Chapter 230: Hi, I Didn't See You There.

"Xia Qi Feng?" 

The voice makes his heart warm after gaining his senses from surprise. A furrow in his brow appear as soon a beautiful smiles bloom on that woman's face. 

"Why are you still here? Weren't you-" Xia Qi Feng looked towards the road direction then back to the woman on his car side. 

"I forgot my purse inside. What about you? I thought you have an emergency-" Shen Xia Fei didn't finish her sentence as she squinted her eyes at Xia Qi Feng. There is clear doubt written on her face as she observed Xia Qi Feng. 

Xia Qi Feng got dumbstruck. As if he just gets caught red-handed by Shen Xia Fei. He tried to clear his throat and played with his steering wheel to gain his composure as he tried to find a reasonable excuse. 

"I- I forgot my wallet."

Xia Qi Feng's face darkened as he realized his lame excuses. Shen Xia Fei holds on to her laughter as she nods her head and goes along with Xia Qi Feng's lies. There is a moment of silence as both of them look at each other. 

"So-"

"So-" 

Shen Xia Fei shook her head and giggles away. She decided to finish her words as Xia Qi Feng look at her with an amused expression. 

"I wanted to say, don't get too sad. Your might felt like someone stole your daughter away from you, but I'm sure you will be forever in Xia Sha's heart." 

"..." Xia Qi Feng wants to ask why Shen Xia Fei assumes so? Does he look so miserable that everyone could point it out?

"It's written all over your face, worry less. I'll go first," Shen Xia Fei patted's his shoulder as she prepared to head back to her car. 

"Wait! I-" Xia Qi Feng subconsciously shouted and tried to stop Shen Xia Fei from leaving him. Shen Xia Fei turned her back and waited for him to deliver his message, but then Xia Qi Feng got tongued tied. 

"Yes?" she raised her eyebrow as she patiently waits. 

"That, about my request last time, let's forget it and pretend I never said it before," Xia Qi Feng said with a hint of embarrassment. He didn't know how those words rolled out from his tongue, but he only wants to steal some time with Shen Xia Fei right now. 

Shen Xia Fei went silent for two seconds before she picks up her smile and nods her head. As if she had no regrets or burdens, she said, "Well, I already did." 

"Mom? What are you doing here?" 

Xia Sha's voice rang from a distance as she approached Shen Xia Fei with Guan Xian on her side. Xia Qi Feng message his temple as he tried to control his expression. When Xia Sha arrived and look at him, Xia Qi Feng raised his hand and repeated his lame excuse, "I left my wallet." 

"Mom?" Xia Sha turned to Shen Xia Fei. 

"I left my purse," Shen Xia Fei raised her purse and shrugged her shoulder when Xia Sha looks at her with a doubtful expression. 

"What about you? Why did you come back again?" Xia Qi Feng returned the question to Xia Sha. 

"Oh! I lost my ring. We come back to find it," Xia Sha hissed as her face darkened. She glances at Guan Xian and frowns in disappointment at herself. 

"Aiya, how could you be so careless? You should find it now before someone takes it," Shen Xia Fei rushed them as she looks worried and anxious. She took a glance at Guan Xian, who looks helpless. 

Xia Sha listens to her mother's advice and nods her head frantically before she runs back inside the restaurant. She didn't realize the weird atmosphere between her parents and left Guan Xian in the middle of it. Guan Xian felt like giving a lecture for his future wife to be more considerate of her parents. 

"Mom, Dad, I'll go with Xia Sha. You could continue your conversation," Guan Xian said with a hint to Xia Qi Feng. He shows his sly grin before he said something to got Shen Xia Fei and Xia Qi Feng speechless.

Xia Qi Feng often wonders how could his exceptional daughter fall for Guan Xian in the first place. Sure Guan Xian had his glorious title and a charming personality, but they were heaven and earth different. While Xia Sha could be very dense on some matters, Guan Xian sees things too clearly. It frightened him sometimes. 

His words left Xia Qi Feng and Shen Xia Fei in even more awkward positions where he couldn't say anything to stop Shen Xia Fei leave. With a low sigh, Xia Qi Feng watch Shen Xia Fei left for the second time while trying not to curse his future son-in-law. 

