When he thought of the possibility, Kang Lai Yin was unable to sit or stand, even though he was still able to deal with other cats but this leopard cat was difficult to deal with, living with each other for such a long time, Kang Lai Yin was still unclear about his behaviour.

In short, their relationship was not good. After all, there was a time when Kang Lai Yin thought the leopard cat was someone who hated expressing himself in front of Xing Luo thus, so he lowered his guard but he never thought that after a few days, Kang Xue Zou would get an exclusive spot on Xing Luo’s bed and would even bite his ears when he was sleeping.

Thought that he didn’t know about it, did he!

‘A dog who bites does not bark, a sneaky cat is outwardly cold but deep and passionate inside.’ Kang Lai Yin had no choice but to guard against him even if the leopard card was now on the table, he could still do something unexpected.

Evenmore so, Kang Lai Yin wanted to hurry and find Kang Xing Luo.

“When can I leave?”

The secretary replied, “There are still a few procedures to be done.”

Kang Lai Yin said, “Then what are you waiting for? Do it now.”

The police officers in the office area wore a smile and nodded one after another, their expression carried a look of eager attentiveness and expectation. Kang Lai Yin saw several people who were familiar-looking, especially the person with a thick and solid stature and the semi-pig type species among them, he felt pain on his back just by looking at the officer as if he got hit by someone.

The group of officers were trembling with fear, they were afraid that the nation’s godfather was angry and dissatisfied with them they keep pushing each other until Officer Zhu was pushed forward by the others, handing over the papers he said, “Father, ah no, sir, Mr Lai Yin please sign these.”

Kang Lai Yin took the pen and suddenly asked “Sign my household original name?”

Officer Zhu was stunned: “Ah?” then immediately said, “Yes, your real name.”

Officer Zhu couldn’t understand why Kang Lai Yin asked so many questions but the secretary knew; everyone thinks that Lai Yin was the nation’s godfather’s real name, in reality, it wasn’t, the name was changed by the boss himself after going into business, as far as what’s his real name he as a secretary was also unsure.

Kang Lai Yin seemed hesitant about his original name, after a while he then signed a few words in a hurry.

Waiting for Officer Zhu to take it away then Kang Lai Yin said, “You’re not allowed to look at it.”

Officer Zhu said repeatedly “I won’t, I won’t, I absolutely would not look at it.”

After the materials had been collected, it was immediately placed in the file, the secretary asked, “Sir, is your real name that strange?”

Kang Lai Yin looked gloomy, he was not angry but looked rather normal, he answered, “It’s not strange it’s just sort of….tacky, that person has always been quite casual when it comes to naming.”

The secretary said, “Is it? I think Mr.Xue Zou and Mr Tai Zi’s names aren’t that bad.”

Kang Lai Yin, “…….”

Kang Lai Yin’s pair of cat eyes firmly stared at the secretary, the secretary paused, felt that he said something wrong and regretted it so much he wanted to bite his tongue off.

What kind of words were these, wasn’t it saying that boss’ name was given without much thought?

It would be heartbreaking for the cats to hear this!

The secretary then quickly said, “What I meant is that person did indeed……give names on a whim! But you see Mr. Da Hei, he still changed his name after publishing books.”

Kang Da Hei did not change his name but rather he used his pen name, however, Kang Lai Yin didn’t want to correct it, he put on a ‘to rejoice in other people’s misfortune ‘ expression and said, “Da Hei’s name is indeed tackier than mine.”

Soon after, Kang Lai Yin’s expression turned cold and said angrily, “But that still means that I’m tacky!!”

The secretary’s sweat came running down and he hastily smiled apologetically. Kang Lai Yin spoke in a solemn tone, “When we’re outside, call me by Kang Lai Yin, do you understand?”

Secretary, “I understand, I understand.”

Even if his mouth said that he couldn’t help but think in his heart, so that’s why boss’ network ID is ‘Call me Lai Yin’

“That….may I have your autograph?”

After sending the information, Officer Zhu gathered his courage and stepped forward to ask although he found it embarrassing, but this was an extremely rare opportunity.

In this lifetime would he have a second chance to grab Jack Ma……..an opportunity to grab Kang Lai Yin?!

Kang Lai Yin stared at him for two seconds and said, “En.”

Officer Zhu’s pig nose moved, grinning from ear to ear he hurriedly passed over the reverse side of a picture and said, “Please sign your name here, ah yes yes yes yes, right here, 19th April 2021 the scene of Nation’s godfather getting arrested, To the unequalled police officer Zhu in the world.”

