Ch. 52: Introducing Lotte to the Oigen Group

I tell Lotte about my new Research Lab and my general line of work at the Academy.

Werner: “Basically, I will continue to perform my research at the Marquis’ mansion’s separate lodging, so feel free to use this space as you like.” Lotte: “Thank you very much.” Werner: “They have all of the basic Magecraft Artifact Research equipment, so you should have everything you need.” Lotte: “Um, Master?” Werner: “Hm?”

Lotte: “If this is your Research Lab, shouldn’t we also have a Barrier protecting this space at all times as well?” Werner: “.....................that’s true.” Because I haven’t begun my research and experiments here, I haven’t needed to protect this space yet.

But once I do, it will be necessary to do so.

And if Lotte will be using this facility, then it is essential that I protect this laboratory.

Werner: “Lotte, are you done with all your classes for today?” Lotte: “Yes, I have no more classes today. Once I was done eating lunch, I was planning on visiting Master’s Research Lab.”

Werner: “I see. If you don’t mind, please come with me after lunch.” Lotte: “Yes! Gladly!”

And Lotte began to eat her food more quickly.

Werner: “You don’t have to eat so fast.”

Hati: “That’s right! Hati wants to enjoy her food longer!”

Lotte: “Yes, thank you very much.” As we finish our meal and dessert, we head to the Research Facility, or rather, the Research Lab room.

The guards follow us as well.

Lotte: “So this is your new Research Lab, Master?” Werner: “Yes. For now, let’s put up a barrier.”

I check to make sure there is no one suspicious inside, as I take a Barrier Generating Artifact and activate it.

Werner: “I’ll make sure that Lotte, you will be able to open it.”

Lotte: “ThーThank you very much.”

Now, Lotte will be able to come and go as she pleases here.

Afterwards, we headed outside of the Academy.

Once we were out of the building, a horse carriage specifically for Lotte’s traveling came over.

Drawn by a large horse-like Magic Creature, it was an impressive carriage.

Its size is also to be able to accommodate the guards as well.

Werner: “Lotte, there is a place I want to drop by on the way.”

Lotte: “Yes, where do you want to go?”

Werner: “I want to visit the Oigen Merchant Group……” Lotte: “Understood.” And Lotte proceeded to give directions to the carriage driver.

The driver nodded once and began moving the carriage forward.

Lotte: “I know about the Oigen Group. They had a store in my hometown as well.” The Oigen Group is a very large organization, so it didn’t surprise me to hear that.

Werner: “I see. The Oigen Group has been handling some of the Magecraft Artifacts I designed.”

Lotte: “I see. Now that you say that, the Magecraft Artifacts sold by the Oigen Group definitely had some distinct Master-like characteristics!”

Werner: “I’m surprised that you caught on to that.” Hati: “Lotte is a very special girl!”

And Hati proceeded to approvingly pat Lotte on the head very aggressively.

Hati seems to enjoy patting people on the head and uses every chance she can get.

If I saw a cat, I would do the same thing, so I guess it’s similar to that. I understand how she feels.

We rode the carriage for a while, and finally arrived in front of the Oigen Merchant Group.

Noticing the extravagant carriage being pulled by large Magical Horse Creatures, the store employees lined up to greet us outside the front door.

Looks like they set up a welcome for us.

We had the guards remain outside, and Lotte, Hati, and I got out of the carriage.

“Sir Werner! What an honor to see you again! Welcome to our humble establishment.”

One of the veteran clerks I know lowered their head to greet me.

Werner: “Is Mr. Oigen available?” “Yes, he is currently on his way to meet with you.”

We were guided to one of the Oigen Merchant Group’s meeting rooms.

They served us tea and snacks, and as Hati was happily enjoying the delicacies, Oigen came into the room.

Oigen: “Sir Werner, thank you so much for coming to my store once again.”

Oigen was slightly out of breath.

Werner: “Good afternoon. You didn’t have to rush over so quickly.”

Oigen: “Oh, no, no, no! I would not dare to take any more of your precious time, Sir Werner!”

And Oigen glanced over at Lotte who was sitting next to me.

It was his way of asking me to introduce her to him silently.

Werner: “Oigen, this is my disciple, Charlotte Chantelle Lamette. Please take good care of her going forward.”

Lotte: “Sir Oigen. It is a pleasure making your acquaintance. I am Charlotte Chantelle Lamette. Please just call me Lotte.” Oigen: “Oh… OHHH! Your royal highness, Princess Charlotte! The pleasure is all mine.” And Oigen seemed to have known about Lotte.

Lotte: “I am but a humble disciple of my Master. If you could address me as such…..” Oigen: “As you wish.” If I can introduce them to each other, I’m sure that it’ll be helpful once she returns to the Lamette Kingdom.

That was my thought.

And Oigen and Lotte also understand as well.

When Lotte returns to her country, I’m sure the Oigen Merchant Group will be able to help her in many ways.

And if the Oigen Group has close ties to the Princess of the Lamette Kingdom, it should be good for his business image as well.

That was why I wanted to introduce them to each other.

Werner: “Now then, Oigen. I came here today to introduce a new Magecraft Artifact that I designed.”

Oigen: “Oh! How wonderful! And what kind of Artifact have you designed?”

Werner: “It’s this.” I take out the hot water maker and bread baking Magecraft Artifact from my Magic Bag.

Oigen: “There are two!!”

Werner: “One of them is an improvement to a previous design.”

And I began explaining the tools in detail to Oigen.

Oigen: “These will most definitely sell.”

Werner: “I hope so. I brought over notes so that your Group’s Magecraft Artisans can build these tools.”

Oigen: “Thank you very much, Sir Werner. You are incredibly gracious to do so.”

And OIgen took us to his Magecraft Artifact Factory.

Though they will have the notes, there are some things that would be faster to explain in person.

In the factory, there were 10 Magecraft Artisans.

And among them, one of them lit up when they saw us.

“Oh! Professor Strout!”

And came running over to us.
