“Finally,” I say as I finally start a fire. I stare at my hands bloody and raw but somewhat proud of myself for being able to start a fire from scratch not once but twice.

“I sooooo should have joined the boy scouts,” I say while washing my hands in the nearby waterfall “I have no doubt I would have a whole sash of badges”. I walk back to the campfire and stare at it for a while pondering how I should proceed.

“There really is no telling how deep this cave goes so I should probably eat that honey salmon before I go exploring, I would hate to suffer from starvation an hour or so into exploring.” I walk towards the jungle and grab the perfect stick for cooking. The thought of how I cooked the steak before and how the steak fell off and into the dirt and ash makes me internally cry.

“Let’s try this a little different,” I say while pulling a stone knife out of my inventory. I cut the stick right down the middle, so the stick resembles a V-shape. I then pull the honey salmon out of inventory as well as some bindings. I put the honey salmon between the V-shape stick and clamp down hard and tie the other end with the bindings.

“Well it ain’t no panini press but it will do,” I say as I hold it over the open fire. After a few moments of it cooking it starts to smell delicious. I let it cook for a little longer until it I believe it looks cooked, I take my stone knife and make a little cut in the middle of the salmon.

“Well, its not pink in the middle so I’m guessing that’s a good sign” I say as I take bite out of it.

“Hmmm not only is this salmon delicious it comes with some really nice perks” I say while finishing off the honey salmon.

“Okay now that I got my belly full its time to light these torches but first” I say as I pull out the lessor mana potion. I uncork the vial of blue liquid and give it a big whiff.

“Still smells like blueberries, but here comes the nasty taste” I say as I throw the blue liquid down my throat but to my surprise it doesn’t taste bad it actually tastes like Kool-Aid.

***Recovery status***
Due to the lessor mana potion – 25% Increase to MP recovery rate.

“Well that’s not too surprising, I mean the lessor health potion was 25% increase to HP recovery rate its no surprise the Mana Potion would be the same.” I look at my campfire and then at the cave, and I let out a sigh.

“Alright let’s get started with my spelunking adventure” I say as I pull one of the torches I found at the entrance of the cave and hold it towards the fire.

“I wonder if I can put this lit torch in my inventory or would it give me some error message” I say out loud as I open my inventory screen and push the lit torch into my inventory. As the torch passes through the screen it disappears.

[Lit Torch] has been added to your inventory.

Basic Lit Torch:
+2 Fire DMG, Durability: 1:00:00…..59:59

***Notice***

Basic Torch:

Lit Basic Torch:

0/2 Fire Element

“Well, that answers that” I say as I craft 15 more torches. I light one torch and put it into my inventory to test the effects my inventory will have on it. I wait a few minutes pacing back and forth hoping it will work like I think it will. After a few more minutes pass I finally pull out the lit torch out of my inventory.

Basic Lit Torch:
+1 Fire DMG, Durability: 1:00:00…..59:59

“Sweet it looks like the durability doesn’t go down while it’s in my inventory that is so OP” I say with a big smile on my face. I then light the remaining torches in my makeshift campfire and store each one in my inventory.

“I got to make sure I always have one lit torch in my inventory at all times it’ll make lighting a fire like a caveman a thing of the past” I say as I put the last lit torch in my inventory.

“Alright let’s go exploring” I say to myself as I make my way into the cave. I walk for around 30 feet into the cave and the first thing I notice was the smell. It smells like mold on top of mold on top of mold, I would be surprised if I don’t find a plethora of mushrooms growing everywhere. I continue walking through the cave with my torch in hand until I get to a section of the cave that diverts into two paths. I move my torch towards the one on the left and it looks like nothing but darkness then I do the same to the one on the right and it’s the same as the one on the left.

“Well right is always right,” I say to myself as I walk down the right path. I walk about another 20 feet until I come to a dead end. I wave my torch around the sides of the dead end looking for some way past it that is until I see some writing in the center of the wall. It doesn’t look like any language I recognize but I instinctively know that it says, “DEAD END NOW YOUR DEAD”.

“Now you’re dead what does that mean” I say as I take a step back. As I’m taking a step back, I hear a click as my foot steps on what looks like a small pressure plate.

“That can’t be good,” I say as I hear some grinding noises coming from behind me “defiantly not good”. Within a few seconds, the grinding noise stops and immediately after it stops a loud gunshot is heard throughout the cave. I instantly fall to the ground trying desperately to avoid being shot by this clear booby trap.

The shooting continued for what seemed like 5 minutes but could have been 5 seconds for all I knew it was all just one big blur. Once I was confident the shooting wouldn’t continue, I slowly got off the ground and made my way to where the shooting took place. In the wall pointing towards the dead end were around 10 riffles with strings wrapped around the trigger.

“It looks like they were set to go off one after the other” I say as I try to pull out one. I pull with all my might, but it becomes apparent to me that these riffles are welded to the wall and are not going anywhere.

“Damn it would have been cool to have a gun” I say as I shrug. I walk back to where the path drifted to two different sections and this time, I take the left path. As I walk I am now wary of where I step basically terrified I will step on another booby trap now that I know this place could be littered with them.

I walk for another 20 minutes walking almost as slowly as possible scanning every surface as the cave slowly twists and turns as I go deeper and deeper into the cave. I suddenly hear a groaning sound, the sound almost sounds like a person or it could be another monster slowly walking towards me. I slowly place my torch on the ground and walk backwards into the shadows behind me. I listen as the sounds of footsteps and the groaning get closer and closer; I hold my breath as I see the figure walk into the light of my torch.

