Chapter 66: Should I Eat The Poison And Die Here, Now?

Guan Xian walks to Jian Jun's waiting room with a devastated face. The words 'Brokenhearted' is written clearly on his forehead as he slumped to the couch. 

There are Xiao Ni, Wang Kai, and Ji Cun Xi chatting in the room when Guan Xian appears and draw their attention to him. They watched him vent his anger on a cushion where he buried his face and groan loudly. 

They looked at each other while raising their eyebrow. Xiao Ni is the first one to approach Guan Xian and pull the cushion from his brother. She looks at him fiercely as she asked, "What happen to you?"

Guan Xian snatched back his cushion and did not answer her question. Xiao Ni is surprised when she saw his tensed jawline and awful expression. If Xiao Ni knew Guan Xian did not dote her so much, she wouldn't dare to snatch back the cushion and hit his arm with it. 

"Don't be a jerk and tell me what've you done?" She furrowed her eyebrow. Guan Xian's eyes were bleak when their eyes meet. The two siblings look at each other fiercely. 

"How can you conclude it's me?" He looks upset and angry at the same time. Xiao Ni's heart went soft for her brother, but she toughs up her face. 

How can she know it's him? It's simple. She just asked what did Wang Kai said to Guan Xian, so he did not even stand from himself when Meng Ran claimed they have a close relationship. 

Wang Kai went on telling her about the push and pull nonsense that she could not understand. 

"You two liken chasing a woman with a car race! How right can you be?" Xiao Ni's nose wrinkles up as she shot Wang Kai a glare. 

Wang Kai shrugged his shoulder and defended himself. "It works for me."

Xiao Ni: "..." Fine, you win... 

Xiao Ni gave up scolding Wang Kai because it's impossible. She sat beside Guan Xian and look at him with a serious face. "Do you like her that much?" she asked. 

Guan Xian stares at Xiao Ni's clear eyes. Xiao Ni sounds very serious that Guan Xian starts to find her words convincing. He fakes a cough and nods his head slightly.

"Then why don't you clear your statues with Meng Ran just now?" She still pissed off at Guan Xian for not said anything when Meng Ran shamelessly claim he is close with her. 

"He still needs that file on Meng Ran's hand. The Xiao family wanted to used Xia Sha against us. Thus asked Ling Guang to sabotage Xia Corporation's next product. Inside is the evidence." Wang Kai helps Guan Xian answering Xiao Ni's question. 

"One who stands straight doesn't fear a crooked shadow." Guan Xian murmured.

Xiao Ni is quite surprised her brother has gone to help Xia Sha to that length. She sighed and took a deep breath. "Okay, it's one clear point you have. Good starts. The next things you want to figure out if her feelings for you, do you think she likes you too?" 

"Sometimes, I think she likes me. Sometimes, I think she hates me. Sometimes I think she only uses me." Guan Xian answer Xiao Ni's question with no doubt. The emotional roller coaster Xia Sha makes him rides are overwhelming. 

Xiao Ni rolls her eyes at the last sentence. "You let her uses you?" Wang Kai raised his eyebrow in disapproval this time. 

"I told you, he is so whipped," Ji Cun Xi commented. 

"Don't be a jerk and shut up!" Xiao Ni snapped at the two-man sitting on her opponent. Xiao Ni turns to Guan Xian again and raised her index finger. Guan Xian looks and listens to his sister intently. 

"First of all, you need to understand her situation. She just got out from a toxic relationship where her almost fiancee cheated on her with such a stupid woman. If I were her, I would want to kill myself too." Xiao Ni went silent after, giving time for Guan Xian to proceed with her words. 

Ji Cun Xi, on the other hand, trying hard to surpass his laughter when he watched Wang Kai's face went dark. Sure enough, she is consoling his brother and still manages to insinuate Wang Kai indirectly. 

"Well, she agreed to go on a date with me. I thought she is ready to open her heart? Also, didn't she just wanted to test me like what Wang Kai said. That is why she pushes and pulls this relationship." Guan Xian frowned. Don't tell her she wanted to use him as a rebound. The thought makes his stomach boils. 

Xiao Ni rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue. "You listen to him?"

Wang Kai look lost and once again said, "It works for me." 

Guan Xian's nose flares up and he looked at Wang Kai with a sulking face. "I should have known. Why would I listen to someone with lower EQ than me." 

