It has been a long time since the sun set and yet the light has not ceased to shine on the inhabited world.
A young girl was rushing along a scarcely popular street slightly outside of the city that was enveloped in sparkling light.
“Ha, ha, ha!”
Even though the girl still had a youthful innocence about her, she was moving far faster through the wind was not that of an ordinary person.
With each stride she made, she leaped more than a dozen meters in front as her entire body glowed faintly. At this moment, there was no doubt that she was using her “magical power”.
“Ha, ha, ha…!”
Even when she invoked her own magical power and ran with all of her force, the distance between her and “that guy,” who was pursuing her from behind, did not widen in any way.
If anything, that guy was steadily gaining ground on her.
“―!”
The girl’s face twisted with frustration at this realization. Despite the reality that it was only 8 o’clock, she cast her gaze about but noticed nobody strolling down the street.
If abnormality existed, there was only one cause: the power that only those with magical powers can handle―it must be magic.
“…Ah!”
She sprang across the vacant pedestrian bridge in one motion, and as she turned the next corner, she impulsively let out a sigh of relief. It was the typical scene of a street with lots of traffic and pedestrians.

The girl’s eyes among them spontaneously overcome with tears at the sight of a recognizable figure behind her.
It was the most intimate adult presence she had ever encountered at school.
It was all right now, she assured herself, disengaging her magical power and continuing to run at the speed of a normal high school girl. Perhaps noticing the sound of footsteps, the person slowly turned to look back at her.
The girl, possibly out of joy, raised an uncharacteristically loud voice.
“Teach―…”
Right when she almost reached him―the man in front of her laughed slightly.
Shortly after, the man’s arm in front of her moved with blinding speed, or so she felt.
The girl heard the sound of something bending, and immediately afterward, her vision was reversed.
Huh?
She struggled to scream for a split second, but all that came out was air leaking out.
Eventually, the girl’s consciousness was obliterated and even her inverted vision flashed.
