The dragon raised its front legs and unleashed a tremendous roar, the eye in its hollow chest quivering. With its transformation, it possessed a jaw and a tongue. The eye in its core pulsated with a black glow and pitch-black veins came to life all over its body.
Asahi felt an abnormal level of life force in the plant dragon and a concentration of Arcanum in its heart. Curious, he checked the dragon’s status.
[Demi Spirit Dragon Lv. 240] Designated Title: Dungeon Child Race: Demi Spirit, Dragon Class: Spellcaster [Attributes] Strength: 290 Dexterity: 200 Constitution: 350 Defense: 350 Charm: - Arcanum: 65 [Skills] [Divine Magic: It can cast fire spells empowered by Arcanum.] [Regeneration: Arcanum enhances its regeneration as long as the core is intact.] |
Arcanum flowed in the Demi Spirit’s body, which it couldn’t control freely since it wasn’t the actual owner. The Arcanum instead helped it in boosting its status to the limits of an adventurer, regeneration, and spell-casting.
As if sensing the dragon’s weakness, Aimi threw a knife at supersonic speed and impaled the dragon’s core. A thick arm of vines came to intercept the dagger. While the dragon was sluggish, its movement carried extreme force. However, the dagger wasn’t normal either. Aimi wasn’t limiting herself this time, and the dagger wrapped in the darkness element ripped through the tentacles and destroyed the Demi Spirit Dragon’s core.
“Keeeeeeee.” The dragon released a piercing shriek as the black veins on its body bulged with an audible creak.
Loki felt a twitch in her eye. She had never seen the Demi Spirit before, but the dragon’s demise gave her a terrible premonition, as if something ugly was about to go down.
“Watch out, Asahi.”
“I know.”
In the next instant, the veins on the dragon’s body burst, unleashing an immense shower of black blood. Asahi erected a wall of flames, and the black blood rain sizzled before reaching them.
He ignored the level up prompts and lowered the fire wall. Loki gasped as she saw the aftermath of the black blood. The trees that came in contact with the black blood turned a revolting jet black.
“This is evil,” she said. “It’s helluva strong… stronger than every adventurer I’ve ever met. Just this creature could’ve–”
Asahi pinched her butt before she started sulking about Orario being destroyed. “I’d kick its ass if it came to the surface, got it?”
Klyscha’s modified world was doomed to fail with Ais’ current growth. There was simply no way Ais and Bell Cranel would have a growth to keep up with the Dungeon’s two hundred floors deep structure.
“Crybaby,” Ruby mocked Loki with a grin. “You remind me of Loki in my world. He keeps whining about his father and brother like a wimp.”
Loki made a face of pure disgust. “Me and male? Ew. I don’t wanna think about it.”
“…”
“Asahi-kyun~, can we join?” Asahi suddenly heard Shiori’s voice in his head. “Saeko and I are getting bored here. The last level of the dungeon sounds like a dope adventure.”
“Shiori, you have to be more polite when making a request,” Saeko said.
“Screw manners, Saeko. We’re talking to our husband.”
“You are so… hopeless.”
The Busujima Sisters argued in his head while being sweet to him. He asked Klyscha to bring them over, and they appeared before him instantly.
The twins looked around in awe, appreciating the scenery that defied the norms.
Saeko ended her admiration and took a frown, half unsheathing her katana. “I sense a killing intent. Am I permitted to start a killing spree?”
Shiori sighed. “It’s the dungeon, Saeko. The environment itself is our enemy. What’s that…?”
A tentacle crept out of the earth. Saeko cut it down with a quick draw slash with flushed cheeks. Her sudden embarrassment provoked a chuckle from Asahi and Shiori.
“Saeko, did you see that? It’s a tentacle monster!”
Saeko’s blush deepened. “Asahi-kun, what is our goal today?”
The flustered Saeko tried to change the subject, keeping her fetishes a secret from the mostly innocent Rini.
