Chapter 15: Mentor (Part 1)

Six days passed after I got chased by the Attenta assassins. I'm now very close to the border gate of Jager Kingdom, I can see it from here while traveling on foot.

On the way I go, I didn't see any merchants, nobles or caravans, it seems very strange to me because of the fantasy fictions I have seen. These people always go in groups to get to the destination of the area.

Maybe this world has many monsters or so, I don't know exactly, on the way traveling with Princess Shera and Reimi to the border of Attenta Kingdom. I didn't meet any people on the road either except the three of us. 

Advisor also told me that maybe traveling in this world is very dangerous, I agree with that because of the path I going on here. 

I have seen some monsters like Goblins, Orcs, even some bandits but I managed to hide under the grass, sneaking around them so I didn't have any encounters, if I had, I would be dead. 

My rifle now has no rounds left, but I still keep it, if somedays I can cast magic to create ammo or I can ask someone to create it by using their magic, that would be still helpful.

I came here in time as my rations run out, goodbye you MREs!

I had hunted for animals for a few days but seemed like my hunting skill was sucked, I cannot hunt any animals even a small rabbit.

I am now very close to the border gate, about 40 meters, then I see some people wearing leather armors like border guards. About 10 of them ran towards two watchtowers above, raising their crossbows at me.

"Who are you, stranger? What kind of clothes you are wearing? Why did you get here by using the border of Attenta Kingdom?" - A man wearing a black armor asked me

That man standing away from me 5 meters, seemed to be like the border gate commander.

The clothes I am wearing now are my military uniform, I wore them because I wanted to cause attention a little bit.

"My name is John Rigen, I came to the border of Jager Kingdom for the escape because I was chased by Attenta assassins!" 

"John Rigen, are you the man that wearing strange clothes and being called powerless by the rumors of Attenta Kingdom?" - That man asked me, he seems shocked

"I think you are that powerless because I have never seen that strange clothes like that, and you also came from the border of Attenta Kingdom so that should be you!"

"Yes!"

"Our Kingdom always welcomes the powerless, they have the equal as same as us so I don't have any problems with that, but about the assassins that chasing you! How about them?"

"I killed them all by using my magic tools!"

"What? How many of them did you kill?"

"About 200, I think!"

That man and his guards aiming their crossbows at me in the watchtowers seemed shocked, that man calmed down in a few seconds and said to me.

"According to our rules, the citizens of our Kingdom must show their citizen cards to get in this border, if they lost their cards, they must pay 20 Atta coins to get in!"

"If there are the people from other Kingdoms, they must pay 40 Atta coins to get in or they must show their Adventurer's Guild cards, or the Assassin cards from the assassins they killed!"

"I have them in my bag now!"

"Then you are free to get in but before you can do that, we must get you into a room to verify your answers, follow me!"

Then I followed that man and his soldiers, I don't want to have any trouble, they led me to a room, that seems like to be used for interrogation, there are 2 guards wielding their swords standing in front of me.

"Then John Rigen! Please hand over your weapons and the green bag you are bringing to us, your belongings will be returned to you after the checking!" - That black armor man ordered me

Then I put my military bag down on the ground, also removing Advisor from my right hand while it still working and hand over my stuff to the guards. The guards seem very curious about my stuff, my bag seems very big but it is not heavy at all.

Before I handle my stuff to them, I managed to bring out a small bag, which contains the cards of the assassins I killed and put it on the table. The black armor man then sat on the chair, checking the cards with a serious face.

Then at the time he pulled out the card of the man named Shild Meister, an assassin that I killed. His guards around him and that man himself were shocked.

"This is the card of Shild Meister, the mentor of an Assassin Clan named Death Dagger! A master Assassin!"

"John Rigen, I have found a totally 146 more cards from the other assassins, you killed these men by all yourself?" - That man talked to me while showing his terrified face, his guards also behave like that, seems like the assassin that I killed was a famous man

"Yeah! I said I killed 200 men, I have left some of the cards behind because they were too far from my reach!"

"You killed the entire clan!" - That man now goes silent, his eyes seem very panic

Then that black armor man takes a calm after a few seconds, he says to his guards.

"Let this man pass!"

Then the guards stay away from the door that leads outside, I freely take back my stuff and go outside, seems like everything is fine for now.

"Sir Rigen! Wait!" 

That man calling me while walking towards me with a large bag, seems like it has a lot of money on it.

"My name is Huten Grenze, I very much appreciate what you did to us, Sir Rigen! Please take the money, it is 500.000 Atta coins, this thing is your reward for killing the assassins of Attenta Kingdom!" - Grenze talked to me while giving me a bow

Then I accept taking the money, it was quite much! I later put it on my bag, then I wear the bag on my back and am about to go.

"Welcome to Jager Kingdom, Sir Rigen! Enjoy your stay in Swei town! - Grenze greets me before I go

Then I raise my right hand to do a handshake towards Grenze, he seems very curious about what I did.

"Oh! You may feel strange at my action but this is the way the people in my homeland greet each other!"

"I very much appreciate what you did, Sir Rigen!" - Grenze also raising his right hand to do the handshake with me

Luckily there is no Corona in this world!

Then I get inside the town named Swei, seems like its town is not wealthy like what I saw from Ailia Town of Attenta Kingdom, anyway I still fine with that.

But the people walking on the road seem very curious about my appearance. They glanced their eyes at my clothes, does this thing so attractive like that?

Then I ran to a shop that looked like a clothes shop nearby and buy some clothes, it took me about 10 minutes to buy, I bought three clothes. They totally cost 1600 Attas, not so much for me when I have a lot of money from the assassins I killed.

Then I go out of the shop while wearing clothes I bought seems like a Black Medieval Tunic with black leather pants, seems like I have lost my attraction a little bit now but the people still look at my military bag, they are still curious.

