Spawn of the desert. Hexenbiest with reason. Southern Hexenbiest.

Those were all two names given to a certain hexenbiest hundreds of years ago. That was back when most of the southern desert region was still dark green. It was the name of a person who was simply feared, revered, and bowed down to by the people.

Now, Dohasura had shed his former name and was facing the enemy as a single magical beast.

The enemy was Lugis, a member of the treacherous Oufur. With his evil eye and unpredictable fearlessness, he was much like Oufru. Moreover, he is also called an apostate in the Great Sacred Church, which is not funny.

Is it because of this similarity that Oufru drew him into his fold? Or was he expecting something completely unrelated? I'm sure you'll be able to figure out what's going on.

I'm not going to be able to read the inside of Oufru's skull, anyway. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything like this before. Now that we are far apart, there is no way I can understand a single piece of it.

But the end result of his intentions would surely be to twist Altius' hand. It must be the one that binds her limbs.

Then, despite what you may think, you must bite this enemy who calls himself Lugis. I don't know how Altius feels now, but I still intend to be her ally.

The magic eye roars with a large green light and glares at everything in sight. Then he stared at the enemy in front of him. The enemy took a step forward, leaning on his white sword. His lips twisted in a smile.

"Well, come on. Or shall we go?

How can you laugh after you've been so badly wounded? Lugis, despite his cowardice, still lacks the hesitation that a human being should have. A mind that stays put, a spirit that instinctively knows when not to.

Perhaps, Dohasura thought, she had a more human sense than he did in these areas.

But it was also this danger that sustained his swordsmanship. It was no mere coincidence that he had wounded himself in the neck. He's no longer an ordinary man. A strong man who must move on.

But that doesn't mean I'm defeated.

I've met and defeated men of this caliber many times before. Doha Sura is proud to say that he is not so lowly that he can be easily defeated now.

At least, there is only one person who made me bow down to the ground and obey him in the past.

I heard a similar speech once--well, he's dead now.

The enemy has one goal in mind. Or rather, there is only one. Those who can't use magic or miracles have no choice but to wield their swords honestly.

The only way to defeat the enemy is to move faster than the enemy or to be strong enough to survive the enemy's blow.

The enemy is most likely aiming at the former. He has no way to dam up his own fangs, and judging by the blood he's spitting out, he doesn't have much time to move around.

Then it's simple. Create a path for it, and cut off its head at the exit. Surprisingly, that's exactly what people like him do.

It is a very troublesome thing to do, but it must be done for the sake of the Lord of this generation, in order to pull down Oufru's intentions.

For a while, their words were lost.

Then, several times, the breaths of Dohasura and Rougis came together. They aimed at each other's mental pauses, and then exhaled as if waiting for an opportunity to present itself.

There was a surprisingly quiet moment. Gradually, both of their breaths were lost, and the nature flowing around them dominated the sound. Only the tension in the air proved that they were here.

For a moment, it seemed as if even the sound of their hearts would stop beating. In the distance, there was a dull thumping sound, like something hitting something.

--At the same time, the white color flashed into the demon's extreme light.

Not that either of them knew that was the signal. But no one was late, and both sides were fighting each other's ever-expanding hostility.

The bone fangs crawled out from the floor of the corridor, using their demonic blood as a medium, and roared in an attempt to bite down on their enemies. Each one is so huge that it looks like it could take a human arm to bite down on it, and is nothing but a mass of unmistakable murderous intent.

The swarm of bone fangs that came out of the water, without the slightest disturbance, just ran themselves at Rougis in unison.

While his eyes were distorted by the bone fangs, Rougis closed the gap between himself and Dohasura by sewing through the gap just as his own body was being bitten through. Even so, blood still spilled from the wound. It was as if he was ducking through a web of murderous intent.

It was not sincere, after all. Dohasura muttered quietly in his heart and looked at Lugis in awe.

Normally, humans cower when they feel a strong sense of death. The mind becomes agitated, and the fingers forget the precision of normal times. This is natural, even for people who are used to death.

That's why people try to stay as far away from death as possible. No one should choose to take a risk, and even mercenaries choose to participate in more deadly battles.

But he easily walks right up to the threat, spitting out blood. It's as if he thinks it's okay to die, or believes that he will never die.

It's brave, yes, but...

--I'll kill him right here.

That's the second muttering. But unlike the last one, it was not just hostile.

Dohasura did harbor a strong animosity towards the person of Lugis. This was because he was a member of the detestable Oufru family.

But at the same time, I feel pity for him. Why should he, a mere human being, be involved in the schemes of Altius and Oufru?

It's not a cause and effect he should bear.

I think. If he survives and pushes on, he will eventually cease to be a man.

Then we should kill him as a man while we still can. Admit it. He's a strong man, an enemy with dignity. Then kill him here with respect. I'm sure your master would have done the same.

Dohasura twists his eyes and slowly corrects the trajectory of his fangs. He made a small hole in it that Rougis would have noticed.

It was a small exchange, but we know that he is a man who knows a trap is a trap and still steps out.

So it was easy to guide him. I created the shortest path to him and drove him to it with my fangs. There were times when it showed strange gait due to the continuous spitting out of blood, but I corrected it by moving the bone fangs little by little.

Lugis's foot stepped forward. He was just one step away from being in time. It would be a few seconds before he reached the next ledge.

Then it's over.

--At that moment, Dohasura opens his eyes. In a moment, Doherty opened his eyes. Both of his eyes glittered with green light and opened in the magical realm.

This is nothing more than a demonstration of the power of Dohasura's magical eye.

The majesty that had once broken down everything in sight and created a desert in a single night had long since vanished. But even so, it can at least turn a foothold made of rock back into sand.

Not an inexhaustible supply, of course. But it would be enough to create an opening. Use that small opening to push him to his death.

All you have to do is point your fangs from all sides at the guideposts you've created. That's it. It was supposed to be over.

--If only my eyes hadn't turned from green to black.
