In the grass a short distance from the huge, jet-black building that looks like the mansion of some RPG demon lord, I laid in wait under one of the bushes spread on the grassland around the Mansion.
Why am I here? Because while the building over there is part of the Territory of Damavand-Mansion, the full size of said Territory is 5 km. Not that we can make use of the air space that makes up the 2nd and 3rd upper floors, which also acts as a height limit for the mansion, but the underground floors are a different story!
The real Dungeon starts on floor 3, and there's even a special entrance for it hidden in the grassland here. The first two underground floors are withheld and used as a cellar/prison for the mansion, and the ox demon is located in the deepest cell down there.
That is why I had the time to prepare a trap for the invader~. They need to travel around 5 kilometers times 2 to reach the ox demon secured down there. Not to mention all the traps and spawned monsters. Noire did some sorta trick to treat the second "basement" floor as the Dungeon's 10th floor, so there's a lot of spawned monsters there as well.
I can see Noire and Jeeves the Phantom butler (butler of the Phantom race, do note) have chosen their favorites here.
Anyway, we moved here and got to know about the invader who'd treated Noire and Jeeves like garbage and left them as roadkill. Turns out this guy is using Sound- and Vibration attribute skills that can bounce around on surfaces until it hits a target.
Strange stuff. But it would suck to be hit with it and turn into something as pathetic as Noire (Jeeves is left out), so we decided to make a trap outside, where there are no walls for bouncy sounds or vibrations...
It's been around three hours now, but the invader has finally started to return to the surface. He's currently making havoc on the first basement floor, dressed in an emerald suit and wearing a full-face helmet of the same color...why a biker helmet?
Ignoring the strange clothing, he could be hip at a party. He's pretty tall, around 180 cm or so, and he's lean and well-trained enough that even the suit can't hide that...but why a biker helmet?
"Hey, shouldn't we have the sound on?" asked GM who was lying in wait with me in the bushes.
"...you wanna hear what this guy is shouting about?" - Garami
He's been shouting something all this time. That much I can deduce from the surveillance video on my Dungeon Terminal...but why a biker helmet!?
"If he uses sounds, we should find out just how he uses it before engaging him, no?" - GM
Ah...I did try to escape this by putting points into Knowledge to up its rank to [D] so I could look at the guy's stats through the Dungeon Terminal. That's how the Dungeon unlocked the Dark High Elves. I added them to the Mansion while I was waiting.
Still, the "Dungeon-Identification" got blocked for some reason. Likely a skill........., fine. Mute, off...but seriously, why a biker helmet!!?
["Bwa-hahahaaha!! You miserable clads of ectoplasm! Try to prove your fictional worth as worthless meat shields for the imaginary beings that guard this pitiful excuse of a demon who cannot even get herself to say no to anyone despite her tsundere-ish attitude! Come at me! Bwa-hahahaha! BWA-HAHAHAHAHA!!"]
...this guy's seriously getting on my nerves.
"Confirmed. The-enemy-owns-the--[Diabolic Laughter]-skill." - GM
"Why're you talking like a robot?" - Garami
"Because-I-did-not-hear-anything-regarding-tsun-" - GM
*Smack*
That's one fly less in the world. As for the emerald buzzer fly...let's break out the AMR Usurper after a long while~. I've not used this guy since Tir na Nog~. Well, more because I never had any bullets for it. Armveil recently finished a new one from the remains of the Wild Hunt Lord that used to be sealed in the mansion. And it's gonna be used for a great purpose!
...sounds of explosions and screams are coming from the mansion. They aren't sounding like the screams of the spawned monsters...heck, those things aren't capable of stuff like screaming or showing emotions. They're closer to walking dolls...which is pretty terrifying, truth be told. I only agreed on spawning Kur Kigals in the Core because that look fits their "professional killer"-style, but why Dark Elves? I can't understand Noire's tastes...
The screams are getting closer. After Karnel, who's hiding somewhere closer to the entrance, stops the invader's tracks with his Earth Magic, Noire, Rald, and Mira will storm at him from the mansion. And while he's distracted, the Ursurper's gonna howl.........?
