They were sitting next to a lake with their arms wrapped around their knees that they brought to their chest. They were reflecting on what they did in the past during the Belkan War, what they nearly brought upon this world…
Everyone in the world was lucky that she stopped them from succeeding and putting an end to what they were doing. They shook for a moment before they brought their jumper closer to them. They should've remembered that the low temperature was in the single digits due to the winter cold air.
'I'm not upset about what she did, I… just wish I'd seen my mistakes sooner…' they thought somberly. They nearly flinched from hearing leaves crunching.
There shouldn’t have been anyone else with them since the place was quite far in the middle of nowhere, but there would only be one person who could find them…
"I was wondering where you went…" the voice of the one who shot them out of the sky's voice cut through the air with an icy chill. The two stayed quiet for a while, they were trying to figure out why the ace demon even came out here.
She sighed as she figured she wasn't going to get a reaction from the world's common enemy from the world war. She waited patiently for the other to say something, after all, she wasn’t the one to start conversations.
"What do you want?" They asked so quietly and softly that you would've missed it, and she looked back at them.
"I was worried since you've been out here for 2 hours… And I wanted to talk" she said while rubbing behind her neck and walking over to her rival(lover). She sat down next to them and pulled them to her side, they had flinched but she didn’t want them to be uncomfortable if she said anything about it.
“Look… I already forgive you for what happened, I’m pretty sure the others have mixed feelings but I’ll help you have another chance…” she spoke calmly to make sure they didn’t worry about upsetting her.
“How can I after launching the–” they were about to finish the sentence before she covered their mouth.
“It wasn’t your fault nor was it in your control, you were ordered to launch them by those idiotic politicians,” she said to them before she gently grabbed their chin and turned their head towards her.
Tears were streaming down their face as she gently cupped their cheeks in her hands, she softly and gently kissed them. They made an alarming noise as they shuddered from her touch, she pulled away after they relaxed.
“I’ll always choose to protect you over the country…” she told them gently as she got up to leave with them, both of the aces left hand in hand…
“Also… Akumi, happy birthday…”
“Thank you… for remembering… Mikito…”
