The status of the Corean-Japanese war was being broadcasted across the world in real-time, thanks to the technological development of broadcast media. The main reports from the news outlets were about how both nations poured out their cruise missiles towards each other after the war began, but only Japan had sustained heavy damages. As if to back up these claims, the foreign news reporters sent in footage and pictures of Japan that now had been turned into a living hell.
A few nations, however, looked at the war with a biased view and called Corea a war-like nation that could potentially lead the world into the third world war, while claiming President Suh Hyun-Woo was using the war against Japan to only lengthen his time in office. These nations were Taiwan and Thailand, which were always friendly towards Japan, and other nations from the African continent.
The large screen TV inside the president’s office was split into many screens to show the numerous types of news being broadcasted across the world. Since the screen was showing multiple broadcasts, the sound was off but everything being reported was showing up as captions.
“Mr. President! There still seems to be nations that are unable to see the world’s affairs correctly and about our war against Japan.”
Vice President Kim Yeo-Jung looked at the upsetting foreign news channels on TV and spoke while furrowing her brow.
“Ha ha ha, I suppose each nation will see things differently based on their relationship with our two nations, will they not?”
“Even if that is the case, isn’t Taiwan going too far? We have taught their enemy, China a lesson, didn’t we? Despite all that, they are calling us a war-like nation.”
“Taiwan is a nation of the Han people, aren’t they? I am sure Taiwan was smiling on the surface after China had lost the war, but I am sure they were highly upset.”
“You think so?”
“Even for a simple football game, the citizens of South Korea always cheered for the players from North Korea. Isn’t that how things are?”
“Is that true? They cheered for North Korea?”
“Well, of course. Why wouldn’t they? We are the same people. Ha ha ha.”
“Ah! Of course, sir.”
“Judging by your expression, I suppose North Korea didn’t do the same? Hahaha.”
“No, of course not.”

Tokyo, Japan, Prime Minister’s Cabinet Emergency Situation Center
Prime Minister Abe, who had avoided the first fierce stages of the war with the excuse of being exhausted, was being reported to about the status of the war and the damages from last night at his temporarily built office.
The thing that upset him the most was the fact that the Yasukuni shrine had been wiped cleanly off the map. After being reinstated as a normal nation, he had visited the shrine three to four times a year despite the protests from other nations. He could not believe the Yasukuni shrine that was the symbol of the nation’s imperialism had vanished without a trace after being attacked by Corea’s missiles.
Also, six J/FPS-5 radar bases that had been in charge of the anti-air nets across Japan were installed after spending 1.8 billion yen. However, five of the radar bases were all turned into a pile of scrap from only the first wave of attacks, and many defensive forces besides the J/FPS-3 ones had sustained heavy damages. To put it bluntly, Japan’s anti-air net had been rendered near useless.
However, it was too early to despair. The Ioka J/FPS-5 radars were still operational and there were still E-767 early warning planes with the upgraded RSIP radars, 13 E-2C planes, and 12 PE-1 radar planes that used the P1 anti-stealth plane radars. There were also 12 PE-1 early warning system planes equipped with the latest technology. Besides the air force’s equipment, the navy still had 5 Aegis destroyers and other remaining forces being trained by the American navy for operating their borrowed equipment.
“Those damn Josenjins have turned our entire nation into a living hell, and we weren’t able to land a single missile at them?”
Prime Minister Abe, whose eyes flashed with anger, stifled his rage and asked.
“It seems Corea’s anti-air net is considerably more powerful than we expected, sir.”
“Is that all you can say for yourself?”
“I am sorry, sir!”
“I don’t want to hear an apology; I want you to give me a strategy to pierce through the Corean’s defensive net and attack them. Do you know how much we have spent on the defense bill over the past 5 years? It’s over 8.5 trillion yen. Over 8.5 trillion yen… Where did all that money go?”
After being reinstated as a normal nation, Japan had spent 1.5 trillion yen for the defensive bill. Each year they raised the budget by 5% and it rose up to 1.87 trillion yen by 2020. Truthfully the joint military command was unable to use the money carefully and in an organized manner. Most of the purchases were the American weapons Prime Minister Abe managed to get the approval for purchase after kissing the American’s rears. The weapons were high in quality in relation to the spending, but due to the costs, the numbers were low.
The defense budget had been used haphazardly under the prime minister’s lead, and now that the blame was laid on the military commanders, the statement the prime minister made had offended the joint military command’s generals.
“Prime Minister Abe, sir!”
“Yes, do speak up.”
Joint Military Commander Masaki Hajime stepped forward in a disciplined manner and spoke in a determined tone.
“Our military had only been dealt a single blow from the start of the war, but the rest of our forces are still standing, sir.”
The joint military commander spoke in a firmer tone towards Prime Minister Abe, answering coldly.
“We would like to amend our previously established strategy and retaliate, sir.”
“Do you think that’s possible?”
“Sir! This is just the beginning. I would like to beg you to keep watching our progress while you keep your vigilance.”
Prime Minister Abe was a sheepish man that befit his appearance. He acted as if he was a wounded man in battle based on the results of the first battle.
“All right. I will put my faith in you, joint commander. Now, please continue the report about our damages.”

