Chapter 74: Conversation At The Cafe

Clara sat on the black couch, opposite Fabrizio and Paulina who smiled at her.

"Ma'am, please drink. I just ordered it for you," said Paulina while glancing at the iced coffee that was already available on the table.

Clara nodded, then immediately took the iced coffee which was available in a beautiful elongated transparent glass.

"Aren't you afraid there's poison in that drink?" Fabrizio asked, glancing at Clara who was drinking.

Clara put the iced coffee back on the table and said, "I'm not afraid because I know that Paulina didn't poison me."

"Thank you for always trusting me, ma'am. I really didn't expect to be a victim of accusations of poison, and I also don't know why on CCTV there is a person who looks so much like me so the accusation makes me look guilty," said Paulina, bending her face.

"Maybe it's the person the main character ordered," said Clara casually.

"I can prove that that person is not Paulina, then after that, I will focus on investigating Felix," said Fabrizio.

"Let's skip the poison first because my husband wants to calm down. Fabrizio showed me a very small oval sound recorder, then turned it on and placed it on the table next to Clara. Clara began to listen to the recorded voice, and she clearly understood that among the many voices there were those of Oskar and her uncle. It made her heart hurt so much and her body seemed to go limp with disappointment, not expecting what she had suspected so far would be proven.

'Why did Uncle do this? What did I do wrong... And what does he want? those on whom I have relied all this time, turned out to be nothing more than thorns in the flesh that pierced me!'

"There's also video evidence if you want to see it," said Fabrizio, looking at Clara who seemed very shocked. He even saw the woman's eyes filled with tears.

"No, I don't want to see that because I already believe in you," Clara replied, trying to stay strong and not cry because Fabrizio and Paulina didn't know who she was.

"Okay."

Fabrizio took the tape recorder back then put it in his leather jacket pocket, then went back to drinking. Paulina, who had been silent all this time, glanced at Clara who seemed to be covering her sadness but she didn't dare to talk about it.

"For now, I think we should just let Oskar and his father act because I believe there is a big motive behind all this. But we have to make sure Casey is safe there," he said.

"Do you think they're going to kill Casey?" asked Clara with a straight look.

"Ma'am, I have the conclusion that he did all this for the sake of taking all of Casey's possessions. However, they stopped because it turned out that Casey was still in a coma and might have a chance to recover..they didn't dare put any decay on Casey, because that would make them look evil and of course, a lot of people would accuse them because Casey was in the house." Fabricio said very seriously like he was thinking too.."There's a possibility that they don't want Casey to get better either, that's why they're taking care of her in that house. They're going to take her so long that she can't hold on anymore because her body will get weaker."

Clara sighed. "How evil they are….but as far as I know, Casey loves them very much and all she has is them and her boyfriend," she said.

After a while the atmosphere calmed down, they went back to enjoying snacks and drinks until Clara took something out of her bag and put it on the table.

"Hair?"

Fabrizio stared at the transparent plastic filled with long hair and short hair. each bearing the names of Nathan and Frederica.

"Please take the two hair samples and send them to the hospital for a DNA test...This matter must not be known by anyone concerned with Nathan or Patricia, not even Felix," explained Clara seriously.

"Mom. Clara. Why do you want to do this DNA test? Do you think that Frederika is Mr. Nathan's daughter?" asked Paulina.

Clara glanced at Paulina, who certainly didn't know that Nathan had always been accused of being Frederica's father because the accusation had not been made public.
