Chapter 199: Jing Tian, I Need To Go Somewhere

In amidst of her thinking, Guan Xian realized something important that he might miss. He carefully drove as he glances at Xia Sha. In contrast to the emotional and defensive persona she had in the past, she looks calm and toned down a lot right now. 

Guan Xian is complementing to give out everything to Xia Sha. But he bares not to when he saw her tired face. 

"Xia Sha, you don't need to pretend you aren't sad just because I'm," Guan Xian said in a soft voice. He stretched out his arm and touched the top of her head. 

Xia Sha turned to Guan Xian with a silent smile. Her hand reached for his hand. Quietly she intertwined their finger together, transferring heat from each other bodies. 

"How is Xiao Ni?" she asked, trying to divert Guan Xian's attention from her. She did not want added her burden to Guan Xian's problem at this time. 

Guan Xian had a resistant smile on his face as Xia Sha asked about Xiao Ni. His whole body suddenly tensed as he recalls Wang Kai's voice on his mind. There is a strong urges to tell Xia Sha the secret his family had been hiding, but those words got stuck on her tongue. 

He could not let it out. Not now. 

"The doctor said she would wake up this week. We did not know what will happen, but let hope for the best," Guan Xian mutters as he carefully chooses his words.

The differences in his tone and gesture are so visible that Xia Sha could see that he hides something almost immediately. Although it makes her felt uneasy for a moment that he could not tell her, she respected his choice. So she nods her head and mumbles, "Of course I will." 

Both of them did not speak again that night. The two of them that hides something from each other. It's so oblivious, yet no one wants to bring it up.

Guan Xian walked her to her apartment door. When Xia Sha turned her back with her bright smiles as she bid her goodbye, Guan Xian suddenly grabs her wrist by his arm. Xia Sha could felt an unusual heat transfer on her neck as he weighted his head in her shoulder. 

"Xiao Ni- she had a traumatic event in the past. The doctor said that the accident is too painful that her brain chooses to forget it. Or it might be my parent's successful attempts at hypnotherapy. That time was-"

Guan Xian felt her throat burning as the memories filled his mind. He surpassed his cowardice and tried to finish his sentence. 

"It was dreadful. Xiao Ni could not eat or talk. She just stared at the wall blankly all day longs. Could you imagine? Xiao Ni and her personalities before suddenly become a living statue?" Guan Xian said and laughed dryly. 

Xia Sha was stunned when she heard his story. She could felt Guan Xian's abnormally slow heartbeat as she had her hand placed on his muscular chest. He could hear and see the fear and terror inside Guan Xian right now. 

"The accident had triggered her memories. I'm afraid she will turn like that Xiao Ni in the past," Guan Xian whispered the last words on Xia Sha's ear. He sounds weak and debilitated. 

"It's not that I don't want to tell you this, but it's hard for me to re-live in that time. Please don't take one step back from me. I work so hard to make you open up to me."

Xia Sha is rendered speechless by Guan Xian's sudden exclamation. He thought she spilled nothing of her thought because he keeps secrets from him. That is rather absurd in Xia Sha's opinion. But she could understand why Guan Xian could think that way. 

Xia Sha suddenly sighed and patted Guan Xian's back as if he is a sleepy baby. 

"Hey, I think I've been passive for too long this time that you began to take me as a boring woman. Just because I did not tell you everything does not mean I did not trust you. It's because I knew that I could solve this myself," Xia Sha grumble with feigning anger. 

"And can you get away from me? For your information, your head is heavy."

Guan Xian broke into smiles after hearing Xia Sha's explanation. He squared his shoulder and cleared his throat. 

"Then, can I-" Guan Xian raised his eyebrow and pointed at the apartment indirectly. 

Xia Sha widens her eyes and throws a sharp glance at Guan Xian. With an eyebrow furrowed up, she raised her hand and flicked Guan Xian's flawless forehead. 

"Aw!" Guan Xian groaned in pain.

"You must be sick!" Her lips twitched as Guan Xian pretending that her little flicker had wounded him.

First of all, how can he go from melancholy to lewd in a split of a second?

Second of all, she did not use much strength. Considering Guan Xian had thick skin and skull, that hit should not be a problem.

"That is right. I am sick. That is why I need your care tonight," Guan Xian stared sheepishly at Xia Sha. His pair of big mischievous eyes are pleading for her agreement. 

Xia Sha's orbs turned pensive as she clicked her tongue in annoyance. She ignored Guan Xian and put on her passcode. As she about to enter, she suddenly turned to Guan Xian, tiptoed, and peck his lips. 

"That is your medicine tonight! Bye!" She said and rushed inside the apartment at the same time. 

Guan Xian was stunned at the door slammed on his face. His eyes suddenly look amused and irked at the same time. He shook his head slowly before he walked back to his car with a low hum and smile. 

When he about to start his car engine, someone suddenly knocked on his window car. Guan Xian takes his time to observe people outside and is surprised when he realized it was Xia Sha's step-sister, Xia Xiang. 

Rolling down his window car, he coldly glances at her. 

"Young Master Guan, I need to talk to you. It's about my mother!" she said with eyes of terror and trembling voices. Guan Xian furrows his brow and complementing for a while. After a moment, he said something to Xia Xiang before she gets into the back seat of the car.

