In a yellowish-white kitchen with white lights and equipped with various kinds of cooking utensils or making all kinds of luxurious food, Nathan was making a cake with the help of a maid. Then where is Clara? maybe still in the room or still at her parents' house?
"Honey, sorry I went home earlier without telling you," Nathan said, who was talking to Clara over the phone.
"So why did you come home right away? Is there another problem?" Clara asked over the phone.
"Eh....yes but it's a company problem. It's nothing to worry about," Nathan replied with a smile. 'The problem is I'm preparing something beautiful for us tonight,' he thought.
"Okay then, I'll ask Leonardo to drive you home later..maybe I'll be home a bit, at night around eight," said Clara sounding relaxed.
"No, babe,"
"You mean?"
"Because I'm so busy, I will ask the bodyguard and driver to pick you up," Nathan explained, remembering Clara's security which was always threatened.
"In that case, okay...I turned off the phone first," said Clara.
"I love ..."
"I love you too ..."
The phone connection is lost. Nathan sighed with a strange feeling, even his smile faded. 'Normally she would be very angry when I left without saying goodbye. but now she's acting ordinary..."
"Sir... what else would you like on the menu besides chocolate cake?" asked the maid standing beside Nathan. She is a middle-aged woman who wears a black calf-length skirt combined with a white shirt top and wears a red apron.
Nathan returned to his senses. He refocused on his plan to make some menus for tonight.
"We'll just make cakes, steaks, and apple pies. Those are Clara's favorite menus," he said and then shifted his focus to hitting the meat to be grilled.
"Okay then, I will prepare the ingredients for making apple pie," said the maid and then walked towards the cupboard where the ingredients were stored.
Not wanting to keep thinking about Clara's different attitude, Nathan returned to his focus on cooking with the help of the maid. The man wearing black basic pants combined with a white shirt and wearing a red apron looks very good at making cakes or grilling steak as if he is used to cooking.
Drett... drett...
Nathan let out a shaky breath when he heard his phone in his apron pocket ring. He took a tissue to wipe his hands, then reached for the sophisticated object and saw an incoming call from his mother.
"Hello, Mom."
"Nathan, Frederica want to go there. Will you allow it?" Diana asked over the phone.
"No!" replied Nathan curtly.
"Nathan ... don't be so curtly. After all, she is your daughter," Diana said in a voice that sounded patient.
"Yes, I know that. Even after multiple DNA tests, she's still my daughter," Nathan said angrily. "But don't let her come here tonight because tonight I don't want my time with Clara to be disturbed!" he continued firmly.
"Okay... maybe tomorrow or whenever mommy will take her there."
"Don't let Patricia follow her, or I won't allow her here at all!" Nathan shouted sternly and then hung up the phone. The man looked very annoyed, even his mood was damaged just because of the news about his little daughter. Hmm….Why does he hate his daughter so much?
'That damn brat always makes me feel like I'm always attached to Patricia ... I was never even sure that she was my child ... I can't believe the DNA tests that have been done!' Nathan thought angrily. he looked back at the meat to be roasted, then took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. 'I'd better focus on Clara because she's more important than anything. I will make her very happy tonight.'
Michael just got out of his company building. He walked towards his car which was parked in the designated spot available.
"Michael!"
Michael stopped in his tracks when he saw someone coming towards him from the gate. he frowned when he saw someone it was Mia who smiled at him.
"Mia..."
"Are you going to the hospital after this?" Mia asked when she was face to face with Michael.
"No," Michael snapped.
Mia let out a shaky breath. "I thought you were going to look after Casey, that's why I came here and I thought I could go with you. But you don't want to go there."
"Maybe I'll be there tonight… I'm going to stay because I want to keep beside her all night," Michael said angrily. "During the day I'm very busy with my work... That's why I want to spend time with her at night."
"What if I accompany you?" Mia asked a little nervously.
Instead of answering, Michael asked back, "why do you suddenly want to accompany her at night? Wouldn't it be more comfortable to sleep at home?"
"I never sleep well at home because I keep thinking about Casey… I'm worried something will happen or she suddenly wakes up without anyone around... I can't possibly sleep well when she's so vulnerable," Mia said with a sad look on her face.
"In that case, okay ... .later at 7 pm I will come to your house to pick you up, and we will take care of Casey together," Michael said with his flat gaze.
Mia nodded.
Michael was about to get back in the car and then looked back at Mia who was still standing on the spot. "Do you want to come home with me?" he asked.
"If you don't mind," Mia replied.
"Then hurry up and get on," Michael shouted and then quickly entered the wheelhouse.
Mia exhaled roughly, looking at Michael who this time looked a little less pleasant to her. She immediately walked to the side door of the steering wheel, had to go in and sit next to Michael.
Michael immediately drove his car to get out of his company area.
___
"What about the company without Casey, is everything still fine ... Is everything stable?" Michael asked, focusing on driving.
"Everything is fine because Oskar can be relied on to replace Casey while I take his place," Mia replied casually. "It's just ... It's a bit of a bother when it comes to making decisions," she continued.
"What do you mean bother?" Michael asked.
"We had to ask daddy's signature because only he has the authority to make decisions other than Casey," Mia explained, occasionally glancing at Michael who still looked handsome even though he wasn't as fresh as this morning. 'I wish Casey never woke up so I could make you mine,' she thought.
"It's a bother or not, if that's what has to happen, then you and Oskar must stick to the rules. At least wait until Casey wakes up," Michael exclaimed.
Mia just nodded with a faded smile. She was starting to get annoyed that Michael always put Casey first without even glancing at her. Hmm, the girl doesn't know herself. Could she also be the cause of Casey's accident? Or maybe Oscar? Or maybe they cooperate?