Tokyo, Japan, Yokota base
The Yokota air force base was located in Tokyo province’s Fussa area. The U.S armed forces in Japan, America’s 5th fighter wing, and Japan’s own air force were stationed there. The base was a joint military runway that had been excluded from being targeted by Corea during the missile attacks.
On the 12th of last month, Prime Minister Abe had visited America, and the USSC had decided to enter into a substitutional war against Corea by using Japan. The American government had decided to watch the war with a neutral stance, but internally, the U.S government lent out their military facilities and equipment to the Japanese defense forces while training them on how to use the borrowed equipment. The Yokota air force base was busy training pilots on how to fly the 24 F-22 Raptor fighter jets and 4 B-1B Lancer bombers.
Based on the current situation, Japan was at a significant advantage. Corea was concerned about involving the U.S in the war as its enemy. To prevent this, it had declared all American military bases as neutral territory based on their previous agreement and excluded all of them from their list of targets. However, based on the military agreement between Japan and America, Japan was able to operate the American bases as if they were its own. When the war broke out, all of Japan’s airplanes had been moved to the American military bases to prepare for Corea’s aerial strikes. In short, there were areas that Corea was aware of military activity occurring, but was unable to attack.
Woooooosh~
Two B-1B Lancer bombers were emitting flames from its powerful engine on the runway and preparing for take-off. The pilot was not an American, but a Japanese one under Japan’s air force.
The B-1B Lancer tactical bomber was dubbed as the “world’s fastest bomber” and it befits its reputation for it could travel at Mach 2 speed, double the speed of sound, and reach Seoul from the Yokota base within 30 minutes. The bomber was also capable of carrying a load of 34 tons, while the exterior and the plane’s body itself weighed 27 tons. It was capable of loading 24 rounds of 2,000lb MK-84 bombs, 84 rounds of 500lb MK-82 bombs, and 24 guided GBU-31 bombs. With two Lancer bomber’s firepower, it was more than enough to wipe out Seoul from the map.
The B-1B Lancer’s power was well known from the 2001 Afghanistan operations when 40% of the bombs dropped by the U.S forces were from using six of these bomber planes.
The two Japanese air force pilots and weapons operators began to take off from the runway under the supervision of the American instructors. The planes opened up its variable wings and flew into the sky.

Ganakawa Prefecture, Yokosuka Port, Japan
The first escorting fleet’s naval base was stationed at Yokosuka Port, and this area was also excluded from the list of targets during Corea’s missile attacks. Since America’s 7th fleet was stationed here, they were excluded from the attacks as well.
Therefore, unlike the other naval bases that took heavy losses when the ballistic missile attacks began after the start of the war, the 1st escorting fleet’s vessels were unscathed and able to maintain their forces.
In the meantime, at the seas near Yokosuka Port, the 7th fleet’s four Zumwalt class stealth destroyers were sailing along while maintaining their formation. There were more crew onboard compared to usual, which exceeded the allotted number of persons. Half of the crew onboard were the commanders and soldiers of the Japanese navy.
Since the 20th of last month, Japan had borrowed the four Zumwalt class destroyers in secret, and the Japanese navy was undergoing training. Veteran commanders and soldiers were selected to undergo training, so everyone was quickly learning the operating methods of the vessels.

Jeonbook Gunsan-si, the 38th Fighter Wing Air Force Base
The 38th fighter wing air force base at Gunsan had 12 CF-21P phoenix fighter jets and CF/A-25P black phoenix bombers preparing for take-off at the runway.
The 24 fighter jets were lined up and waiting for the control tower’s order for take-off while emitting blue flames from their twin C-PTZ plasma engines.
When the order for take-off came from the control tower, the CF-21P phoenix jet at the head of the formation shot forward and flew into the air. After a few minutes, all the jets from the 38th fighter wing were flying south while maintaining their formation.
It only took a few minutes for the jets to fly past Gwangju, and the 12 CF/A-25P black phoenix bombers that had taken off from the 1st fighter wing joined them. There were now 36 jets in total with a mix of CF-21P fighter jets and CF/A-25P black phoenix bombers. Lieutenant Colonel Hong Won-jin, who was the superior officer, lead the flight wing. The jets raised their altitude up to 25km and began to go into supercruise.
The jets were now flying at nearly Mach 6.5 that matched the speed of most air-to-air missiles and flew past the Corean seas. Soon they reached Japan’s skies.
The 36 phoenix and black phoenix jets were tasked with the mission of bombing Japan’s western command, the Gasuga base, and the 5th fighter wing’s Nutabaru base, and the 8th fighter wing’s Tsuiki base. Also, the 2nd escorting fleet’s Saseboji Port, Kumamoto prefecture’s automobile parts factory complex, and the Fukuoka automobile factories were included in the mission as well.

This is the 111th battalion’s commander Lee Youn-Gu, callsign apple. Every jet is now to fly to their allotted targets from this point.

The 36 fighter jets that entered Japan’s airspace split into four groups and all flew towards their allotted targets.