Ji Cun Xi's laugh and Wang Kai's scoffing could be heard from behind. "At least Xiao Ni likes me back." Wang Kai said nonchalantly. 

"Hey, Xia Sha likes me too!" Guan Xian got unconfidence at the end of his words. Thus he adds, "A little bit." 

Xiao Ni thinks her brother is abducted by an alien right now. God knows what Xia Sha said to his pitiful brother, who went from narcissistic to insecure like this. She decided to moves on to the second point to help her brother.

"Okay. Forget to Wang Kai's heresy and listen to me, the second point." Xiao Ni makes two signs with her slender finger and patted Guan Xian's shoulder.

"Eits! She might have a crush on you... are quite handsome and charming." Xiao Ni said the sweet before the bitter words for Guan Xian to hear. 

"But did she likes you enough to be with you against all the odds? I don't think so." Xiao Ni flung her blonde hair to the back. Wang Kai leaned into Ji Cun Xi and whisper to him. 

"Take some notes," he said. 

"I won't settle down!" Ji Cun Xi scoffed hard. 

"I see you are next," Wang Kai smirked while Ji Cun Xi's eyes twitched.

Guan Xian is sitting on the couch, replaying and thinking about Xiao Ni's words. He slowly picks his spirit up after Xia Sha crushed it with her venomous tongue. 

"Well, What if I tell you I only use you for business?" He knew she is clearly lying. But he just doesn't understand why she didn't want to be honest with him. But he does understand her a little bit right now. 

You might like someone, but do you like her/him enough to fight the world to be with them? 

For him, he did like her more than he ever like another woman before. But again, he had nothing to lose to be with her. But it's not the same with Xia Sha. Guan Xian went silence in his thinking chair. 

"Okay google, tell Wang Kai 11 Things That Are More Important Than Dating, Love and Marriage," Ji Cun Xi's voice rang through the room alongside with Xiao Ni's anger and Wang Kai's cold, piercing cursing at Ji Cun Xi.

Xia Sha lowered her gaze to the ongoing show downstairs. The cold temperature from the central air conditioner did not bother her even though she is wearing a strapless gown. Her face is cold, colder than her surrounding. 

There is nothing change on her beautiful face except her little swollen lips and red palm.

She bottled all these tormenting feelings to herself. She ignores the emptiness when Guan Xian walks away from the balcony. 

'It's okay. It's only a stupid crush. You will get over it soon.' She repeated those magic words to herself. Hoping it could at least ease the hollowness raising on her heart. 

"Xia Sha?" A soothing voice surprised her from behind. Xia Sha turns her body around and found Zheng Shuang standing on the door alone. 

Xia Sha shows a faint smile as Zheng Shuang slowly walks to approach her. "I see Senior Guan Xian coming out furiously. You two fought?" She asked carefully.

"He was furious?" Xia Sha raised her eyebrow. Xia Sha did not know why she needs to listen to a confirmation from Zheng Shuang when she already knew he will be furious after what she said to him.

"Furious, frustrated, brokenhearted?" Zheng Shuang grin and nudge Xia Sha with her elbow gently. Xia Sha pressed her lips and sighed silently. 

"Are you two trying to recreate Romeo and Juliet, modern version?" Zheng Shuang teases Xia Sha, who broke into a grin this time. 

"Should I eat the poison and die here, now?"

"Whoa, I don't know you two are that seriously in love." Zheng Shuang faked a surprised look and covered her mouth with her hand. Xia Sha snorted and pursued her lips. 

"I just rejected the guy, don't I? Is this face full of love?" Xia Sha asks sarcastically. 

"You look callous and cold as usual. I can't even see what are you scheming right now. Wait! Is making Senior Guan Xian attracted to you is also a scheme??" Zheng Shuang did not even breathe as she asks. 

"No, I haven't make a scheme in these two years." She answers and decided to avoid the latter questions. Xia Sha brushes her perfectly drawn eyebrow gently. She could not bring herself to said she really had a crush on Guan Xian to Zheng Shuang.

"So you do like him." Zheng Shuang said casually. "Well, that's sad. I thought we could be sisters-in-law." 

"Let's not talk about that. The future is pretty unclear. There's a lot of cases where people did not marry their fiancee. Or he might cheated on you." Xia Sha wiggles her eyebrow as she teased Zheng Shuang. She cleverly shifted the attention to Zheng Shuang.

"That is mean.." Zheng Shuang makes a duck face, while Xia Sha laughed at her.