"BWA-HAHAHAHAHA!! As expected from someone with as flat a chest as yours! No sympathy and mercy to be found!!" - Invader
"SHUT UP! And stand still so I can make a pincushion out of you!!" - Noire
...eh, hello? What about the plan?
I looked on with a headache building up as I saw the green-suited invader escape while laughing like a madman out of the mansion with Noire on his tail. And the single-brain cell Celestial is firing a huge amount of ballista-sized arrows while riding on that Specter Dragon Mimic she tamed in Tir na Nog.
"...did Noire change her class to Berserker?" asked GM who had woken up, not needing any scope to see the situation.
As for the invader, he nimbly escaped the huge arrows and the breath attack of Raoul, the Specter Dragon Mimic, Though, some smaller and probably faster arrows were stuck on his back and in his helmet...there's even blood splurting out of it.
"BWA-HAHAHAHA! BWA-BWA-BWA-HAHAHAHA!!" - Invader
Not that it's slowing this guy down. His speed (and tension) is not dropping despite being wounded all over and having to carry that huge bag that seems to be made of skin and bones over his shoulder...
"Is that the ox demon?" - Garami
"Most likely." - GM
"...didn't I tell Noire to treat him "gently" when she lirked out info from the guy?" - Garami
I mean, the guy looks half-dead to me, as he's hanging on the invader's shoulder. This could be bad, as the guy is most likely a high-ranking noble of Solomar. Not every household there is supporting the demon king, but roughly treating one noble, no matter the circumstances, would be seen in a bad light by the rest of the demonic nobility...
At least, that's what Blot told me, so I had Noire, the one most used to both nobles and Solomar, be the warden for that guy. Did I make a mistake in trusting her with this assignment?
"It's likely that the invader's high speed was too strenuous for the demon. Or, we can make that excuse in case someone charge us for that." - GM
"You're getting more devious by the day." - Garami
"I have to." - GM
I looked at GM with amazement over her ridiculous statement when a flash of lightning came out from the entrance of the mansion. No need to double-check there. It's Mira. And she seems to have had a class change along with Noire.
"Get back here, you no-good mercenary!!" - Mira
"Bwa-hahahahaha! Is this the gratitude you show for the person who smuggled you out of Solomar, o sprite who has been thinking of reducing her training hours out of fear that her muscles have begun to turn too hard for her owner's taste?" - Invader
"Th-th-they're not hard! And you drained my wallet for that service! And I didn't even ask for it!!" - Mira
Ho, he's someone who helped Mira before? Guess your workplace isn't deciding whether you're a bad guy or not.
And Mira, you're not commenting about the "owner"-part?
You are reading story A Reincarnated Demon’s Life of Wonder at novel35.com
"Bwa-hahahaha! Be glad, sprite of machoism, that your list of embarrassing secrets is not as large as that of the so-called Celestial misfit of a princess that hails from the dead country in the sky, who would gladly follow someone of different noble blood than yourself just from them gifting you some simple compliments about your beauty despite you secretly purchasing breast-enlarging magitechs!" - Invader
"WH-WH-WH-WH-WH-WH-WH-WH-!! You're DEAD!!" - Noire
There's a lot of stuff I wanna comment about that revelation just now, but most importantly: there are breast-enlarging magitechs!? I gotta have Flint mass-produce those!
Both girls seemed to be past their rage point and prepared their greatest attacks. Mira slashed with her new greatsword, clad in electricity and light, while Noire nicked two arrows of light, one golden and one dark-colored, at the invader. However...
"BWA-HAHAHAHA! [Sonic Counter]! [Sonic Counter]!! AND [Sonic Counter]!!!" - Invader
With just one hand, the invader sent Mira flying after countering her attack (doesn't look like she took any damage herself) right before he knocked away both of Noire's energy arrows with simple palm strikes. No, maybe "simple" isn't the right word. I could see lots of MP being used there.
Mira managed to land without any big damage or broken necks, but the arrows...