Ruby’s hand twitched. She had the urge to tease Saeko as if she was dealing with Ddraig, not a total stranger. “Girl, are you a masochist like Ddraig?”
Saeko froze momentarily before shakily turning to Ruby. “Y-You got it wrong. I take pleasure in inflicting pain. I’m a sadist, not a masochist.”

Ruby narrowed her eyes with a suspicious glint. “Are you sure?”
“…Yes.”
“Weird.” Ruby rubbed her neck, frowning in confusion. “I felt that type of energy from you.”
Asahi rubbed Saeko’s head. Saeko leaned into the patting, her eyes half closing with pleasure. “Enough chit chatting. Everyone, we’re flying to that temple.”
“Let’s fucking go!” Ruby cheered.
Asahi sped up the pace by simply flying over the valleys. A thick tentacle arm flew out and tried to swat Rini down to earth. Rini simply grabbed it with her gauntlet and yanked it from its root.
Ruby tried to fight with her dragon flames but the Demi Spirit was highly resistant to flames. “Do I have to use my authority on these weak shits?”
He chuckled and morphed into his Fire Elemental form. He pinpointed the source of tentacles through their life force and aimed his finger at the location. “I’ll deal with them.”
A concentrate beam shot out and obliterated the Demi Spirit out of existence. The experience prompt in his vision served as much-needed proof of his kill.
“You look sexy in this form.” Ruby swept her tongue over her lips and winked. “What do you say we mate in this form? I can absorb your fire through our reunion and strengthen my own.”
Asahi looked down at his crotch. “I’m not sure I wanna let this thing near your hole.”
Being the embodiment of flames, he could bend the flames to harm anyone. He still felt unease letting a girl handle his burning junk if the other party was a master of flames in her own right.
“It’ll be fine, sweetie,” Ruby coaxed with a sweet smile like she was tempting a child. “I can always rebuild my body if shit goes bad. I just want to try something more extreme than our first battle.”
Shiori stared at Ruby. “Is that the same Great Red who refuses Asahi-kun’s advances? She is more eager to get into his pants than me.”
Saeko shushed Shiori. “Dragons are passionate creatures… just look at Ddraig.”
“That is very true. Saeko, you’re also very passionate. Why don’t we become a dragon?”
Saeko shook her head. “I’ll pass.”
“Booo.”
While listening to their banter, he continued firing beams from his fingers. A bloodcurdling wail echoed with each streak of radiant fire.
[—You earned 1,199,259,000 XP for killing ‘Level 271 Demi Spirit Dragon’]
[—You have leveled up!]
Prompts after prompts showed up, informing about his increasing levels. His level soared by killing Level 250+ monsters.
‘Dungeon-chan is turning these Demi Spirits into dragons. Is it because of One-Eyed Black Dragon’s success?’
(Indeed. She doubled down on dragons after she saw it work.)
The entire journey towards the temple was with no hurdle. So much so that he questioned if the Dungeon had some trap waiting for him. His instincts told him otherwise, that everything was safe.
‘Is this Arcanum blocking my instincts?’
(My love, you’re way too powerful for this place! You’d have struggled against them before you awakened your elemental forms. These Demi Spirits are made to kill physical fighters.)
‘I’ll reach Level 100 today.’
(What class does my love want?)
‘Blacksmith. Fei will be happy if I showed genuine interest in becoming her disciple.’
(Umu. Time to capture her heart.)
“You never get tired of seducing women, do you?” asked a grumpy Ddraig. “I’m back to my cozy lair with Klyscha.”
‘Nope, and welcome back. What were you doing in Tiamat’s lair?’
“I beat the living Jesus out of Tiamat. She made the excuse that she stopped training centuries ago. It didn’t stop me from stomping her again and again. It was so much fun.”
‘Ddraig finally has a proper friend. I’m in tears.’
“...”
‘By the way, I’ll train you and Ruby later. Be ready.’
“I’m all fired up now!”
Chatting with Klyscha and Ddraig, he reached the temple beyond the forest.
The large stone door opened on its own, and two figures walked out.
