Chapter 247: Shadow Calamity XXIV
Under the grayish Mask of Truth, Grimm hazily gasped for air.
The sunlight that once shone on the volcanos was as though it was being crushed by clusters and clusters of shadowy clouds as its coverage area became smaller and smaller as time passed. Eventually, only a small area around the Sacred Lava Mountain consisted of some light. Yet, it was mostly covered up by the Sorcerer World’s void fortress.
Groups of Lava Giants and Demon Hunters from all directions of the fiery world simultaneously retreated to the remaining crimson sunlight’s boundary of this world.
The demon hunters stared in horror at the sight of the expanding sea of blood tentacles under the layers of shadow clouds.
“This…These wiggling blood tentacles are actually a countless number of Camphoragates?” Grimm mumbled in shock.
Myna, on the other hand, yelped, “God d*mn, that’s too much!”
What the Myna was referring to, was the fact that the branches of the Camphoragates were packed with countless Amonros. The combination between the two was like as if they were numerous piles of maggots. The mere sight of it was simply disgusting.
The remaining crimson sunlight of this world had gathered at the space around the Sacred Lava Mountain. With the center of the mountain being covered by the hovering void fortresses in the sky, the mountain was like it had put on a crimson halo.
Creak! Creak! Creak…
Bits and pieces of the Lava Giants’ crushed rocky corpses had fallen onto earth. Under the peak of the spreading Shadow Calamity, the Lava Giants were unable to fend off the Amonro legion within the shadows.
Coincidentally, a part of the Lava Giant fell into the lava lake where Grimm was situated at.
The lava surged due to the impact and socked the rock beneath Grimm’s feet. Grimm had no choice but to reveal himself by retreating from the boundary of the hidden magic array.
Yet, at this very moment, no one paid any attention to Grimm’s tiny figure.
“Oi! D*mn it, what the hell is wrong with this world?! Why is it troublesome?! To think that two opposing rules intertwined with each other…”
Within a crystal ball, the demon hunter who was surrounded by six Jack-o’-Lanterns complained. Suddenly, one of the Jack-o’-Lanterns grew ten meters in size. It opened its mouth and revealed its sharp teeth. Afterward, some sort of attraction force was formed and sucked in a few screaming Amonros within a blink of an eye.
Even so, this demon hunter seemed to have participated in numerous foreign world expeditions, as he appeared to have a lot of demon hunter combat experiences.
“This…this is Vaiduryarion?! It’s so big!”
Even with the raging layers of shadow clouds in the sky, they were unable to completely corrupt the last of the crimson sunlight of this world no matter what happened. However, at this very moment, a few hundred clusters of Vaiduryarion appeared from the depths of the shadow and formed a long ‘snake’.
The burning Vaiduryarion snake was around three to four meters long—one of its ends was located at the depth of the unknown area within the layers of shadow clouds while the other was swinging indecisively.
First, it pointed at the void fortress in the sky. Then it pointed at the Sacred Lava Mountain on the ground. It was as if it was hesitant on which to pick.
Finally, this Vaiduryarion snake aimed at the Sacred Lava Mountain and dashed straight into the volcano’s inner part at tremendous speed. Countless number of Amonros followed the snake and crossed the areas that shone with the light of the crimson sun.
Bang!
The earth shook. This green Vaiduryarion bridge was like a huge scorpion that came from the Shadow World that had its tail stabbed into the inner parts of the Sacred Lava Mountain within the Crimson Sun World, allowing countless numbers of Amonros to swarm in.
At the same time, millions of blood-colored Camphoragates transformed into hands with the small ones a few hundred meters in length and the big ones a few thousand meters. The blood-colored fat flesh wiggled as it moved with numerous Amonros attached to them.
These blood-colored hands left the layers of shadow clouds and crossed the land of the crimson sun. Afterward, it reached to grab the Sorcerer World’s void fortresses from directions.
The wiggling blood-colored hands that radiated with red sunlight shrank as it burned with sizzling sound and black smoke. However, none of them retreated.
Like the demon hands of hell from one’s nightmare, they were determined to drag all the sorcerers in the void fortress to hell.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Resistance from the void fortress was far more intensive compared to the Sacred Lava Mountain. Even with the distance between the two war zones further apart, Grimm could still feel the vigorous energy fluctuations from the surroundings of the Void Fortresses as they continuously slaughtered all nearby hostile life forms.
It was like a blood rain had started on earth, filling this world with the disgusting scent of the meaty plants.
Crack!
Suddenly, a crack appeared on the earth’s base as the inner part of the Sacred Lava Mountain continued to shake. Afterward, a few hundred Amonro bodies splattered from the crack as a result of the vigorous energy fluctuation from the battle within the mountain.
