The smell of blood was rich within the stadium walls. The once vibrant screams were now completely silent. "Well, the tournament was a little too easy to breach aye," Yves announced to his squad. His hands were playing with his silver hair as he exited the waiting room and into the stadium ground with caution. The heart-pupiled siblings stood by their master's side, a wicked smile plastered on their snow-pale faces, as blood covered their hands.

"Cogar and Serene! Well done." Yves praised as Serene clung to his arm. "It wasn't hard killing defenceless humans. However, I would have liked to at least have some quality time with Barragan." Cogar said, pushing his hair back with his clean hand.

Yves chuckled before staring up at the holographic screen that showcased the contestants. He was more interested in the reincarnated redhead than anyone else. A lot of people all over Locrome want their grubby little hands on him. "Has Maya started her work?" He asked, to which Cogar switched the camera angle to showcase the struggling team. Yves cackled at the sight of Maya having her way with them. He wished he was a part of that.

Magnus struggled to breathe under the immense gas. His angered behaviour subsides with a more painful feeling replacing it. Out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed that his team were the same, a young woman with long orange hair and a long white body con dress with long sleeves. She looked to be in her early twenties and he could feel her purple eyes focused on him. Wasn't she the girl from the waiting area? Was this part of the exam or?

The gas masks help tremendously, however, the gas they already inhaled was starting to take effect. "Guys, press the button that's placed on the side of your mask." They did as Elvia told them. "It's an antidote for the gas." It really was. Their lungs felt lighter and their heads were clearing up. Elvia was a medical genius.

Maya just stood there and watched. Not a single emotion showed on her face. She watched as they got back up on their feet. She was itching for a fight. She'll get one and proceed back to Yves with Magnus in her arms. "I see you guys were able to get yourselves back up again. Great. Now let's fight." Monotone. Everything about her was so monotone.

She disappeared and appeared before a barely standing Magnus. Her hands were in fist form as they collided with his face, causing him to fly back a great distance. Thali was quick to start attacking her, attacks that were nothing but futile. Maya roundhouse kicked the fire user towards the forest. She stopped to stare at the beautiful pastel clouds changing colours.

"Barrel Blaster!" A large brown barrel was thrown at her. It grazed her but she managed to dodge it. Ivankov kissed his teeth when he missed and went in for another spontaneous attack, an attack he wouldn't be able to make. He felt a hand go through his chest and rip his heart out, shocking Mortale, Elvia and himself. Mortale, angered, struck his sword against her body, only for it to turn to mist.

"You cannot cut me. I was created this way." She stated, staring at a shocked Mortale with an emotionless face. The rasp in her voice intensified every time she spoke. Almost as if she herself was being affected by her own power.

"Thrill Mode."

Maya crossed her arms over her face to block the quick, powerful kick that was coming from Magnus. With him glowing again, the team could see the victory in their path. Magnus used his hands to stand and start kicking in a spinning motion. Maya was finding it harder and harder to block the barrage of attacks. Somehow her mist form wasn't working. She flipped backwards and landed in a flamingo-like stance. Magnus was relentless as he chased after her.

"Bubble Bubble, Mist Mist." A thousand solid bubbles filled with the looney gas from before came at him. "Watch Out!" Elvia yelled as Magnus headed straight for them. The bubbles shattered like glass as he smashed them with his bare hands. Mortale covered Ivankov's dead face with a white handkerchief he had. His rival was dead, killed by someone who at first seemed weaker than them. Magnus's fist started to glow as he produce a wing-like crimson flame. After putting some distance between them, Maya was now finally able to go back into a mist form. Being in that form made it harder for Magnus to fight her. By now they had all come to the conclusion that Maya was the enemy and not part of the tournament.

Yves watched as Maya fought. A large wicked smile plastered on his tanned face, and sparks of electricity coming from his body. He so badly wanted to join, but he couldn't. Magnus was reaching his limit in this form. The week's training was all about being conscious whilst he was in this mode. Swapping the ability of speech for awareness.

Mist wrapped around his body and squeezed. Maya returned to her natural form and bit his ear. An eerie chuckle escaped her glossed lips. The most emotion she's shown since she's been here. Magnus saw something from the corner of his saw something. He then took the opportunity to head butt Maya, who let go with a scream. She held her bleeding nose. She was so angry. Her face was red and she looked like she was going to blow any minute.

"Rayo Del Sol." A large beam headed towards Maya. In the middle of the pastel sky stood Thali. Her hair was flowing around, mimicking the movements of a flame. The flame circle was ten times bigger than the one she conjured up during the sea beast attack. Mortale and Elvia watched in awe as Thali stood there so majestically. Memories of the endless training she'd go through flooded their minds. Nights where she loses sleep just to get better at a new skill.

Maya could barely dodge, and that came with some heavy consequences. Half her body and face were blown off. A large gaping whole stared back at the team. She stared ahead in shock and so did Yves who watched the whole thing go down. "A bloody Gorna was there. Why wasn't I informed?!" He yelled, Cogar and Serene, closing their ears in the process.

"We're leaving."

The team walked through the forest solemnly. They had just buried Ivankov and rested up a bit. Coming to the conclusion that the tournament was breached meant that everything was over and they needed to get out of here. Thali's energy still hadn't returned and she wasn't fully conscious for that attack, so all in all, she was given a piggyback ride by Mortale.

The bodies of the contestants sprawled out across the valleys and the scent of decaying bodies were strong. Thank Thali that she was able to end it quickly. Magnus turned around to smile at the sound asleep Thali that rested on Mortale's back.

Magnus' mind rushed to his snappy behaviour from before. He may have some unresolved issues he needed to deal with. But on a good note, you could say they were the winners of this tournament.

A bright light could be seen at the end of the forest. The exit was close by. They started sprinting, Mortale being careful to not wake up Thali. Once they exited, Elvia almost vomited at the atrocious sight before. Magnus just stood there still. They didn't stop running, afraid that the enemy who did this was still lurking in the shadows. They entered their rooms, grabbed their stuff and rushed back to their boats. They crash passed the crowd who seemed traumatised by what they saw. Once they reached the pier, they quickly went aboard their yacht and Mortale got to start it. They sailed off, never looking back. Thali was now sleeping on the distant Magnus' lap.

Elvia, who stood behind him, placed her palms gently on each temple of his and a glowing orange light started to appear. His busy mind now rested as he slumped on her legs. His eyes become heavy, and he too finally drifted to sleep. Elvia gently laid him down and placed individual blankets on both him and Thali, before walking towards Mortale and sitting next to him.

"We haven't done much fighting. Leave it to those two to hog up all the fun." Elvia chuckled after finishing her sentence. Mortale let a small smile leave his lips. "You weren't fond of Ivankov, your reaction was the same five years ago. Why is that?"

"He was an ogre." Elvia nodded her head. Somewhat understanding where the swordsman was coming from.

All that was needed now was some intense rest and a new adventure. Hopefully a new occupation.
