Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Donut is holding his scroll out and is watching the news.

"Today is the day when a fresh crop of new students arrives at Beacon Academy." A female reporter says.  "Let's all hope they become excellent Huntsmen, who can protect the peace of our people. Now for our next story."

Donut turns his scroll off and puts it in his pocket and sighs. "I hope I make many friends."

Donut looks around and spots Simmons near a window reading a book. Donut smiles and walks over to him.

"Hello!" Donut greets and Simmons looks up.

"Hi." Simmons says back.

"Whatcha reading?"

Simmons shows Donut the book cover. It's Beacons Student Manual.

"It's the Student Manual. I've read through this multiple times, even in three different languages." Simmons tells Donut.

"Oooohhh, why?"

"Because, I'm going to be a model student, and let nothing surprise me."

"That's great!"

Over to the Twins.

Asher is looking around while standing next to Ruby. Suddenly Yang hugs them both from behind.

"I get to go to Beacon with my favorite sister and brother. This is the best!" Yang smiles and then gets slightly smug. "You both skipped two years, so I bet they're gonna start calling you two geniuses."

Ruby and Asher remove Yang's hands from their shoulders.

"We don't want to stick out that much." Ruby says to her.

"And we enrolled without knowing anyone here." Asher says with a sigh.

"Why don't you two make some friends?" Yang says to them.

"It isn't that easy for me." Ruby says.

Then the twins looks at Yang with a smile.

"We'll just stay with you all the time!"

Yang becomes surprised, then she looks away. "I'd like that, but..." Yang clears her throat. "Alright! Let's make friends!"

"Eh?" The twins say with surprise. 

Chapter 2
This is Beacon

Yang turns around and looks around. Asher looks side to side and begins to back away without his sister's noticing. 

Asher gets to the other side of the ship and takes a deep breath and hears a loud snore to his side. Asher looks over and sees Grif sleeping.

"What in tarnation?" Asher says with confusion on his face.

Asher walks over and looks down to the sleeping Grif. Then he kicks him lightly in the shin and Grif snorts and wakes up.

"Are we there already?" Grif says while rubbing his eyes.

"Nope, but if you keep sleeping you'll miss the stop."

Grif looks up and sees Asher.

"So, I'll take the next bus to Beacon." Grif says and he closes his eyes again.

Then Simmons walks over with Donut behind him. "Actually, in the manual it says 'If you miss the first stop you don't get another chance.'"

"Who's the nerd?" Grif asks Asher.

Asher shrugs his shoulders.

"Oh, Sorry." Simmons clears his throat. "I'm Dick Simmons. People just call me Simmons."

Grif snickers and Asher kicks his chin.

"Nice to meet you Simmons!" Donut says. "I'm Franklin Delano Donut. People call me Donut."

"You next soldier." Asher says to Grif.

"Soldier?" Grif asks. "Ehhh, fine. I'm Dexter Grif."

The three look to Asher.

"I'm Asher 'Sarge' Rose." Asher introduces himself. "People call me Asher, but you three will call me Sarge."

"Sarge?" The three ask.

"Now for our next story." The three turn to the window and watch the News. "A riot broke out when members of the White Fang forced their way into a recent Faunus rights protest. Suspicious of the White Fang's involvement in a series of Dust robberies, the Schnee Dust Company, industry leader in the Dust trade, is considering fortifying its security division and is increasing precautions." 

"Poor Faunus'." Donut says.

"It must be hard for them." Simmons says.

"It's just not right." Grif adds in.

"They seem to have a big problem with the Schnee's." Asher says.

"I mean, they're not exactly the nicest of people." Donut adds in and the others look to him.

"You've met a Schnee?" They ask.

"Only once, and it was the family head." Donut scratches his cheek. "He made a business deal with my family."

"A Business..." Simmons starts.

"Deal...?" Grif finishes.

Donut nods. "My family owns a couple of ore mines and they needed some process steel for a few things."

Asher tilts his head to the side then gets an idea. "Does that mean you have access to lots of metal?"

Donut nods and Asher becomes excited. "This is perfect!" 

"Uh?" Donut is confused.

"Don't worry about it." Asher says and he looks to the side and sees his sisters with two other girls.

Asher sees Weiss and does a double take. 'Wow... Dude, she's hot.' Asher thinks.

Suddenly a hologram turns on in the middle of the airbus and we see Ozpin and Glynda.