“Hmm?”
Six demon hunters who were anxiously waiting for the Infinite Crimson Sun Seal to activate suddenly lifted their heads in unison. Their pupils shrank in disbelieve as they witnessed millions of Camphoragates formed a giant palm that’s capable of covering the sun.
The palm completely blocked out the crimson sun in the sky, covering up the last of the crimson sunlight areas.
“No!”

Vaguely, one could hear the screams of terror from numerous Lava Giants as if they were colosseum beasts in despair.
At the same time, this enormous palm had blocked the view of the Demon-hunting Sorcerers on the ground to the Sorcerer World’s void fortresses. For some reason, the Principal Will of the Sorcerer World that the demon hunters had been sensing disappeared along with the view.
“No!”
Within the crystal ball, a few demon hunters reacted to the situation more dramatically than the screaming Lava Giants in the sky.
The greed that once mixed within calm eyes of the demon hunters vanished the moment they couldn’t sense the Principal Will of the Sorcerer World. Just like a new-born lamb, their bodies trembled in fear as color drained from their faces.
“What am I supposed to do? I can’t activate a Sorcerer Barrier if I can’t sense the Principal Will!”
“It seems that giving up on the mission is my only choice now…”
Pessimistic emotions started to take root within the hearts of the five senior demon hunters. Even a Dark Sorcerer had taken up the idea of giving up on the mission.
As a rookie demon hunter, Grimm couldn’t help but flinch at his current situation.
‘What the hell is going on here?’
Theoretically, the Principal Will of the Sorcerer World and Sorcerer Barrier were only one of the demon hunter’s enhancement support from the Sorcerer World.
However, from the looks of it, demon hunters had become too dependent on the Principal Will on both capabilities and physiologically.
Which led to the current situation where…
Elite Demon Hunters had their passion to complete the mission extinguished just because they temporarily lost the ability to sense Principal Will.
This raised an alarm within Grimm’s heart.
For Bright Sorcerers, it was quite alright to have these sorts of dependence. However, for Dark Sorcerers who were often challenged to fight independently, this was no doubt a fatal weakness.
Suddenly at this very instant, a low vibration exploded from the core of the Sacred Lava Mountain. The demon hunters who had lost the will to activate the Infinite Crimson Sun Seal couldn’t help but flinch as they stared at their mechanical ball which was situated before them.
The mechanical ball burst out with pale reddish light waves along with a flow of fuzzy sorcerer runes.
“The Infinite Crimson Sun Seal has been activated!”
Boom!
Within the cheers of a few demon hunters, a deafening explosion roared across the sky. Fiery waves raged from all directions, igniting everything it touched. Afterward, a ray of pure gold lava pillar erupted from the mouth of the Sacred Lava Mountain.
At this moment, everyone felt as if it was the end of the world with the sky threatening to fall and the earth splitting as it raged on.
The gold lava pillar was about a hundred meters tall. Its horrifying energy not only distorted space but also extinguished black cracks in the sky. Vaguely, void air flows came out from the black cracks, constantly exhausting the energy of the Material World.
The loud shriek of the sonic explosion caused Grimm temporary loss in hearing.
Therefore, everything was silent for Grimm as the sky and earth’s energy exploded in vibrant colors.
Within their crystal ball, a few demon hunters observed the blast wave of the gold pillar as they calculated the information that was revealed in the mechanical ball before recording them into their crystal ball.
On the other hand, Grimm seemed to have completely forgotten about his mission. He spread out his arms—with a look of enjoyment on his face.
“This feeling… is this the relative boundary between space? The other side of the relative boundary, is none other than the Infinite Void World?” Grimm mumbled.
“Lord Grimm, look at that!”
The Myna shouted as it jumped on Grimm’s shoulder until its vibrant mixture of red and green feathers were ruffled due to excitement. The Myna pointed out a damaged breach on the Sacred Lava Mountain with one of its wings.
After the battle between the three Stigmata Sorcerers and the Lava Giant King, a crack appeared at the deepest layer of the damaged breach. Grimm witnessed a gold lava pillar that appeared out of thin air and erupted toward the sky, yet it didn’t come from the core of the sacred mountain.
‘This!
‘This is…’
Grimm was stunned at the sight. All the joy he felt from the satisfactory of the relative boundary that he sensed with the help of the golden lava’s melting space was completely wiped out and replaced with astonishment with the sight before him.
Beneath the gold lava pillar, was a gigantic Lightning Mirror!
An infinite amount of gold lava splattered out from the Lightning Mirror as if this mirror were connected to another dimension.
Was this the secret behind the Infinite Crimson Sun Seal within the unique rules of this world?
But what was going on with the Lightning Mirror?
