I had slept soundly, unburdened by the previous day's trials, and awoke feeling rejuvenated. The morning sun streamed through the short curtains, casting a pleasing glow upon my room.

I wonder what the others are up to, I've overslept a little.

Argh, darn it... I attempted to rise from my bed and was immediately beset by a headache. Why does it hurt as soon as I move? Perhaps I should have another cup of the tea my mother had brewed for me the previous evening.

I made my way downstairs with caution, and was greeted by my two sisters, one of whom approached me.

"Morning Dante, I haven't seen you since last morning, you haven't even greeted me, how dare you!"

If only she knew that my father had been his usual distant self, yesterday morning...

"My apologies, I shall be more mindful in the future."

She scrutinized me closely and took hold of my chin.

"You're looking paler than usual, are you eating alongside us?"

Although she was only two years younger than me, she was almost as tall as me. She possessed many of my father's physical characteristics, as he was a very tall man. I found it intriguing that she and I were the only ones in our family with hair colors other than brown, hers being blonde and mine being black.

She could be quite assertive, and though she tried to maintain a positive outlook, she often helped my mother care for our younger siblings. However, like Thomas, she often seemed to think she knew me better than I knew myself, which was quite disconcerting.

I pushed her hand off me.

"I am fine, I simply need some tea."

"Fine, you need tea? Mother saved us a lot!"

My spirits lifted upon hearing this and we both prepared cups of tea. This was much better...

Not shortly after my father descended the staircase, he appeared more relaxed than normal. He meticulously cut an orange for himself.

"Good morning Dante, Madison."

"Good morning father."

I seized the opportunity to present my suggestion to him. "Father, do you not think it would be prudent for us to embark on a hunting excursion sometime? We reside amidst a verdant landscape, after all."

"Where will you get the equipment needed? Don't bother suggesting to me things we cannot do. We aren't barbarians, Dante."

Barbarians... Equipment, it wouldn't be too arduous to acquire them, would it...?

Suddenly, it occurred to me that I could search for some in the factory. There must be some debris I could use.

"If we were to procure the equipment, would that be satisfactory?"

"Sure Dante, we will be hunting."

Fantastic... Now I only need to go there - Wait, darn it... I had forgotten I was scheduled to meet my friends. Would my father even permit me to leave the house?

"Oh, father, I almost forgot to inquire about one more matter. May I leave the house and meet with my friends?"

"Do whatever you want Dante. But don't make your mother too worried."

Well, that was easier than anticipated. Who am I kidding, he has never been particularly attentive towards me.

My sister, Madison, stealthily approached me from behind.

"Don't go too far, or the Devil will notice ya."

Is she trying to scare me into not leaving the house?

"What are you talking about, Madison?"

"You haven't heard about the folklore? The Devil, roaming around the outskirts on the earths, collecting souls of whoever comes close to him."

"Alright..."

Perhaps the tea has affected her, but I should get dressed before I leave.

"Oh, hello mother."

As I walked up the stairs, I saw my mother descending. I should have waited for her downstairs.

"Good morning dear. Are you going somewhere?"

"Yes, mother. I made plans with Thomas and my other friends to go outside for a bit."

"I see, don't make it too late, promise?"

"Yes, mother."

What shall I wear today... I only have three pieces of clothing, make that four. I recently found a sack coat for myself, luckily it fit me. I hear my mother calling for me from downstairs.

"Dante, will you have some breakfast before you go?"

Hmm, I'm not particularly hungry, it would be wise to save it for later, our provisions are quite limited after all.

I finished clothing myself and headed downstairs

"It's alright, mother. I'm not hungry."

She still wrapped some bread covered in butter and put it in a bag and handed it to me. "For later then."

I could have them later indeed...

I bid my farewells to the rest of my family and headed outside of our cottage. It was quite chilly today, just how I like it. The gloomy weather, the clouds covering the land, something about it brings me a sense of serenity... I am glad I got to go outside today, I will get to enjoy this lovely weather...

The factory was in sight, and I observed Thomas standing alone at the front gate. I approached and he greeted me with enthusiasm.

"Dante!!!"

As energetic as usual...

"Hello, Thomas."

We entered the factory, which was fortunate to still be open as it was cleaned by a professional crew every Sunday. I instructed Thomas to wait for me briefly and ventured to the storeroom. I noticed someone standing there, donning the same work attire as ourselves, who I surmised must be one of the overseers of the facility.

"Pardon me, I have a query."

The man turned around. "Hey there, Dante! Why are you here today?"

"We intend to enjoy ourselves today, but I was wondering, could I borrow some additional knives?"

The individual turned back to the storeroom and rummaged through the plethora of items that had been stockpiled.

"There might... Be some knives... There! Here ya go."

The individual handed me a surplus of knives, more than I required.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Bruno."

"No problem, kid. Be careful though!"

Thomas observed the exchange and queried,

"What is he doing...?"

As I walked back to Thomas, he asked me

"Why are you having knives in your bag?"

"Oh, these are for my father. We will be embarking on a hunting excursion soon."

Thomas' expression brightened. "Ohoo! Sounds exciting! Hey, we should do that together sometime too!"

I scratched my head, looking downwards.

"It could be dangerous for you, Thomas."

His expression contorted into annoyance.

"What do you mean! I am no child!"

As Thomas vented his frustration, I noticed Okabe and Gabriel approaching.

"Hello, friends!" Gabriel exclaimed.

Okabe complimented my coat. "Fancy sack you got there Dante, you bought it?"

"Oh no, I found it in the forest nearby my house."

"Your forest must be loaded with gold! It looks great, only a bit too depressing!" He replied

I concurred with his assessment, but I had grown attached to black colored clothing and have always preferred darker hues.

With our group assembled, we engaged in brief discourse before setting off towards the city. As we departed, the sun began to peek through the clouds, offering a picturesque setting. I must admit, it was quite pleasing to the eye.
