I feel my eyes open for the first time to see a canopy above me. Well the trees have no leaves. Is it winter? I don't feel cold though. In fact the temperature feels just right. Odd.

Firsts thing first though. I look down at my body to find an odd surprise. My skin tone is a dark brown and, by the looks of it very smooth. That's not the most important part, though. Just judging by my slender body I'm pretty sure I lost my forbidden stick.

Fuck.

I wanted to start a family when I was alive. I mean I still can technically, but now I am a bit hesitant. Wait, that shouldn't be my main concern at all right now. Where the fuck am I?

I look around to see no one around. There is nothing but trees. All of them missing thier leaves. There is also a lot of fog that obscures everything within about fifteen meters of me. It reminds me of a horror scene. I can imagine a screaming lady running through this thick fog while getting chased by some monster.

I get up off the ground. Sticks and leaves are stuck on my the back of my bare body. I brush them off in a second though.

I felt like someone was calling me, so where are they? Did they summon me and leave me to my own devices? That would be dumb though. I feel like the energy to give me control over that monster is too precious. Something might have went wrong if that's the case.

Should I find them? I do need to repay them for getting me out of that shit hole. Even if it was for their own survival, or even personal gain, I still want to repay them.

I do need clothes though. I dont want my benefactor or benefactors in an indecent state right? Well there's nothing around so that'll have to wait. I'll need to get to a town or something for that.

I don't have any sense of direction though. I know this is probably not earth anymore. If that's the case, using the usual methods of finding my way using the cardinal directions is a gamble.

This forest doesn't look promising for survival either. The trees look like they have been dead for awhile and the ground has no green grass growing. This forest seems to be dead in every sense of the word. No life, no people, and no sound. If it was nighttime there'd be no light either.

...

...

...

Thinking for awhile I think I'll take my chances by going in the direction, in what I assume is west.

I walk for an hour then two hours...

...

...

...

I spot what I think is some kind of horse. They seem to be standing oddly still though. I get close enough to examine it closer. It was then that it turned to look at me. I real back in horror of the sight though.

Half of the animals face is exposed bone. No. The half of the body is exposed bone and burnt flesh. It reminded me of a certain villain from a series of movies I watched before my parents left.

The creature doesn't seem very pleased by me being in it's presence. It makes a gutteral sound that only vaguely reminds you of what it used to be. It drags it's hoof against the ground, kicking up dead leaves and grass in the process.

If that thing tramples me I'm done for. I decide to hide behind a nearby tree.

But just as i think its going to charge me it stops.

It just stares at me. I stay behind the tree, not wanting to take any chances.

The horse walks toward the tree. I decide not to move from behind the tree.

It continues to approach the tree at a slow pace it also lowers its head as it does. Is it trying to make itself less intimating? Eventually, it does make it to the tree.

It slowly peaks its head from its side of the tree. By this time i had my back toward the tree and the horse.

The horse peers at me with its good side of its face, or at least the part thats least damaged.

Seeing all its wounds, I feel bad for the poor thing. It has plenty of cuts where the skin is not completely ripped off. I feel as if not all of these wounds are old either. They have dried black stains that seemed to be the product of leakage from its wounds. For some reason, I cant smell the creature either. I feel like this thing would have a terrible smell. Wait, I cant smell anything for that matter.

Looking at my hands, they also have black stains from what I assumed was mud from brushing the debris and standing up. But looking at the horse it has similar black stains near its wounds.

I slowly reach my arm to my back and feel it for a bit. I dont feel my hands touching me which is odd.

I pull my hand back. A black substance is all over my hand. Its a similar substance thats comes out of the horse's wounds.

We are similar in that respect. What is this stuff? Are me and this horse zombies?

I put my hand down and look at the horse in its eye. Theres only one way to find out if its not hostile anymore.

I slowly reach my hand out to pet its mane. It doesnt move when I do so. I continue to move closer until my hand is firmly touching the horse's mane. I start petting it softly.

"You're okay buddy. Those wounds of yours must hurt right?" I say, as I shift my petting to the its cheek. I look straight into its eyes for my next question.

"You wont hurt me, right?" I ask the creature. As it's response, it moves it's face closer to me.

I stare into it's eye. The eye is so black you could get lost in it.

Suddenly, my whole body gets hot. I fall to the floor losing a lot of energy.

The horse is being turned into some kind of purple mist. The mist is taking over it's body like from all over. Strangely, it doesn't react.

Once the it is completely taken over, the mist condenses into a purple orb. The orb then rushes into my chest. The force of it knocks me back a few feet. Looking down at the orb, it forces itself into my chest and disappears.

My body has now lost all its energy and I slowly lose consciousness.