The next day, Xia Sha went to visit Kai Xin the first thing in the morning. Ruan Jing Tian was still staying there to take care of Kai Xin, who is speeling peacefully right now. She stands next to Xia Sha's bed while listening to Ruan Jing Tian's explanation of the current operation.

"She cried the whole night," Ruan Jing Tian sighed as he looked at Xia Sha with his tired eyes. 

Xia Sha looked at Kai Xin's solemn face as she breathes evenly. Pulling up the blanket to Kai Xin's chest, Xia Sha said to Ruan Jing Tian, "You should go home now. I'll take care of her." 

"Uncle and Aunty are on their way. I'll wait a little longer."

Xia Sha did not force Ruan Jing Tian to go as she also needs someone to keep her mind sane. Her fingertips tremble as she watched tears dropping in the corner of Kai Xin's eyes. 

That little tear is enough to make Xia Sha's heart filled with guilt and remorse. 

She bares not to bring herself to wipe away Kai Xin's tears as she felt she is the cause of this disaster. Xia Sha averted her gaze from Kai Xin and turned to Ruan Jing Tian. 

"Jing Tian, I need to go somewhere. Will you accompany me?" Xia Sha asked with strong determination in her eyes, how could Ruan Jing Tian refuse her request? 

Thus the two of them ride Xia Sha's car after Kai Xin's parents come. Ruan Jing Tian wanted to ask where Xia Sha desire to go, but then he watched Xia Sha put on location to her car GPS. 

Capital City Prison.

Ruan Jing Tian did not object, nor did he said a word as Xia Sha began to increase the car speed. He did not need to spare a glance to understand that it's the way Xia Sha vent her frustration and anger. 

When they arrived at their destination, both of them had vengeful glances and dark faces. Xia Sha glances coldly at her wristband before she opens the door and slams it hard. 

"I'll talk to Tan Kun," Ruan Jing Tian suddenly said as he followed Xia Sha's steps from behind. 

"Why do you need to talk to that disgusting man?" Xia Sha furrowed her eyebrow. Just images of that fat man with rotten teeth make her shudder in nausea. 

"I had my suspicion," Ruan Jing Tian did not want to spill everything out for Xia Sha. Not when they stand in front of the jail. 

"Okay, but join me later. I need to you drain Pang Ze Tian's emotion," Xia Sha said as she coldly enters the building.

She forced open her eyes and looked at the night scene before her. 

"If I found out that Pang Ze Tian behind this matter again, I swear I won't let her live a happy day for the rest of her life. Not even one day," Xia Sha's cold voice sound as sharp and piercing as the cold night.

"Pang Ze Tian needs to pay for Kai Xin's baby if it's her," she added. 

Guan Xian felt chills creeping on his arms, but a mocking smile rose on his face. 

"Do you think I would let her get away after all the things she had done to you? Don't get too agitated, don't worry, I'll make sure she would not live a happy life from now on," Guan Xian tried to coed Xia Sha. He did not want her to drain her energy for Pang Ze Tian. 

Xia Sha listens to Guan Xian and nods her head slightly. She then started to talk about Xia Xiang's surprising finds out about Pang Ze Tian. From the cooperation between her and Meng Ran to the cheating scandal. 

"I never thought she could be this- mindblowing," Xia Sha said with a flat tone as she keeps watching the scenery outside the car. 

"I don't know what makes her so obsessed with my family and why it has to be mine? And how could she hurt Kai Xin when we've put her behind the bar?" She probed the question with her tired mind. 

"Why do you think it's Pang Ze Tian?" Guan Xian raised his eyebrow as he concentrates on the road. He would rather know that it's probably Pang Ze Tian, but he just wanted to knew why Xia Sha could come to that speculations. 

"I don't know. Xia Xiang's confession makes me think she did not like Kai Xin carrying Yan Xi's baby. It just my guts," Xia Sha murmured as she watched each street's lamps passed by with no spirit. 

"Anyway, what will you do to Wen Rou? We would not possibly hold her captive until she grew old and die, can't we?" Xia Sha heard herself sound so resolute. So she added the last questions. 

Guan Xian grinned and tilted his head at Xia Sha. 

"Why can't we? We could do that if you want," he teased. 

Xia Sha rolls her eyes and ignores Guan Xian. So Guan Xian decided to tell her the real situation about Wen Rou. 

"Her father had begun to question her disappearance. It won't be too long before he got into contact with us. When he did, we will see what he can offers." 

Guan Xian's reply makes Xia Sha let out a long sigh. She raised her finger and knocked the window gently, creating a random beat. Guan Xian looks at the tired soul and smiles weakly at her. 

It's not like he did not know what Xia Sha is doing right now. She had tried her best to hide her sadness and emotion because she knew he is facing the same things. But Guan Xian did not lose her sister, and Xia Sha did lose her nephew. 

This thorny girl is silly for pretending to be okay and tried to put a strong appearance on him. But it sweets, as sweet as her saying that she would stand by his side through thick and thin. 

He knew her action speaks louder than her words. 

Xia Sha did not have to say she will not leave him, she just has to show it through her actions. 

And she did.