"Welcome to beacon." Glynda says. "I'm Glynda Goodwitch, one of your instructors." Glynda looks to Ozpin. "Professor Ozpin has something to say to you."

"You have all trained to become warriors." Ozpin starts.  "Today, the truth worth of your training will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest test."

"A test?" Asher asks. "I'm not prepared!"

"I knew there'd be a test right away!" Simmons says with proudness.

"Aw, man." Grif says.

"I think we're all gonna do fine." Donut says to them.

The hologram turns to a view of the Emerald Forest.

Ozpin Continues. "Make your way to the old temple and eliminate any Grimm that get in your way. If you don't, your life if forfeit."

Glynda speaks up. "In the forest, partner with the first person you make eye contact with. Two pairs will combine to form a four-person team."

"These will be your teammates for four years of study. Hopefully, you can get along together."

"I hope I get a good partner." Asher says with worry in his voice as he fiddles with his right glove.

Ozpin continues. "The temple contains several relics. Choose one and bring it back to Beacon Cliff. We will monitor you, but will not intervene. You must make it through on your own."

"We will arrive at the test starting point shortly. Please prepare yourselves before then. May you be victorious."

Everyone goes to the bottom of the ship where a bunch of lockers are. Asher opens his up and he looks to two of his weapons. One being his shotgun/sword Dust and the other being a pistol/scythe, Cinders and Ashes.

"Hmmm?" Asher hums as he looks between the two weapons. "Ehhh." He grabs Dust and puts it on his back.

Suddenly a force tackles him in the back.

"Why not Cinders and Ashes?" Ruby asks as she looks into his locker from his back.

Asher closes his locker. "Because, I'm not as skilled with a scythe as you are."

Ruby hops off Asher's back and zooms to the front of him.

"But, scythes are cool."

"So are shotguns."

Ruby pouts.

"Fine, fine. I'll use it soon, just not for initiation."

Ruby just nods. "You better."

The airbus lands and everyone gets off and gathers on front of Ozpin and Glynda.

"We will now begin the initiation." Ozpin informs the students. "Take your positions."

Everyone goes to their spots, Asher's is right next to Ruby's.

"Well then everyone, have a safe landing." Glynda tells the students.

Ruby looks down to the pad. "What? We're going on this?"

Yang jumps up and gets pumped. "Nice! Isn't this fun?"

Asher puts his hood up. "I hope nothing goes wrong."

He looks down the line and watches as a student gets launched and he blinks and starts to sweat. 

"Oh, boy."

Yang gets launched. "Woo-hooo!"

Ruby gets launched. "Yeah!"

Asher gets launched. "Let's do this!"

Asher flies through the air and his cloak flaps behind him. 

Asher looks down to the trees below him then to the ground that's quickly approaching. 

Asher pulls his sword out and points the sword in front of him and pulls the trigger.

Asher slows down a little and he holds his sword out to the side and strikes a tree and the sword becomes stuck. Asher uses his semblance to swing down the tree and lands on the ground.

Asher puts his sword on his back and pulls his hood down. Asher lets a breath out and looks down to see a flaming rose petal close to a bush. 

Asher freaks out a little and stops on the flaming rose petal and puts it out. Asher lifts his foot and the petal is gone and he lets out a deep breath and fiddles with his right glove.

"Close one." Asher mumbles.

Asher ducks as a Ursa slashes at him and Asher swiftly grabs his sword and swings it.

The Ursa's head falls on the ground and the Grimm turns to dust.

Another Ursa runs out of a bush nearby, but a blue spider sticks to its face and explodes. The Grimm turns to dust and Asher turns to his left and makes eye contact with Donut.

"I saved the day!" Donut throws his arms up.

Over with Simmons.

Simmons drops from a tree branch and lands on his feet.

"If my calculations are correct." Simmons thinks for a few seconds. "Someone should have landed just east of me."

Simmons walks through the forest and after a while he hears a scream above him and he looks up to see Grif falling out of a tree. They make eye contact before Grif crashes into Simmons and they both fall to the ground.

"Aw, fuck!" Simmons yells in pain.

Grif stands up. "Thanks for breaking my fall." Simmons gives him the middle finger.

A little later with Simmons and Grif.

Grif is laying on the ground and he groans in pain. He looks to the side and sees a Boarbatusk charging at him.

But a gun shot goes off and the Boarbatusk falls to the ground and slides past Grif and Asher stops the Grimm with his foot.