Kang Lai Yin, “…..”

Kang Lai Yin had the sudden urge to hit the pig, he frowned and restrained himself after he finished signing then he turned the photograph over and was stunned at the sight of the picture.

It was exactly the picture of him being arrested in handcuffs.

Kang Lai Yin, “……….”

Why did this look familiar? Was this not the picture that Tai Zi sent to the group?

Just a moment ago, he was wondering where this picture came from.

Kang Lai Yin, “You took this picture?”

Officer Zhu proudly hit his chest, “Right, except me who else can find such a good angle!”

Kang Lai Yin, “……”

Kang Lai Yin kept telling himself that he was a cat, and he should not lower himself to a pig’s level.

Kang Lai Yin asked, “Can we go now?”

The secretary said, “Not yet.”

Kang Lai Yin’s face didn’t look good, the secretary explained, “After all, you’re a public figure something like this has happened. At the very least you’ll have to go through some procedures/program to get educated.”

There is indeed nothing he can do about the country’s law, Kang Lai Yin asked, “Who will teach me?”

Officer Zhu’s smile started to become a bit perverted, and even a bit shy, saying, “Me.”

Kang Lai Yin, “…….”

***

Kang Xing Luo was in a dream.

For the past 2 years when he was in a coma he had never once dreamed, but after he woke up from the coma, the first sleep that he had, he was dragged into a dream world.

The dreamland was disordered and everything was in a mess,Kang Xing Luo’s dream only became clear when he was about to wake up.

He dreamt about sitting on the lawn of the university campus, holding a cat’s cage, beside him was Li Hong Ming, a university classmate who was holding onto his cell phone adding friends from nearby people. On the side, two kittens who were only more than two months old were in the cage sticking together and licking each other’s fur.

Everything in the dreamland was real, Kang Xing Luo remembered it distinctly, this scene really did happen when he was in university.

Ling Hong Ming said, “You truly want to raise cats? Raising two at once? How troublesome.”

Kang Xing Luo gently smiled, “How is it troublesome? It’s good to have cats to accompany me, I can buy cat toys and also I can make some wet cat food at home.”

Li Hong Ming hummed in agreement but never once moved his eyes away from his phone, he was only in charge of asking the question. He didn’t have the patience to listen to Kang Xing Luo’s answer, Kang Xing Luo opened the door of the cage and the two kittens then tried climbing out from the cage to the lawn.

One was a Tuxedo cat while the other was a Dragon Li cat. They both have yellow eyes, big and round eyes extremely adorable.

Li Hong Ming asked, “Have you named them yet?”

Kang Xing Luo said, “Yeah, one will be named Da Hei while the other is Xiao Hua.”

“Your tuxedo cat is named Da Hei and Dragon Li cat is named Xiao Hua? You can’t be serious.” Li Hong Ming laughed, then he turned around to take a look and sighed, “Why is your family Da Hei so round and bulging at such a young age?”

Although Da Hei was young, yet he had a big body build, the two cats were playing nearby and Xiao Hua had not walked a couple of steps before facing Da Hei and tackling him down, wanting him to fall. However, Da Hei didn’t get angry. The two cats were always happy together.

Li Hong Ming sighed, “It’s truly great.”

Kang Xing Luo said, “If you think it’s good then why don’t you raise one?”

Li Hong Ming said, “Forget about it, I don’t have a good temper like yours, besides even if I want a pet I wouldn’t choose a cat, I would at least choose something that I could use to show off yet easy to take care of, for example, a large dog or perhaps…..”

Li Hong Ming’s voice gradually became indistinct in the dream, Kang Xing Luo was unsure why but he couldn’t help and looked towards a certain direction, he didn’t know what was there that could still attract him so deeply.

Kang Xing Luo moved forwards a few steps looking everywhere, as expected, when he looked behind the tree there was a small black fur-ball and a pair of big beautiful eyes in the middle of it. There were some brown patches and some of the fur were even matted and tangled up.

It was a young long-haired cat.

It quietly squatted there looking at Da Hei and Xiao Hua who were playing happily in the lawn, motionless.

Kang Xing Luo’s heart felt somewhat sad for no reason.

It was as if he was looking at his other-self.

Li Hong Ming asked, “What are you looking at? The stray cat?”

