Unfortunately, before we could set foot on the dance floor, both my and Peter's phones started buzzing, causing a grimace to appear on our faces.
Seeing the caller ID, we can only sigh in annoyance before moving out of the gun, where Peter finally answers.
"Good evening Mr. Stark, we are kinda busy... Why are you calling?" Peter asks, a bit bothered by being bothered while we were at the ball.
"I need you to help me with something," Tony says, causing me to roll my eyes.
"What kind of something?" Peter asks, nearly snickering, having noticed my antics.
"Do you remember that fucker with the flying suit?" Tony asks, unaware or uninterested in our expressions.
"Yes, and I remember you telling us to stay out of this." I finally say, taking the phone from Peter's hands.
"Well, things change, and now he is trying to steal a plane full of really dangerous tech that left the avengers towers a couple of minutes ago." He replies, unbothered by the change of speaker.
"I still don't understand why you are calling us?" I ask again, unsure why he can't take care of it himself.
"I wouldn't if you weren't the only ones near enough to arrive before that fucker hijacked the plane," Tony says, unwilling to admit that he needs to rely on kids to have his things back.
"Fine, we'll save your plane. But next time you move extremely dangerous tech, put some guards on the transport." I replied, annoyed with the entire situation, and committed to ending it as swiftly as possible, to return to the ball in time.
"I'll send you the GPS of the transponder, but you must hurry, it could be easily deactivated, and then the plane would be nearly impossible to find." He keeps explaining, not bothered but my annoyed tone.
"Start sending. We will depart in a minute," I say before cutting down the call.
"I hate him," I say to Peter while we move toward our secret stash in the school, ready to change into our costumes.
"Came on, it's not his fault..." Peter replies, less bothered by the situation.
"It's his fault that it's the night of our fucking ball. He could have chosen another night, but no." I keep ranting, recuperating our gears, before moving to the roof.
"So, how do we reach the plane?" Peter asks, unsure of my plan.
"We'll fly," I answer while we start changing.
"Yeah, but I can't fly," Peter says with a confused face.
"And that's why I'll transform into something able to fly and transport you." I say after rolling my eyes, deciding to quickly end this situation to return to the ball as soon as possible.
Unlike Peter, I don't change in my costume, remaining in my underwear, fully aware that it won't survive the change.
I really hope that Tony found a way to create an adaptable costume that will change to accommodate my different forms... Well, at least I know that he will make one based on nanotechnology in the future, and with that, I won't be naked at least.
As soon as he is ready, I start changing, morphing from a humanoid to a giant bird of prey.
Suddenly my arms are wings, and my legs are talons, and in an instant, I am a giant Pidgeot.
I take a couple of seconds to acclimate to the new form before signaling Peter to climb on my back and then fly out from the roof.
As I can't use my phone to check the plane's position, I am forced to get directions from Peter, that has to pilot our flight while holding himself. Luckily for both of us, even in this form, I can catch his thoughts, removing the need for communication in the middle of a high-speed flight.
It doesn't take us a lot to reach the plane, even if I can't fly too fast due to Peter's presence and weight, but then the problem of entering presents itself.
Uncaring of its paint job, I plant my talons on the plane roof, creating a pair of deep gouges that probably will need more than a simple paint over to cover.

Knowing that my previous move has likely made our presence known, I decided that being direct would probably be the best strategy.
Concentrating my energy on my beak, I peck the roof, punching through the hull like a hot knife through butter.
Another couple of pecks, and soon enough the plane has a hole big enough that I can throw Peter down there.
As I do, I send a mental message, telling him to take care of the vulture, and that I would fly around the plane to stop him in case of an escape.
Soon after freeing myself, I turn into a smaller bird of prey, a falcon with orange feathers that creates a flame-like pattern. In this talonflame form, I was faster, even if the smaller frame would not have given me the chance to easily transport Peter.
Circling the plane, I can't see what's happening inside, but I'm confident that Peter will be ok.
<Peter's pov>
I'm thrown inside the shaking plane, as the wind caused by the decompression decreases significantly, even if the air inside the plane has become quite thin.
Luckily for me, the plane didn't fly at a high altitude, or it would have been quite problematic.
Unwilling to let my mind wander on the chance of flying out of a plane, and being quite bothered by the ringing alarm, I start searching around, ready to find the winged fellow.
Unfortunately, I am still dizzied by my entrance, making me unable to notice the Vulture, that suddenly appears behind me, throwing a punch with a strange gauntlet.
I barely have time to block with my arm before the gauntlet produces a powerful force that launches me against a series of boxes that shatter as I impact them.
"I was right in bringing this with me and expecting someone to try to stop me." Vulture says, chuckling as I see him for the first time.
"Well, if you didn't try to steal a plane, I am sure no one would be here needing to stop you," I reply, getting out of the box's debris, ready to attack him.
"You say it like I'm doing something wrong. I'm simply taking from the rich and giving to the poor, like myself. I'm a novel, Robin Hood." He says while keeping his eyes on me, ready to react to any moves.
"You are selling dangerous weapons to criminals." I spat, enraged by his shameful words.
"I'm doing what I must, kid. If Stark and damage control didn't ruin the living of hundreds of people in this city, I wouldn't need to do this." He replies with a grave, serious tone, different from the previous one.
"Then stop, it's not too late," I say, hoping for a moment that he will give up, stopping this madness that wouldn't end well.
"It is... The FBI is trying to catch me, and I need to have a big hit before I can disappear. A man must provide for his family after all." He says before pressing a button, causing several pings from various devices strapped on the inside of the plane.
Gears start spinning in my head as I see multiple objects, that I can recognize as improvised timed bombs, around me, causing me to disregard the now fleeting man to devise a strategy to prevent the plane from exploding.
I end up using my webs, detaching all the beeping bombs, tying them together, and throwing them through the hole I used to jump in.
Luckily, I can do so just in time, as the package flies out of the hull just as the number reaches 0, triggering the explosion and destroying both the engine and the stabilizers on the tail.
I can't even take a break when suddenly the plane starts rolling and losing height, throwing me against the cargo.
Cursing at the damn guy that bombed this plane, I ran to the cabin, hoping that I would be able to stabilize the plane enough to land outside the city.
Damn you Mr.Stark... tonight I simply wanted to have a dance with Sig, why couldn't you move all this shit with a bit of supervision?!
