Chapter 10: Chapter 10 : Monster

Tasha first thought this was a joke, but the more Artorias explained, the more this became a serious problem. 

"How do you know this information?" 

"Do you know Steve?" 

'Steve! That snake man.' 

"Yes, what about him?" 

Artorias took out an orb and put it on the table. 

"This is an orb of eyes. I already marked Steve with this. We can see what he is doing right now with this." 

I looked at the orb and saw Steve in his carriage. 

"What happened to Steve? Why should he do something like that now?" 

"He wanted to use me as one of his tools. When I refused, he didn't like it and I expected him to do such a foolish thing." 

"For now, I am gonna watch Steve. After that I will decide if I can trust you or not." 

"As you wish."

Steve left the town and moved to the temple but instead of going inside, he took another route and soon he stopped before a cave. 

"Nobody follows me. After this I am going alone." 

His guard nodded and Steve moved inside. He used his magic as a light. After a few minutes, he stopped before a statue. He knelt on the ground and started to pray. 

"Glory to the Goddess of tricksters, your servant Steve, wishes to see you."

The statue glowed and the goddess of trickster answered. 

"Steve, what is the reason for your visit?" 

"My lord, I find an interesting being inside the town but he refuses to work with me and he is far stronger for me to capture him, that's why I ask my lord to send one of his ancient servants to capture him." 

"Is he that worthy?" 

"Yes, my lord, he is." 

"You know my ancient servants had a huge desire for human flesh and a lot of people going to die." 

" Human life is unworthy, my lord, we need that person instead ." 

"I guess you are right. Fine, I will send my servant and you had better don't fail me. " 

"I won't fail you, my lord."

The light died out and Steve stood up. 

"Fufu, this is gonna be fun." 

Steve moved forward and cut his finger. A drop of blood fell into the lake and then the ground started to shake.

Tasha couldn't believe what she saw. Everything went exactly as Artorias said. 

"We don't have much time, Miss Tasha. Every second that pass more people will die." 

"What do you want?" 

"I want you." 

"What did you say?" 

"I need you, Miss Tasha. I want you to become my servant. Don't worry, you can work here as usual, but you will report to me and obey all my orders." 

"What kind of nonsense is this do you think I will serve you?" 

"Then any blood that is spilled will be on your hands." 

Artorias took the orb and stood up and gave Tasha a red gem. 

"When you change your mind, break this gem and I will come. See you soon, Miss Tasha."

Artorias left the room and Tasha was there looking at the red gem.

"What should I do, guild master?"

"My lord, I didn't expect you to use that clown like that." 

"Anybody who dares to mess with me will fall, Daniel." 

"Why did you choose that girl? My lord, isn't the guild master a better person?" 

" You only see, appearance Daniel, that girl has far better potential than any human I saw and I can control her easily too." 

"What if she doesn't accept your offer?" 

Artorias stopped and looked at Daniel. 

"Then everyone can die."

In a temple outside of town, suddenly a huge earthquake happened. 

"aahhhh what is happening?" 

"LORD FATHER." 

A soldier suddenly came into the temple. 

"Lord Father, we have to run away now." 

"What? How can I leave this place?" 

"A huge monster is coming here, Lord Father, if you don't run away all of us will die." 

"Monster...?"

The priest left the temple and soon he saw a big shadow on the ground. He looked up and frozen in his place. 

"Goddess, what in the world is that?" 

It was a walking mountain who had several tentacles on each of his 6 legs and a bloody head with its huge tongue. 

As the monster moved around, his tentacles gathered several humans and put them in his mouth. 

"Help meeee." 

"Run awayyyyy runnnnn." 

"Protect me, Goddess, protect ahhhhhh." 

"Somebody report to town." 

Suddenly, the priest saw a man with a mask killing the soldier who tried to report back and then he walked to him. 

"Who are you?" 

"Fufu, did you forget about me, Lord Father?" 

"You are Steve. What have you done?" 

"I only give my lord a bit of sacrifice. After all, between humans and gods, human life has no value."

" You monster..." 

The priest tried to punch Steve but he was stopped by Steve. 

"Now that is not what I expected from you, Lord Father." 

Steve  took the priest and threw him at the monster. 

"ahhhh noooo help mre." 

"Fufu, even Lord Father cries in the face of death." 

Slowly, Steve looked at the town of adventure. 

"Let's move Kushim. There are more humans in town." 

The monster howled and they moved to town.
