On the following day, the group talked with Az about how to move forward and came up with the following plan:

  1. Hunt monsters, skin them
  2. Find a city, sell hides to traders, buy Az a few shiny stuff,
  3. go to a guild accept some missions
  4. ???
  5. Profit

And by the end of the day, Az stood in front of a bleeding pack of wolves, around 20 to be more precise, with each of them having an arrow embedded in their forehead. The smell of blood and death was stron in the air, and flies were already beginning to gather around the corpses.

“Was it really necessary to kill them all?” Az asked quietly as he walked through the dead pack while avoiding dirtying his shoes. “I mean, I can’t eat that much meat, anyway,” he continued before stopping in front of a twitching wolf.

“I will end you from your misery,” Az quietly whispered before unsheathing a small dagger, attached to his belt. Gently he placed it on the throbbing carotid artery, before cutting it open.

Blood immediately gushed out of the wound, dirtying not only his blade but also his fingers.

“Az how about helping Simaev with skinning an animal,” Ogron sighed, as he used a sharp stone to remove fats from the skin.

“Can you teach me how to skin a wolf?” Az asked before dropping a wolf next to Simeav who was using a lightly bluish glowing knife.

Without even looking up to Az, she sighed with a smile, “Sorry Az, but skinning is not something you can learn on the fly. How about bringing the animals to us… or even better, making some of the wolves your minion. After all, we gotta need some animals to carry our new hides.”

“Fine,” Az sighed disappointed. He had hoped to learn a new skill on this journey, but it seemed that wouldn’t be the case.

“Aww, don’t make such a face,” Simaev replied as she tried to rub her fingers on Az’s warm cheeks. “I promise you, after we got you some shiny stuff, I will be teaching you how to hunt and take care of your prey.”

Az’s eyes immediately lit up and he jumped in happiness.

Their journey continued, and it didn’t take long until they came near a caravan that halted within a valley. Thankfully, their small group was still one or two kilometers away from the caravan, meaning that Az was in ignorance about everything, and when Az fell asleep, his minions began their discussion.

“So what is our plan?” Otaz asked while glancing into the direction of the caravan, that was around a kilometer away.

“We’re gonna raid it. I mean, we need some clothes, if possible armor to hide our identity before we enter a city. So we just gonna steal their stuff, and buy new armor later for us.” Ogron explained.

“Cool,” Otaz immediately jumped onto his legs in enthusiasm, only for Ogron to shake his head. “You my friend, will be needed here. After all, somebody gotta protect our dear master.”

Simaev chuckled, and Otaz groaned in disappointment.

A few minutes later, the duo, Ogron and Simaev stood atop a hill, looking down at the caravan below.

By now, the moon was shining brightly, and the traveleres, consisting of around thirty people were in high spirits, laughing and singing around the camp. The warmth of the fire and the sound of the merriment made Ogron feel a pang of envy and longing for the comforts of civilization.

“Their armor doesn’t look too shabby,” Ogron quietly admitted as his gaze were fixed at one of the travellers that looked way too drunk and was standing rather far from his peers.

Simaev nodded. “Unfortunally there isn’t a single female person, nor do any of them match my physique. Well, I will just rob that twink and call it a day.”

“Remember, we don’t want to alert anyone,” Ogron quietly, whispered before creeping down towards their chosen prey. They moved slowly and stealthily, not daring to disturb any of the sleeping travelers, as they used the surrounding trees and high grass as coverage.

Within a few minutes, Ogron reached his target first. The man was standing away from the group and was taking a piss, as suddenly he got knocked out by a swift blow from the butt of Ogron’s spear.

Ogron quickly caught the unconscious body, to prevent any unnecessary sound, before dragging the man with him into the darkness.

By now, Simaev was quietly standing on top of a branch, as her target talked two meters below her with another person. Her weapon of choice, the bow was completely useless in such a situation. She weighed her options, trying to come up with a plan that wouldn’t alert the rest fo the caravan. She gritted her teeth in frustration, knowing damn well that if she failed, Ogron will be making fun of her for the rest of their journey. “Fine, I just have to knock two people unconscious at the same time…”

Minutes began to pass, and as Ogron watched Simaev from, he started worrying. “Trying to knock two people out at the same time… Quite daring… Well, let’s see what her pride will cost us.”

Just as he was about to intervene, Simaev made her move and jumped quietly behind the two, using her momentum to deliver a swift downward swing with her fist against their head.

However, what she didn’t anticipate, was that the sound of their bodies collapsing would be loud enough to attract the attention of a few nearby travelers.

“A skeleton,” shouted one of them in panic, causing the camp to erupt in chaos as people drew their weapons and Simaev froze in place. “Shit,” she cursed as she summoned a glowing dagger.

Ogron sighed and shook his head as he watched the scene unfold. “Fine, I guess I just have to kill everyone,” he muttered before jumping into action, charging straight towards the neared group of travelers.

Like a roaring monster, he threw his spear, nailing two travelers in the stomach area, only to reappear on top of them, stomp their heads to mush and throw his spear at the next person.

He didn’t even waste more than a single second to kill someone, and when one one of them dared to attack him from behind, he merely grabbed the blade, before delivering a kick to the neck with such force that the sound of brocken bones echoed.

Meanwhile, Simaev was surrounded by a group of warriors each holding a sword. But despite the disadvantage, she remained unfazed and gracefully evaded their attacks while tossing her glowing daggers with deadly precision, and after getting out of the circle, Simaev manifested her bow, and was ready to let carnage follow.

By now, the people were screaming in terror, as they tried to flee from the scene, knowing full damn well that they were no match for the skeleton minions.

But who said that Simaev or Orgron would let any of them flee? Simaev immediately raised her bow, aiming towards the fleeing travelers before shooting faster then one could count. Each of her shots hit her target with precision on the forehead or neck throat area.

The two of them had no intention of letting any of them survive.

On top of the hill, Otaz quietly watched the carnage unfold while carrying Az on his back. “Seems like Simaev got caught,” he sighed before turning back and walking towards their own camp. “I’m not gonna clean up that mess.”