The figure in front me could be taken as a person, as it has clothes and has what looks like a pistol in a holster attached to its hip and sword on his opposite hip, however unlike a human this person has pale green skin with a portion of its jaw hanging off its face with what looks like an exit wound on the side of its forehead.

TARGET: Cursed Guardian of the Dodola Cave:
HP: ??/??
MP: ??/??
Stamina: ??/??

I pull out a stone spear, and I wait patiently as the guardian gets within a few feet of me. Once the guardian is within striking distance, I lunge my spear towards its face. To my surprise the Guardian doesn’t dodge or rush towards me like I assumed he would he just simply opens its mouth and bites down on the tip of my spear shattering it to pieces.

The guardian groans heavily as it slowly walks towards me, seeing that it’s not rushing me like most monsters I’ve encountered so far it gives me enough time to pull out my remaining bone axe. Once the guardian is almost face to face with me, I put out my leg and kick it as hard as I can in the chest sending it flying backwards. As it stumbles to the ground, I rush towards it placing my foot on its chest again pining it to the floor. I raise my axe narrowly missing the top of the ceiling and I bring it down as hard as I can on top of its skull that is until I feel the guardian reach up and grab my arm before it reaches my target.

I try to pull back, but the guardian is a lot stronger than I thought it would be. I then suddenly feel an intense pain on my forearm, as I look down, I see that the guardians head is no longer on its shoulders and is teeth are now lodged in my forearm. I try desperately to pull my hands back, but the guardians’ hands are still wrapped around my wrists and refuses to let go. I feel the guardians’ teeth seek even deeper into my forearm as it tries to move up the rest of my forearm.

I struggle to get free of it, but no amount of shaking will release me from its bite. I kick its shoulders as hard as possible in a desperate attempt to loosen its grip on my hands. To my surprise as I kick its shoulder it comes detached from its torso, but it does not loosen its grip on my hands.

“Fucking let go asshole” I yell at the guardian as I kick its other shoulder which comes off just like the first one. I can still feel its grasp on my hands getting tighter even though its arms aren’t attached to anything. I can now move my arms again, therefore I immediately start bashing my arms against the walls of the cave trying desperately to hit the guardians’ skull against solid rock. After a few strikes against the cave walls, I feel the guardians’ teeth let go as well as its hands around mine. I still hear the groaning noise, so I know it’s not dead yet, I try scanning the area but it’s still too dark to really see anything with the only light coming from my torch.

I rush towards my torch and away from the groaning noise of the guardian. With my torch now in hand I start scanning the area again looking for the guardian, after a while I hear the groaning getting loader and loader. I raise my torch towards the groaning and instead of seeing an intact guardian like I assume there would be he is in fact missing a crucial part of its body………its head. Before my mind can process the headless guardian, I feel another intense pain but this time instead of my arm it’s in my legs.

With every passing second, I feel the guardians’ bite getting harder and harder. Out of desperation I shove my torch down onto the guardians face, and as soon as my torch comes into contact with it, it immediately lets go.

“Suck it bitch” I say as I watch the guardian's face start to catch on flames. I rush towards the flaming skull and kick it just like a soccer ball right at the body of the guardian. The guardians body begins to catch on fire as the body struggles to put the fire out. After watching for a moment of it struggling with the fire, I decide not to waste this moment and I rush towards the guardian. Once I get within a few feet of it I burry my bone axe directly on the burning skull. The guardian stops struggling and the fire emits over its entire body, and it falls over dead or in better terms dead again.

“God that sucked” I say as Look at my wounded arm and leg.

“First aid” I say as I raise my hand. As soon as the words leave my lips I feel a cooling warmth on my open wounds that almost feels like menthol.

“Oh yeah that’s the stuff” I say as I watch my wounds close up in a matter of seconds. With my wounds now healed I walk to up to the charred body of the guardian.

“Now time for the good stuff” I say as I lean down towards the charred body and place my hand on its chest.

Would you like to loot the [Cursed Guardian of the Dodola Cave]
Yes/No

I click on the yes icon, and to my surprise instead of seeing the normal red cracks that I have come accustomed to the cracks are now glowing green. On top of the cracks glowing green the cracks are growing at a rapid pace way beyond on what I faced with the other monsters. Lastly, once the green cracks has overtaken the charred body it doesn’t dissolve and just immediately turns into red smoke.

“Red smoke that’s new” I say as I raise my hand to let the smoke enter my body. Once the smoke has been fully dissolved into my body, I feel an unfamiliar feeling course through my body. The feeling still feels foreign just like the normal black smoke however this time I feel a sense of clarity wash over me that goes slowly into to my head.

“Oh man now I got a gun and a sword, I feel like a real badass now” I say as I hold the saber in one hand and the pistol in the other hand. I put both weapons back in my inventory and retrieve the Will of the Guardian. I hold in my hand a black smokey glass sphere with a bright white center, its cool to the touch but pulses with heat every few moments.

“Lets put you back for now, there maybe a use for you later on,” I say as I store the glass sphere back in my inventory. With my loot now situated I continue my journey through the cave, I walk for roughly 30 minutes without incident but with most things in life everything comes to an end. I hear more groaning almost identical to the guardians groans off in the distance and to my horror it sounds like its more than one. I remove the pistol from my inventory and as I turn the corner my torch illuminates 4 more guardians.

“Alright let’s dance assholes” I say as I raise my pistol towards the closest guardian and once it gets a few inches away from me I open fire at its head. The guardians head explodes and falls to the ground dead again but firing a gun deep in a cave probably wasn’t the smartest decision.

“Shit that hurts” I say as I drop the pistol and hold my ears in pain.
