Chapter 35: 35 – Kizuna vs Ingrid part 1

That was a close one. I honestly wasn't expecting to meet the boss so early. I'm glad I listened to Alisha and came back with her. She really did a number on my girls.

 

So this is Ingrid. I recognize that figure. She wasn't implemented in the game. However her model was data mined at one point. She was supposed to be an event raid boss for Halloween, but the devs changed it all of a sudden. So her files were in the game but never used.

 

Event raid bosses are usually in the level 200-230 level range. And technically they have various gimmicks. In Fraxinus Online, these types of raids couldn't be cleared by AI driven subordinates. Seems like the logic applied here as well to some extent. It takes a player to coordinate everyone's attacks. 

 

Well, my level is superior to hers anyway, but that doesn't mean I should let my guard down. I still have to roleplay the all powerful queen, though. However, first…

 

"Alisha, please tend to my girls. Support anyone who needs help. Especially Shiro. She took a big hit."

 

"Understood."

 

Alisha quickly jumped back and once again I turn my attention towards my opponent. In her expression was rage. Inside her eyes was determination. Conviction was dwelling inside her. I could tell. She's looking strange at me. Is she trying to assess me?

 

"Total combat power, 1.2……million? What in the world are you?"

 

Total combat power? Where the hell did she come up with that random number? There wasn't a stat like that in game. Regardless.

 

"I'm Kizuna Amun Ra! The true ruler of this planet. You invaded my home and messed with my girls. That's something I can't tolerate."

~Third person POV~

 

After Kizuna introduced herself, her figure vanished.

 

"!?"

 

Ingrid lost sight of Kizuna’s figure for a moment. It was something impossible. In these few thousand years she had never lost sight of her enemy.

 

‘So a formidable enemy after so long huh’──when Ingrid whispered that inside her heart, she sensed a terrifying presence from diagonally behind her.

 

Normally, Ingrid almost never noticed the enemy's existence. The reason was that most existences couldn’t possibly be a threat to her. From Ingrid’s point of view, she couldn’t recognize an existence that was just too weak as an existence. Even if she saw their figure, even if she heard their voice, she didn’t notice them.

 

Because of that, the presence Ingrid felt from behind her was something fresh.

 

A threat at the level that made her feel a chill. A danger at the level that made her spine shudder. An opponent of such a level was right behind her.

 

Ingrid tasted for the first time the shuddering feeling that was a mix of fear and anticipation while she turned around.

 

"This dragon of yours… it's pointless for it to regenerate."

 

Something exploded.

 

Fierce radiance and flame blast, and the ice fragments passed through Ingrid, however she herself took minimal damage.

 

Just what in the world happened!?

 

Fafnir should be standing guard.

 

"For a guard of yours, it’s lacking in power."

 

Kizuna tossed away Fafnir’s remains from her hands.

 

Meanwhile, Rose and the others were staring at the remains with a feeling of disbelief. They recalled when they fought and lost against Ingrid previously. They were unable to even defeat her servant Fafnir. 

 

"Nya… Kizunya……just how much power does she have?" (Kitty)

 

"For ones such as ourselves, it is really impossible to understand the depth of ojou-sama's strength."

 

Ingrid stared with a cold eye at the remains of her servant tumbling on the ground.

 

"Lacking in power…… you say? No, it has been useful to me. Fafnir devoured the opponents that were too weak for me to deal with personally. 

 

It’s the natural providence for the weak to be defeated by the strong. Besides, defeating you and obtaining your strength will make me even stronger."

"Yare yare… that way of thinking… are you a complete idiot? You're worse than a child. You're basically making everyone follow your rules just so you can get at some point a cheap thrill. 

 

I need to teach you that there is more to life than strength. So when I kick your ass and reclaim my planet, I'll make you my subordinate."

 

"Hou? Big words. But if you do manage to beat me I won't mind pledging my loyalty to you. The weak must obey the strong. However, once I win, I'm claiming all of you as my personal pets."

 

Ingrid waved her hand straight to the side.

 

Kizuna instantly stood on guard. However, Odin’s movement wasn’t for attacking. It was a preparation for her to fight seriously. The sword on her back levitated by itself and was settled in Ingrid's hand.

 

It was her strongest armament──Balmung.

 

"Ojou-sama! I have analyzed the weapon. It's a gun blade! The black and red lightning is the blast! It will surely pierce without any way to defend against! Be careful!" (Molly)

 

"Surely……piercing?"

 

Kizuna frowned.

 

"Here I come, Kizuna!"

 

Ingrid readied her Gungnir and kicked on the ground with her thrusters at full force. She rushed out as though vanishing from her spot. In the eyes of the other girls, it only looked like the ground was exploding.

 

However, there were two explosions.

 

Kizuna moved forward faster than Ingrid.

 

"!!"

 

Before Balmung could connect with Kizuna's body, she flew inside her opponent’s bosom instantly. And then threw a right straight punch into Ingrid’s stomach.

 

"!? ──Gah!"

 

Ingrid’s body was flying from one dune 10 kilometers to another. It was just a punch.

 

"There's an obvious gap between us. Give up."

 

"UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

 

Ingrid lifted her body from inside the sand as though she wasn’t damaged at all. In her hand was the sword that would overturn even fate. Its internal mechanism started rotating in high speed and it emitted an evil mix of aura, similar to Excalibur Morgan.

 

"This is as far as you go, Kizuna!"

 

The destructive energy beam was flying straight towards her.

 

It was an attack that Ingrid believed would bring victory.  No matter what kind of person, they wouldn’t be able to escape this high speed blast.

 

The next moment, Balmung raised a horrible sound and pierced Kizuna.

 

Alisha and the others who were watching from afar held their breath.

 

A pure white light emerged from that impact. That invincible sword blast was stopped.

 

"That’s impossible……my Balmung is…… just how?"

 

"Drive Shift: White Scarab Armor."

 

Before Ingrid, Kizuna now stood and instead of her usual gold attire, she was now clad in a white nano-suit covering every inch of her body, including her face. You could mistake her for a full fledged android. And she was also carrying a shield the same size as her own body.

 

Now that Kizuna is once again reconnected to her treasury, that doesn't mean that she has every weapon at her disposal. It also means she has every armor. Drive Shift quickly allows Kizuna to instantly re-equip any piece of armor she desires. White Scarab Armor possess one of the highest possible defenses in Fraxinus Online.

 

"I told you already. You can't beat me."

 

"Ha… HAHAHA!! Interesting. This feeling… the exhilaration of a real fight!! This moment is what I am living for!! You say I can't beat you? We'll just see about that!"