Then I ignore the people looking at me, going around the street and find out a building looks like an Inn, it seems average built. I get into that place right away to stop the glancings of the people on the street.

"Welcome, customer!" - A woman, no! A brown-haired young girl seems like an employee of the inn greeting me as I go inside the Inn

"You want to rent a room for you, mister? How long would you stay?"

Damn! I don't think anyone who is trained for these jobs will go ask me so curtly like that. I don't have any intention right now so I think I will stay here maybe for a month or maybe longer.

"Yeah! I want to rent a room to stay in this Inn, maybe I will stay here in one month or so!"

"Your voice seems strange, mister! You don't seem like the people here! Nevermind! The cost of renting a room once a day costs 10 Attas!"

"My mother isn't here so I will upgrade the cost to 15 Atta coins, please hand me over 450 Attas for the rent!" - That girl opens a cunning smile while raising her right hand to my face, meaning to ask me to hand over the money

"Anyway, my name is Erissen, mister! Now please hand me the money for the rent!"

This damn brat! Anyway, 450 Atta coins are not a problem, when I was about hand Erissen the money then from behind. An adult woman seems like her mother went out to the stall from behind and made a bonk to Erissen's head with her right hand.

"Mama! That's hurt!" - Erissen holding her head while talking to her mom, I don't know why that brat is now so cute

"If you want to do that, Eris! You should do it when I was away from home!"

"Sorry, you mister! The money for the rental costs only 300 Attas! My daughter had given you a hard time!" - That woman apologized to me

"Don't mind about that, madam! Just take 450 Atta coins as your daughter said!"

Then I put on the stall 450 Atta coins, Erissen's mother keep thanking me while glaring her eyes at her daughter.

"Anyway, if I want to have to have meals, can I also hire you people doing that for me right in the Inn?"

"Of course, you can, mister! But it will cost 30 Atta coins for 3 meals a day! If you don't want to, you can get to the Taverns around here to enjoy the meals!"

Ohh! Taverns! No, I'm quit, my head was just thinking about them, how can I enjoy my meals while around with the alcoholics, the gamblers, and also the drunks?

I better let these two mother and daughter handle my meals!

"I will choose to hire you two for making my meals!"

"Then the money for the meals for a month costs 900 Attas, mister!" - That woman said to me

Then I take out 900 Atta coins and give them to the mother of Erissen.

"Anyway, my name is Milch, mister! Thank you for staying in this inn, we will do our bests to serve you!"

"Here is your room's key, mister! Your room is upstairs, the second floor, room 20!" - Milch said to me while giving me the key

Then I take the key and am about to go upstairs but I notice Erissen's mother, her body is quite attractive! 

At least for a married woman! I don't know why she is so attracted like that.

My mind starts thinking about what I am going to do with that woman. Would it be normal if she left her husband and go "..." with me?

"What's wrong, mister?" - Milch asked me with a seductive voice and a curious on her face when she notices I staring at her body

Or exactly, I was looking at her breasts.

Then I struggled a lot to keep my mind out of those things and ran towards my room.

"Hey, hey mister! Don't just look at my mom! Look at me too!" - Erissen calling me from behind, trying to tease me

This damn brat! What's wrong with these two people? 

Seems like the room is not that bad, its furniture seems good! I place my stuff in the room, lay on the bed and start thinking about Princess Shera.

I don't have any intention of staying here for long but maybe I can't go back to Shera at least for now! 

Maybe I will register in the Adventurer's Guild in this town and do some missions for earning money. I cannot spend my money so constantly like that, it will run out before I can realize it.

Maybe I will go to some libraries in this Town, does this town have any libraries? I wonder. Ir maybe somewhere I can ask people about or find the way to Warsaw Kingdom to find Princess Shera.

I stop thinking and go outside the Inn in a hurry, I think I may have a chance to find out, there may be some maps sticking somewhere, maybe on the guilds boards.

The Adventurer's Guild is the guild that has missions all over the place.

Of course, that's just the knowledge I got from reading too many fantasy fictions!

There may be the maps on the boards about other Kingdoms in their place, I may find the way to Warsaw Kingdom by looking at them.

"Oh, mister! You are going so soon!" - Milch asked me with her seductive voice again

I stop thinking about that sexy woman, I went outside the street, running around to find the Adventurer's Guild.

I brought about 10.000 Atta coins with me, and also brought Advisor and the sword that Princess Shera brought to me the day I met her.

I don't find any guilds, maybe I don't know the road well, maybe I should ask someone for it. 

Then I go into an alley, I was about to get back to the Inn by that route because it is faster. Then a brown long-haired man with a full beard wearing tattered clothes appeared in front of me, only me and him in the alley.

He is holding a wooden sword in his right hand, I look closer at him, that man's hair is not just brown. It has some gray hairs, so this guy is an old man, what is he intends to do here? Rob my stuff?

"Where were you intended to go, young man?" - That old man asked me

"I can't find any Adventurer's Guild here, I want to know the way to get to Warsaw Kingdom! Do you know the way to it?"

"I do know the way! I was a citizen there! But if you want to go there, you have to finish my demand!" - That old man demanded from me

"What kind of demand?"

Then that old man throws the wooden sword at me, it is now lying on the ground, he then looks at me and says.

"You pick up that wooden sword and fight me! You can also use magic to fight, I will only use my bare hands to fight against you!"

"If you can hit my body once with that sword or by your magic, I will lead you the way to Kingdom of Warsaw!" - That old man said to me his demand if I want him to lead me to Warsaw Kingdom

What's wrong with this guy? But that was his demand, I pick up the wooden sword from the ground and was about to fight with that old man. 

I hope he is serious about this, I don't want to hurt an old man!
