Xia Ling could not be bothered with them. She wrestled fiercely with Pei Jingshan.
She had come from the orphanage and had fought over buns with the bigger kids every day, so her experience was beyond rich. Now, wrestling with such a dainty girl without the strength to even truss a chicken did not require much effort form her at all. Quickly, she had already gained the upper hand and was pressing Pei Jingshan on the ground, hitting her until she could not retaliate.
Pei Jingshan cried, “Help! Help!”
The other girls exchanged glances with one another. They had not expected things to develop in such a way. Who would have thought that this little beggar would be so intrepid when fighting? A low-class was indeed a low-class!
They were a little terrified and backtracked a few steps.
Pei Jingshan cried even harder. Seeing how her sisters were refusing to help her, she shouted without restrain, “If you don’t help me, I’ll tell my father! He will make sure you suffer!” Pei Jingshan’s father held a high position in Imperial Entertainment, and half of the girls here did not have backgrounds that could compare to hers. In the Pei family, origin and strength decided everything. Those girls started to feel afraid involuntarily after hearing what she said.
Pei Jingshan came to her senses now. She stamped her feet and shouted, “What are you all waiting for? Hurry up and pull the little beggar away! You guys outnumber her, how can you be afraid of her?!”
At her heavy shouting, some of the girls stopped hesitating and came up to pull Xia Ling away.
Xia Ling’s body was pulled by them and Pei Jingshan got up in tears. She pounced forward and tore her apart fiercely. “Stupid beggar! How dare you hit me! I’ll kill you! I”ll kill you!” She said while crying and reaching out to slap Xia Ling. Xia Ling’s hands and legs were pinned down by the girls, so she had no other choice but to turn her head to the side forcefully to avoid being hit.
Pei Jingshan’s sharp and pointed nails scratched onto her and left behind a line of red marks on her fair, white neck.
She snorted and spat on her, her saliva splashing onto Pei Jingshan’s face. She scolded. “Despicable!” How impressive was it to rely on so many people to bully her?! Even spitting on her was being polite!
Pei Jingshan covered her face and stared at her in a daze, then bawled loudly. “You spat on me!” Ever since young, when had she ever endured such humiliation? She pointed at her while crying. “You guys beat her to death for me! Tear apart her mouth! Yes, tear apart her mouth!”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Xia Ling glared at them. Her bright eyes were ablaze.
Her expression made the girls hesitate. It was so fierce and frightening.
Standing by the side and observing coldly, Pei Jingyu thought to herself about how these sisters were so useless. She could not help but give a girl standing beside her a meaningful glance.
Pei Jingyu’s followers were numerous, and the girl who adhered to her understood her meaning. She shouted, “Did she not think that she was very pretty? Scratch her face! Serves her right for showing off around us!”
“Yes! Scratch her face!” The girls were excited, how could they have forgotten this? They were all noble and beautiful girls, how could they tolerate this little beggar being better looking than them? Since this little beggar had offended them, then she deserved them scratching her face off!
A group of them came forward to scratch her face together.
Xia Ling recognized the turn of events. She started struggling hard and screaming, “Let go of me!” She looked up inadvertently and her sight swept across the outside of the crowd. She saw Pei Jingyu standing peacefully in her white flowy lace shirt, being escorted by the girls and smiling at her from high ground.

Pei Jingyu—!
She understood immediately, and with her sudden newfound strength, she broke the restraint of several of the girls and was about to charge towards Pei Jingyu. However, it took two to tango. She had not taken a few steps when the girls dragged her back and she was back to being attacked.
Xia Ling furiously fought with the girls in a hurry.
Pei Jingyu smiled and looked on as Xia Ling was beaten a few times. She was extremely pleased. However, she could not smile anymore when gradually, the girl began to take the upper hand suddenly. She hit the group of young girls who had besieged her until they were howling in tears. Even though it was difficult to determine whose success it was at that moment, but the outcome seemed to be decided on already.
Pei Jingyu surveyed her surroundings. The girls crowding around her who had not made a move were either her trusted aide or girls whose fathers held higher positions. They were all noble ladies who were not lackeys and would be unsuited to charge up to join in the fight. She muttered to herself irresolutely and came to a decision. She then gave some instructions to the girl standing beside her.
The girl nodded and walked out of the classroom quickly.
In the siege of the crowd, Xia Ling gradually became red-eyed and had long forgotten what the purpose of fighting with these girls was. All she knew was that if she had been bullied, she would bully them back ten times more! She tore their hair, twisted their elbows, and bit their fingers… Again and again, she hit them until many of them saw blood.
Her own condition was not very good. The gorgeous little dress had been torn violently, exposing her shoulders and arms. Her face was covered in bruises and blood marks left by fingernails.
She grabbed a girl and without knowing who it was, starting hitting hard.
Suddenly, she heard a woman scream, “Stop—! Which family’s little bastard is this to be hitting my daughter?!” She pulled the children apart quickly, grabbing Xia Ling with one hand and then fiercely throwing her out.
Xia Ling only felt a burst of dizziness before her body slammed painfully against the wall with a “Peng” sound. She was in so much pain that it took her a long while to return to her senses. She panted laboriously and coughed a few times before wiping the blood from her face and raising her head, She stared at a well-dressed young lady who was still screaming at her in an angered hurry. “Little bastard, who do you think you are? How dare you hit my daughter?! See if I don’t tear off your skin!”
She said, shouting loudly, “Ah Wang! Hit her to death!”
A tall and strong bodyguard beside her responded by taking big steps forward and was about to hit Xia Ling.
Xia Ling stared helplessly as the bodyguard advanced on her. Her whole body was weak and she was left with no more strength. She was unable to move. I’m dead meat, she thought to herself. What can I do now that I can’t defend myself?
She was still feeling anxious when suddenly, she heard a voice—
“Stop there.”
The bodyguard stopped.
Everyone turned their heads to look at the woman who had spoken. She had a tall figure and was dressed in a starry black professional suit. Her long black hair was tied neatly in a simple high bun.
“Teacher Gao.” The lady who had screamed at her earlier looked at the woman and suppressed her anger. “What do you mean? This wild girl has injured my daughter! Are you defending her?!” She said while using her body to shield her crying daughter like a hen protecting a chick. Her daughter was Pei Jingshan, the one who had been the most provocative.
Pei Jingshan was now looking like a mess. She had her long hair scattered all over her face and her body was injured in a few places. She looked even more fragile than Xia Ling did.
Xia Ling looked at her and sneered.
