The ground trembled lightly. "What are they doing down there?" Looking at the hole while looting the remade corpse.
'Should I go down there or leave? If i leave i don't know where I'm going, I remember where the village from the mab vaguely. There's also food and safety, I don't have enough information.
But if I go down there's two corpse lovers and an undefined number of mobs, and I got no defensive measures. But if they are in a tuff spot and I help they'll own me, mainly Lynn she might be rich, having a bodyguard. I'll look at least, if it's not salvageable I'll disappear.'
Going down the first room was small, barely bigger than one and a half meters width and length. Peeking in the main room, it was much bigger and a heated fight was playing out.
Letoy was struggling to fight off several zombies (two of which are headless) from getting to a bleeding and unconscious Lynn. Alex had some kind of spectral thing with him fighting the old necromancer who was using his staff as a spear, summoning bone and earth spikes with every block and attack. And the young necromancer was concentrating on something, by my guess the zombies as their moves are sharper and relentless attacks.
Observing, it became more clear the younger was controlling the zombies and quite well at that, Letoy was left with only using small cuts with wind to try and stagger the onslaught as most of his energy needed to go to defending two people. On the side of Alex and the older it was going much better, although it is a stalemate the gold ghost cuts down the spikes that would have hit Alex leaving him in a much better state than Taris who had several cuts and a nasty looking gash. I wonder how long he would be able to keep up that thing.
'If I do help I should wait till they get desperate, that way I can max brownie points.'
And so I waited, Alex was slowing down, his ghost now overlapping him like a suit of armor to better defend. Letoy basically made a ball of wind and was hoping for the best. One of the zombies fighting had a magic weapon apparently, burning the area around the wind dome. Now would be the time for some selective heroism.
I started to charge my mana into my hand, holding it up to the wooden door I was peeking through.
"Vector Arrow!"
A long black spiral arrow flashed towards the old necromancer. He almost immediately felt the hostility and stopped his attacks on Alex, putting up a thick stone wall in-between them, and started chanting. The wall bought him a second as the arrow pierced through and slammed into his staff. It would have slid off and cut off his head if he didn't fall backwards phasing through the ground, only taking a deep laceration to his shoulder.
With a few burdened pants I pointed my palm at the young necromancer, charging another.
Panicky dropping his staff he raises his hands up to a charging Alex "I- I surrender!" A vector arrow pierced his heart before Alex was close.
Alex slows down and looks disapprovingly at me before changing directions and moving to Lynn. Letoy already had some liquid out and was cleaning the wound. After a bit of healing from Alex Letoy carried her out of the underground and Alex sucked the young necromancer into a piece of paper.

Outside the old necromancer sat propped up on a tree. His chest and shoulder looks like they've been split apart. 'Damn looks like I did more damage than I thought.'
… … …
It's been about two days since the fight, Lynn was back on her feet, figuratively, she had a pearl that summoned an earth horse. I probably would have been impressed if late Naruto wasn't filled with crazy shit, still leaves a bad taste, how I left…
But enough of that, I've been practicing my magic while on the road with them, Letoy was surprising happy to answer my incredibly dumb questions about magic. By the time the group town I could feel mana circling my heart and could move it around my body with effort.
The night guards went to check us but Lynn pulled out a card making the guards back off and apologize. We walked through the street for a long time, eventually ending up in front of a mansion. This time the guards here immediately recognized the party, although skeptically staring at me they let me in without a word.
The inside was filled with paintings and silver tapestry telling a story. Several extravagant armors and weapons were on pedestals. And the skeletal head of a… actually i don't know it's too wide and short to be a dragon but it's still big as hell, i couldn't help but slow down and look at the armors.
"Damn you guys are rich…"
I was looking at a fine red chainmail piece with a floral web design when a butler walked up to get me.
"The armor of Jace the unmatched. He was exceptional in duals and was a close friend of the estate." The butler explained putting on a friendly voice, unfortunately it didn't cover his old and judgemental tone. "Sir Letoy has asked us to prepare a bath and bed for you, Mr. Remmus, please follow me."
I didn't argue, none of the shirts they had would have fit me so I was still in the bloodied shirt and pants I was in when I first woke up, it was crusty with blood and was incredibly disgusting, I would not be surprised if they incinerated it after this.
I pasted several more paintings showing great battles and a man trapped in a second moon on my way down the hall. Something to look up whenever I get the chance.
The bathing room was nothing special, just a mid-sized room with a kiddie pool sized wooden tub. It wasn't anything fancy and that was ok, I'm practically a random civilian with nothing special, why would they give me a good guest room. They most likely would have gotten someone to take me to the guild immediately if it wasn't night.
Anyway, getting pajamas from the butler, he showed me to my room for the night. Finally in a comfortable bed it didn't take long for me to sleep.