*Boom!* *BOOM!*
"GYAAAA!!" - Karnel
...landed right where Karnel was hiding!
"HEY, you quack Celestial! Watch where you're aiming, idiot!" - Garami
"The idiot is you! Why're you revealing yourself like that!?" - Noire
Ah...sorry.
"BWA-HAHAHAHA!! As the brilliant me concluded, the homely devil-child who packed as much sexual frustration as a succubus having a "white month" after having to stay separated from her arm-candy for more than a month due to the false festival she foolishly believed would grant her cheap yet great powers-hey! Don't attack me while I'm goading!" - Invader
I ignored his plights for mercy AND that I also spoiled the trap as I kept on firing Chaotic Bullets at that freak of nature. But he's dodging with such speed that he's leaving afterimages behind! Is this the power of the Sound- and/or the Vibration attribute? How envious! Share some of that with the Light attribute! Not that I've cared about looking for it!
"Hey, get to healing Karnel already!" I shouted over my shoulder toward Noire as I kept on blasting the invader with more bullets than that [Sonic Counter] skill could block.
"Relax. If things get bad, I can just use Ressurection if needed. More importantly; kill, bastard, now!" - Noire
Are you a Celestial or a gorilla? ...?
"You can use Ressurection!?!?"
It wasn't only me who shouted, but also Mira, the few monsters who had started to exit the mansion, and even the invader couldn't stop his voice from leaking out. I mean, it's Ressurection! The greatest healing spell that can resurrect even the dead! I tried to learn it myself, but its difficulty level is set on "lunatic-hell" or something! It's practically impossible for me!
"...hmm? Wait, don't let him die! Even if you can resurrect him, dying is not allowed on my watch!" - Garami
"The pitiful and lonely devil-child is right! And thinking how much that living statue has been through before he met all of you-!" - Invader
Hey, even the emerald freak is standing up for Karnel now. What's going on?
"Do you know about Karnel's past-?" - Garami
"Argh, this isn't the time for that! You, shitty angel!" - Invader
"What?" replied Noire in a similar fashion to a mafia grunt.
"Be prepared for your last rites! And the one who will bring judgment on you is me, the one who's known as the Irritation Lord of Damavand! Fare thee well!" - Irritation Lord(?)
And with that...he ran away! Ugh, the mood had completely changed from the battle-hungry one from before so drastically that I completely forgot! We were supposed to stop that guy! Before we knew it, the guy had run out of the Dungeon Territory and used some magic item to...teleport himself and the ox away from here...daaaaaamn...
"Confirmed. The Irritation Lord also owns the skills; [Sonic Dash], [Genocide Drive: Speed], and [Mood Changer (Talk)]." - GM
"Who asked you-!? Wait, what was that last one?" - Garami
"A skill that is close to brainwashing as it makes people stop what they are doing by a simple conversation." - GM
......yikes. Okay, that's truly irritating. He's not only someone that's fast on their feet...
Now, to punish those two girls before grilling them about their pasts. The so-called "Lord" made a big deal outta it, so I wanna confirm it. ...and gently ask Karnel about his story. Even the "Lord" looked like he had some empathy for Karnel. The question is: why?

Kigal-Note/Passive Skills: [Diabolic Laughter]
Description:
[Diabolic Laughter] is one of the most annoying skills that exist in the World System. Locked behind a Quest that only those with the [Sound Technique Master] title can participate in, this skill lowers the HP and MP of anyone who hears the skill user's laugh.
While it may not consume any points directly, the action of "laughing" will lower the skill user's SP over time, but even so, this skill's effect is not going to be life-threatening, so most see it as an annoying addition to the World System at most.
And as if nailing the "annoying"-part of this skill down, the secondary effect of this skill is to inflict the "Irritated" status ailment to the listener, a special mental status ailment that makes it easier to not focus on one's tasks. It is essentially a watered-down "Rage" ailment. The sole downside is that this effect, compared to the first one, can affect even the skill user themselves if they are not careful.
Irritation Lord's comment: BWA-HAHAHAHA! I'll laugh like a butterfly for then strike like a tiger!