However, Xia Qi Feng didn't have to do anything, for Karma has instantly applied to Guan Xian. No one knew how a coincidental event happens, but often, those coincident could screw up someone's life. And apparently, Guan Xian is facing one of those days in his life right now. 

He could see how fucked up he got when Xia Sha suddenly stormed out from the bathroom with an upset frown on her sweet face. And before Guan Xian could ask her the reason between those upside-down smiles, another woman gracefully slipped out from the bathroom. 

Out of so many restaurants in Capital City, Xia Sha had to meet Ye Zhen Zhen! Why?!

"Darling, have you found the ring?" Guan Xian tried to pretend he didn't see Ye Zhen Zhen as he turned his eyes to Xia Sha almost instantly. He tried to change the topic while walking out of this restaurant without having a conversation with Ye Zhen Zhen because that seems the only way to keep his life and love safe. 

Xia Sha indifferently raised her hand. A sparkle on her ring finger makes Guan Xian relieve as he put his shoulder around Xia Sha's shoulder. He didn't see a bullet coming when Ye Zhen Zhen called his name from behind. 

"Guan Xian? You are here with Xia Sha? Have you two had your dinner?" Those friendly tones sound harmless as she poses a beautiful smile. 

Ye Zhen Zhen, wearing a seducing black mini dress, looks elegant as she took two neat steps closer to Guan Xian and Xia Sha. Guan Xian could felt Xia Sha took a deep breath. He knew she tried to returned the same amount of friendliness to Ye Zhen Zhen.

"Hi, I didn't see you there. Yes, we've our dinner already. What about you? Are you here with your boyfriend?" Guan Xian played the dumb game as he put his hand around Xia Sha's waist. 

The smile on Ye Zhen Zhen's face froze for a moment before she nods her head. Her gaze falls on Xia Sha's tiny waist for a long time as she asked another question, "I was in the bathroom when I found Xia Sha's ring. You must be worried to lost something so precious! I won't be this calm if I ever lost my engagement ring." 

The remarks weighted heavily on Xia Sha's ears and heart. Xia Sha felt like boiling water inside a pot, ready to shake the lids open as she watched Ye Zhen Zhen's chuckling. Her venomous tongue ready to slaps Ye Zhen Zhen on her face, but then Guan Xian took her chance to reply. 

"It's one of her perks that I love! I'm sorry to hear that you would felt regretful if you lost your engagement ring. I don't want Xia Sha to feel that way. Babe, that is inconsiderate of me. You should know that I could buy a ring for you every day, but I could never buy you happiness." 

Both Ye Zhen Zhen and Xia Sha got dumbfounded upon listening to Guan Xian's answer, Especially when he said those long sentences without a pause but still looking calm as he smiles at Xia Sha. 

There is satisfaction feeling burgeoning inside Xia Sha's heart as she analyses Guan Xian's word. She covertly raised a thumb for Guan Xian when she watches a smile disappear from Ye Zhen Zhen's face. Ye Zhen Zhen is not a dumb woman either. She must've known what meaning Guan Xian wanted to deliver as he pulls Xia Sha closer to him. 

There is a layer of sadness and regret as she poses a faint smile to Guan Xian. She nodded her head slightly as she mumbles awkwardly, "That's sweet of you. Xia Sha, you are a lucky girl."

Xia Sha tastes the sweetness of the victory without spending any energy to fight. Naturally, she felt delighted and choose to take Ye Zhen Zhen's words as a compliment. 

"I knew, right?" She proudly said as she holds Guan Xian's arm. 

Guan Xian winked at Xia Sha while Xia Sha grinned at him. They pretend not to see Ye Zhen Zhen's pale face as she weirdly look at them. 

"Zhen Zhen, it's getting late. We are leaving now. Thank you for your help!" Xia Sha turned to Ye Zhen Zhen and deliberately showed her ring to Ye Zhen Zhen. 

Ye Zhen Zhen nodded her head and watch Guan Xian and Xia Sha walk away from them. 

"Xia Sha, you should enjoy your time because it's not going too long," she mumbles as she watches Xia Sha's back from the corner of her eyes. The smile on her face turned into an ugly frown as soon as Guan Xian and Xia Sha went out of her sight.. With a cold gaze and clenched fist, she went back to her seat with a determined heart.