"What was that pathetic excuse for shooting Simmons?" 

Simmons runs over to him with an SMG in his hands. "Sorry, sir."

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for asking." Grif says with sarcasm in his voice.

"Shut it, Grif." Asher says to him.

Donut holds his hand out to Grif and he grabs it. Donut helps Grif onto his feet.

"Thanks." Grif says to Donut.

"Anytime!"

They hear a bunch of growling and the group looks behind him and sees a pack of about 7 Beowolfs.

"Men..." Asher starts. "Run away!"

They all turn around and run away.

The group make it to a clearing and Asher sees Yang and Ruby and he smiles.

"Yang! Ruby!"

"Asher?" They say as they watch him and his group run towards them with a pack of Beowolf's coming out behind them.

Asher runs over to a pedestal and grabs a white pawn piece. "Good enough."

Asher runs over to the other.

"The test is to bring back a relic, not to defeat those things." Blake says.

Yang turns to her. "Are you gonna just run?"

Grif comes over and he's panting. "I'm totally fine with that!"

"But the Professor said we'd have to kill the Grimm!"

Weiss grabs Ruby's hand. "We have to go now!"

Little later.

Asher, Simmons, Donut and Grif are standing in the middle of the forest with their weapons ready.

"Are we sure this is a good idea?" Grif asks.

"Of course." Asher says. "Why wouldn't it be?"

"I mean, we are facing an entire pack of Beowolfs." Simmons says as he reloads his SMG.

"We just got to kill seven of them." Donut says. 

"Yeah, that's a lot." Grif says.

The pack of Beowolfs run out of the forest and towards the group.

"For our ancestors' ancestors! ATTACK!" The group runs forwards

Asher loads a black shell into his shotgun and he points it behind him and fires. Asher flies forward and a Beowlf jumps at him.

Asher smiles and uses his semblance to get under the Grimm. Asher brings his sword up and cuts the Beowolf in half.

Asher lands on the ground and rolls to the side as a blue grenade flies past him and sticks to another Grimm, blowing it up. Asher switches his sword into gun form.

A Beowolf slashes at Asher and he pumps his shotgun and the shell ejects and flies and hits the Grimm in the eye. Blinding it and he moves to the side and Grif unloads his Assault rife into the beowolf, killing it.

A Beowolf runs at Simmons and he back-flips and kicks the Grimm in the face and it flies back. Grif shoots in mid air and then switches his gun into a sword and slashes the grimm in half.

Donut runs forward and slides under a Grimm and sticks a grenade to its belly. The Grimm looks down to the blue grenade, then to Donut and it growls at him as it explodes.

Asher jumps up as a Beowolf slashes at him and he uses his semblance to circle around the grimm, lighting it on fire and it howls in pain as it dies.

The group turns to the last Beowolf as it looks at them all and whimpers. The group aims their guns at the grimm and open fire.

After initiation.

On stage is Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora.

Ozpin announces their names. "Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos, Lie Ren, and Nora Valkyrie, the four of you retrieve the white rook. From this day forward, you are Team JNPR..."

Nora hugs Ren. "We did it, Ren!"

"Nora..." Ren says.

Ozpin continues. "...Led by Jaune Arc."

Jaune is shocked.

Pyrrha looks at him. "You'' be a wonderful leader."

"Huh... Yeah."

They walk off stage and Asher, Donut, Grif and Simmons walk on stage. Standing from shortest to tallest.

"Asher 'Sarge' Rose, Franklin Delano Donut, Dexter Grif, and Dick Simmons, the four of you retrieved the white pawn. From this day forward, you are team RDDD, (RED).."

Grif looks at Simmons. "I thought he was lying about the Sarge thing."

Ozpin continues. "Led by Asher Rose."

"What?!" Grif yells in shock.

Asher turns to Grif. "Suck it up, Dirt Bag."

"Congratulations, sir!" Simmons speaks up.

Donut throws his arms in the air. "This is gonna be fun!"

They walk off stage and Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang walk on.

"Finally, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao long, the four of you retrieved the white knight. From this day forward, you are Team RWBY, led by Ruby Rose."

Ruby is shocked. "Huh?"

Yang walks over to Ruby and hugs her. "You did it! You're amazing, Ruby!"

Everyone cheers and Asher runs over to Ruby and hugs her also. Asher looks over to Weiss and winks at her.

Weiss huffs and looks away.
