Mu Sijue hid his injury. When he was talking to others as if nothing had happened on the top of the mountain, Lu Boyan and Su Jian’an were at their house in Dingya Villas.
Shen Yuechuan and Xiao Yunyun had a successful wedding. It was the first day of the New Year. Su Jian’an was in a particularly good mood and her steps were much lighter than usual.
When the sun began to set, Su Jian’an handed her two kids to Aunt Liu and prepared dinner with Tang Yulan.
Tang Yulan was in charge of cooking the soup. When she was pouring the ingredients, she asked, “What is Boyan doing?”
Su Jian’an was putting seasoning in the pot as she answered casually, “He went to the study as soon as he came back. I don’t know what he’s doing.”
“He’s in the study again?” Tang Yulan, as a mother, could not help but complain. “Today is the first day of the new year. He should have no work. Why is he still in the study? If I had known that he liked the study so much, I would have asked him to marry to the study two years ago.”
“Haha!”
Su Jian’an could not help but laugh out loud.
However, what the old lady said made sense.
Lu Boyan obviously had no work today, so why did he still stay in the study?
Su Jian’an put the last dish into the porcelain plate, wiped her hands, and said, “I’ll go to the study to have a look!”
She ran to the second floor and pushed open the door of the study without knocking.
Lu Boyan was making a phone call. He seemed to have heard the sound of her opening the door. He subconsciously hid inside the study and turned his face to her.
This was a typical dodge, and he did it naturally.
Su Jian’an swallowed the question she was about to ask while she froze.
She wondered if Lu Boyan was hiding something from her.
Su Jian’an slowly closed the door and walked towards Lu Boyan. There was a hint of confusion in her voice. “Boyan, who are you calling?”
Lu Boyan put down his phone and said, “Someone you don’t know.”
“I…”
Su Jian’an still wanted to ask, but Tang Yulan’s voice came from the first floor.
“Jian’an, the soup is ready. It’s time to eat.”
Lu Boyan walked over and held Su Jian’an’s hand. “Let’s go down for dinner.”
Su Jian’an thought for a moment. She decided to suppress the doubts in her heart first and followed Lu Boyan downstairs.
Tang Yulan specially prepared a lot of dishes for Lu Boyan and Su Jian’an to eat. She did not forget to ask, “How is it?”
The old lady was skilled at cooking, and the dishes she made were comparable to those of a high-star hotel. Su Jian’an felt strange when she suddenly asked this question.
While eating, Su Jian’an pretended to ask casually, “Mom, do you have something to say to us?”
“You saw through it so quickly?” Tang Yulan put down her chopsticks and admitted frankly, “Yes, I do have something to tell you.”
Su Jian’an thought about it and had already guessed what Tang Yulan was going to say to them, but she patiently waited for Tang Yulan to continue.
Tang Yulan cleared her throat. “I said some time ago that I would move back to Orchid Gardens after the New Year. Do you still remember?”
“Yes, we do.” Su Jian’an nodded and then changed the topic. “But, mom, the New Year is not over yet.”
Tang Yulan looked at the time and said, “According to my definition of the New Year, there are less than six hours left before it’s over.”
Su Jian’an didn’t say anything.
She felt helpless.
When she made a deal with the old lady, they should have made a pact on how long the New Year would be.
As expected, the old lady had beaten her.
Lu Boyan could see Su Jian’an’s helplessness. He covered her hand and motioned for her not to speak. He then looked at Tang Yulan and said, “Mom, during this period…”
Tang Yulan raised her hand and interrupted Lu Boyan. “I know that this period is very special, but you did promise me last year! You can’t break your promise to me just because I am old.”
Su Jian’an was speechless.
However, judging from the old lady’s attitude, she would not stay any longer.
Su Jian’an could only give up and say, “Okay, mom.”
After dinner, Lu Boyan went back to his study while Su Jian’an and Tang Yulan went to accompany the two kids.
Since their birth, the kids had grown up a lot. The clothes they wore when they were born could no longer fit them. Their facial features looked more delicate and lovely.
Tang Yulan picked up Xiyu. When she tapped the little fellow’s chubby cheeks with her fingers, she couldn’t help smiling.
Su Jian’an held Xiangyi in her arms.
Xiangyi had always been more naughty than her brother. When she spoke in her mother’s arms, her voice was vague and soft, which sounded like the sound of nature.
Before Su Jian’an got married, she couldn’t quite understand her mother’s love for children.
Until she became the mother of these two little kids, she finally understood that there was really a kind of selfless love in the world, by which one could give anything for their child.
This must be maternal love.
Thinking of this, a gentle smile appeared on Su Jian’an’s lips, and she looked more and more gentle.
Not long after, Xiyu fell asleep in Tang Yulan’s arms.
Tang Yulan put the little fellow on the child’s bed, waited for Xiangyi to fall asleep, and then left the children’s room with Su Jian’an.

On the first day of the New Year, the atmosphere was the most lively, and fireworks were still blooming in the sky.
Tang Yulan looked at the wonderful night and sighed. “I don’t know how Youning is doing.”
