Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Kindness

Ren looked calmly at the pipe in his hands.

It was looking similar to the other pipes scattered around the ground. Brand new.

He had used just enough force to deal damage but not shatter it like the previous one.

Gently exhaling he stepped a few steps to the back and stood there for two minutes watching the robber before he finally relaxed and dropped down his arms.

'I thought that maybe he can shock himself back to consciousness or something…' Ren thought to himself.

Even though he laid down his arms, one hand was still holding the pipe just in case.

He was also aware that as long as he held a weapon on him, he would stay in this calm focused warrior state he was in right now. So, he didn't plan to let go of the pipe anytime soon.

He then went to the robber and used his left hand to check his pulse.

'Still alive'

His eyes searched around for a bit before he started walking again.

"That would do to tie him up"

He reached a place where a thick rope was tied around a concrete beam.

He looked at the downed form of the robber before he used one hand and a bit of force to untie it.

Luckily it wasn't hard to do so, and he quickly went near the robber.

He held the pipe under his armpits before he started to tie the robber very tightly with the rope.

Once he was done, he patted his hands to get rid of the dust and once again held the pipe in his right hand.

'This is a rare chance.'

Ren who had never fought such a serious fight in his life was feeling something new.

There was the adrenalin of course, but there was also a bit of excitement and pride at how easily he had manhandled the robber.

He didn't want to let go of that feeling just yet.

As such, he grabbed the pipe with one hand, and a few small rocks with the other.

He then threw the rocks in the sky and let them drop before he tightly held the pipe.

Ping Ping Ping Ping Ping

Five sounds rang out.

Ren had hit each rock easily and shattered them to dust.

'If that was a real sword, then they would have been cut cleanly into two halves'

He found out that his focus in this state was amazingly high.

And he knew for sure that if he had a real sword, those rocks would have been cleanly bisected even though they were quite small.

'This Trait isn't as weak as I thought before…'

Ren who had seen his traits before roughly judged them by rank.

This [Weapon mastery (B)] was only B ranked, and in a world where SSS ranked traits and skills existed, he thought it was kind of meh.

But now he learned that it was not so simple. He also knew that due to his first trait, he could rank up the second trait.

The skills didn't have a mastery level, but his first trait can rank them up, making them stronger.

So, in the future, if he decided to use his trait well he could rank the weapon mastery and make it even stronger.

To be honest, Ren felt like this trait of his was already quite overpowered.

Like he could use multiple weapons at the same time, allowing him a versatile approach to any fight.

He once again tightened his grab on the pipe and wanted to do a couple more moves and test things out, but then a sudden pain made him stop.

"A-Ahaha"

This guy had completely forgot about something.

His left hand let go of the pipe and moved to his stomach where he could feel the warmth of blood.

He was injured earlier, and even though he could bear with it, it didn't stop bleeding and was now getting dangerous for him.

He took off his jacket, and then tore a part of his shirt and put it over the wound before he wore the jacket again.

His hand stayed on the wound holding the piece of cloth.

This way, the blood would slow down, and he could temporarily hide it.

'I'll just walk home,' He decided. Since he couldn't run in this state.

'But first, what shall I do about this guy?'

His eyes moved to the robber sprawled on the floor like he was half dead.

"Shall I leave him here?" He was thinking of what to do as he had his arm on his chin.

That didn't seem like such a good option. He felt like there were too many unknown variables to this choice.

The robber could perhaps wake up and burn the rope using his electricity.

Another person might find his downed form.

But it was not guaranteed that they would be a good person.

'Then, I'll call the police and run away before they come'

He concluded before he grabbed his phone.

But he didn't call them however, he wasn't that stupid.

He opened the map and looked around for a bit before he spotted a street that was nearby.

He would head there, look for a public phone and then report to the police.

Nodding to himself, he started heading towards the stairs of the building he was in.

No way would he be able to jump around now.

He didn't have any trouble walking, but his head was starting to hurt and he knew it would only get worse.

Thankfully this building was empty for the moment as Ren could see, so he easily got out of it, before he walked on the path he had memorized.

20 minutes later, Ren had reached his house after he managed to grab a taxi.

After making the call, he didn't linger around and hurriedly ran away to his house. It wouldn't do to get entangled with the police and stuff.

He didn't know how they operated, and he didn't want to be held up for questioning or something.

This world was new to him. Were the police entangled with shady dealings?

Would they pin the blame on him? and release the guy he had caught? just because anime characters were here, he wasn't just yet ready to drop his guard.

That was why he was hiding his face, and being this cautious right now.

Until he had the necessary strength to protect himself from anything, he would stay vigilant.

Once he got out of the elevator and was about to enter his house, the door opposite him opened up.

"Ren, you're back?" Isaki was there standing looking worried.

Ren nodded.

"Yes, I'm back auntie" He forced a smile.

"Isn't it a bit late for you?" She asked further. Suspicion in her eyes.

Ren's eyes moved around to the side stand, and as he guessed, some food was left there as usual. It was a bit later than he usually entered the house.

He turned the key as he answered her. He didn't want to turn so that he won't scare her, as his clothes were a bit bloody.

"Yes, I was just out having fun with some friends" He replied and smiled at her.

"I'll go take a shower first, auntie, also thank you for the food."

He picked up the food and was about to head inside, but then an arm held his clothes from behind.

"Idiot, you think I won't know that you're injured? What happened did you fight with a friend over some girl?" She didn't bother waiting for him to talk back and then led him inside his house.

And then closed the door after them.

"You smell of blood, plus your face is looking so pale, anyone would doubt you aren't sick or dying looking like that"

The apartments were similar in design so she knew where his bath was.

She made him sit before she opened the medical cabinet on the side.

After grabbing the alcohol and a few sheets, she had him take off his upper clothes and then started to clean the wound.

She started by gently washing the dirt, and blood before she applied the alcohol to the wounded area to clean it.

"Ugh" Ren gritted his teeth from the pain.

Once Isaki finished, she saw how big the wound was and the charred effect of the electricity and spoke up stunned.

"How did this happen? Did you get into a fight with a superhuman? I thought that this was just a regular brawl between friends due to drinking or something, but this wound is too much" She spoke up.

She didn't know that Ren was a C rank superhuman, but from his toned body, she could guess he was quite strong.

That was why a normal knife shouldn't injure him like this.

"Auntie, don't bother yourself with this, I'll deal with this somehow don't worry" Ren didn't want to bother her too much.

She glared at him.

"Don't mention that again. I have a potion at home, it's not a high one but it's enough for a wound like this. I'll go bring it, after that, you can tell me what happened. Don't worry I was a superhero before, if anything is wrong I'll help you out."

Isaki told him gently before she started walking. Not waiting for him to speak.

Ren had a helpless smile on his face.

'You're too good to me…'
