time. 

"Don't take it! Don't ever take any phone call for him again!" she suddenly said coldly. 

Ruan Jing Tian did not understand part of her sentence, but her frantically nodding his head. 

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I Won't take it! I won't dare to take anything from the ice bucket. I won't touch this phone again!" He said as if his precious phone is a cursed tool. 

Xia Sha looked at him and nodded her head. 

"Who does he think he is? Is he as great as Jesus Christ that could save humans? Does He think that I could not get out from the jail without his help?" Xia Sha asked Ruan Jing Tian passionately.

Ruan Jing Tian's forehead flinched. His mouth is twitching, but he nods his head frantically for the second time. But this time he had realized Guan Xian is calling him and Xia Sha picked up the call. They must have fought and Xia Sha got agitated at him right now. 

It's actually a golden opportunity for him. 

"Yes! You can definitely save yourself. You did not need him at all. How can she underestimate you like that? Tsk, you should not date that kind of arrogant man. Who knew how highly he thinks about himself. It disgusted me!" 

Xia Sha glare at Ruan Jing Tian and snap her finger. 

"Brilliant! That is what I should do! I should show him that I will save myself!" Xia Sha suddenly run to picked up her things in the couch and leave Ruan Jing Tian on the big apartment. 

"???" 

"WAIT! XIA SHA THAT IS DANGEROUS! LET ME ACCOMPANY YOU!" Ruan Jing Tian shouted and try to catch up with Xia Sha.

"NO! I NEED TO DO THIS MYSELF" She shouted back and disappear before he could even see her back. 

Ruan Jing Tian : "...." What did I do?