Ever since she came back, the old lady had been worried about Xu Youning.
She thought that if it weren’t for Xu Youning, she might never get to come back.
At the mention of Xu Youning, Su Jian’an’s mood couldn’t help but become heavy.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t do anything about what Tang Yulan was worrying over.
Su Jian’an could only comfort the old lady. “Boyan and Sijue are working on it. Youning will definitely come back.”
Tang Yulan nodded. “I hope so.”
After a pause, the old lady suddenly felt that something was wrong. “Why is Boyan gone again? Usually at this time, shouldn’t he be with Xiyu and Xiangyi?”
Su Jian’an suddenly recalled that just now, when she pushed open the door of the study, Lu Boyan dodged instinctively.
Lu Boyan must be hiding something from her.
Su Jian’an felt that she should get to the bottom of it.
However, she thought that it was not necessary to have the old lady know about this kind of thing for the time being.
“Well…” Su Jian’an covered for Lu Boyan calmly. “Boyan seems to have something to do at the last minute. He should be working on it in the study.” After a pause, she added, “I’ll make him a cup of coffee.”
Tang Yulan helplessly waved her hand. “Okay then.”
Su Jian’an quickly made a cup of black coffee, brought it to the second floor, and knocked on the door of the study.
Lu Boyan’s voice rang out immediately. “Come in.”
Su Jian’an pushed the door open and walked in, asking as naturally as possible, “What are you busy with?”
Lu Boyan vaguely guessed that Su Jian’an had been suspicious.
No matter what excuse he made up, it was impossible for him to hide the truth from her.
In that case, it was better to tell her the truth.
Lu Boyan closed the laptop and looked at Su Jian’an. “Come to me.”
Su Jian’an put the coffee on the table and went to Lu Boyan’s side, waiting for him to speak.
Lu Boyan took Su Jian’an’s hand and said slowly after a while, “Something happened to Mu Qi.”
Su Jian’an was stunned and quickly reacted. She almost blurted out subconsciously, “What happened to Sijue?”
Lu Boyan told Su Jian’an about Kang Ruicheng’s every move that day. He tried to make it as easy as possible so as not to describe the matter so thrillingly.
Even so, Su Jian’an was still stunned.
After lunch, she already found it strange that Mu Sijue left the hotel in a hurry. Later, Lu Boyan told her that Mu Sijue just had something to deal with at the last minute.
She had never expected that the thing that Lu Boyan had mentioned was actually a matter of life and death.
Su Jian’an felt as if she had been severely shocked by something. Her mind went blank for a while before she came to her senses. She hurriedly asked, “How is Sijue doing now?”
“He’s dealing with Kang Ruicheng’s men.” Lu Boyan paused for a moment before continuing, “I don’t know the result yet.”
Su Jian’an held Lu Boyan’s hands even tighter, and there was a hint of pleading in her voice. “Boyan, help him!”
Lu Boyan said, “Jian’an, I’ve done what I can do.”
Su Jian’an hadn’t reacted yet. “So?”
Lu Boyan knew that it would scare Su Jian’an, but in this case, he could only tell her the truth. “So, what happens next is all up to Sijue. No one can help him.”
Su Jian’an did not know what to say.
Kang Ruicheng had sent his men to besiege Mu Sijue. Lu Boyan had done everything he could. Whether Mu Sijue could get out of danger depended on himself.
There seemed to be nothing wrong with the logic.
That was why Su Jian’an was even more worried about Mu Sijue.
Lu Boyan held Su Jian’an in his arms and comforted her softly, “I believe in Sijue.”
Su Jian’an nodded. Her soft voice seemed to have been hit by something and became a little erratic. “I also believe in Sijue…”
Lu Boyan let go of Su Jian’an, led her to sit down, and said, “Wait for the news with me.”
Su Jian’an seemed to have lost her soul. She felt empty inside. She sat down and didn’t even know where to place her hands.
Mu Sijue had long known that Kang Ruicheng would focus on dealing with him today.
However, for the sake of Xu Youning’s safety, he didn’t strengthen his defense, which meant that he was caught off guard.
What if Mu Sijue couldn’t deal with Kang Ruicheng’s men? What would Xu Youning do if something bad happened?
Xu Youning was in a dangerous situation. If something happened to Mu Sijue, who could save her?
Lu Boyan saw that Su Jian’an was nervous. He grabbed her hand and held it tightly in his palm. Because he was using too much strength, his knuckles turned slightly white.
Su Jian’an looked at the cold look on Lu Boyan’s face and suddenly realized that the most worried one right then must be him.
Lu Boyan and Mu Sijue had known each other for so many years. When they encountered a dilemma, they would face it together.
But this time, Lu Boyan couldn’t help Mu Sijue even if he wanted to. He could only sit here and wait for the news.
He must be worried about Mu Sijue’s safety more than anyone else.
Thinking of this, Su Jian’an held Lu Boyan’s hand tightly and said, “Sijue is so powerful. Since he doesn’t want you to help him, I believe he has a way to solve the crisis.”