Kang Xing Luo said, “En.”

Li Hong Ming said, “Stop looking, there are lots of stray cats here, are you able to take care of them?”

Kang Xing Luo nodded but he couldn’t look away, Li Hong Ming said, “No way, don’t tell me you still want to keep more cats. You already have two cats! Are two cats not enough for you?”

Kang Xing Luo said, “It’s enough.”

Turning around he touched Da Hei’s head, Da Hei twisted his head and rubbed his head against Kang Xing Luo’s hand incessantly. It was cute to the point that it made people feel dizzy. Kang Xing Luo fell silent for a while then all of a sudden turned around and ran towards the direction of the long-haired cat.

There was human disturbance, yet unexpectedly the furball didn’t turn around to escape.

Kang Xing Luo stretched out his hand towards the fur-ball, who shrank back.

“Are you hungry?”

The kitty naturally was unlikely to respond, Kang Xing Luo tried to hold him but just as he was about to touch it, the fur ball ferociously scratched him with his claws.

Li Hong Ming carried the cage with Da Hei and Xiao Hua inside and walked over, he urged, “Okay okay, hurry up and go, this cat doesn’t look bad so there will be other people who will carry it home.”

Kang Xing Luo kept his hand extended toward the stray cat, he wasn’t afraid even when he had been scratched. Not long after, there were plenty of bloody scars on the back of his hand.

“What are you doing?! This is a stray cat, you have to bring it to get an injection later!”

Kang Xing Luo acted as though he didn’t hear, eventually when he touched the back of the fur ball, it issued a low roar sound but it didn’t scratch people anymore.

Kang Xing Luo held the furball into his embrace and said softly, “Don’t be afraid, I will never abandon you if I take you away, follow me, from today onwards you’ll have a place to call home.”

Did not know if the fur-ball understood, his paw holding tightly onto Kang Xing Luo’s sleeve and plunged its head into the crook of his arm.

Li Hong Ming rolled his eyes, “What’s the point of telling him these things! You leave him here, certainly someone else will carry it home.”

Kang Xing Luo, “No, I want to raise him.”

“You want to raise him but it might not let you raise him.”

Kang Xing Luo smiled gently, when Li Hong Ming saw his expression he knew that there was no room to negotiate, he grumbled, “Fine! But don’t come crying to me when you run out of money to eat!…..Then that cat, you want to put in the cage?”

Kang Xing Luo said, “I’ll carry it.”

Although it was a dream but Kang Xing Luo still felt his mood became more joyful, he held the fur-ball in his embrace and whispered, “You are so cute, what sort of name should I give you.”

All of a sudden, the fur-ball came out from the crooked of his arm, looking at each other. The kitten’s fur rose on all ends, the fur under the neck was soft black fur.

Its eyes were so beautiful, its gaze was weak and rather wet as if there were tears in its eyes.

Would kittens shed tears the same as humans because of their moods?

It should be a coincidence.

Kang Xing Luo shook off the thoughts from his mind, holding onto the third cat master of his home, he pondered, “Your fur is so long and is a Chausie Cat, why don’t I just call you…….Little Lion!”

(TL; 小狮子 xiǎo Shīzǐ= Little Lion)

Little Lion, Little Lion, Little Lion.

‘En, the name has a nice ring to it.’

Kang Xing Luo called out and suddenly opened his eyes, he awoke from the dream but there were still those two words remaining in his mouth, “Shi Zi.”

His mind was at a loss, looking around the strange surroundings of the narrow room, Kang Xing Luo’s memory quickly returned.

He was too confused about the reality that he unexpectedly dreamt about his past just a moment ago. Rather than calling the scene a dream, it would be better to call it a flashback. It was precisely the day he carried the third cat back home.

At that time, he undoubtedly promised he would never abandon it.

But where were his cats now…

Kang Xing Luo sighed silently, His phone ran out of power so he had no choice but to find a USB cable to charge it. After connecting, Kang Xing Luo thought of a matter.

‘Speaking of which, he had been asleep for such a long time, who was in charge of charging his phone every day? Also, he had been hospitalized for two years, why was it that when he got discharged they weren’t able to find his name in the system.’

‘Moreover, the person he met yesterday night.’

‘Just who was that man?’

There were a lot of doubtful questions and Kang Xing Luo couldn’t get any answers. However, the dream from earlier reminded him, in this city, as it turned out he still had one friend he could depend on.

Li Hong Ming.
