Chapter 1: Disclaimer! PLEASE READ FIRST!!!

DISCLAIMER AND CONTENT WARNINGS!!!

Hi everyone, this is the author of Adam’s flame! Before reading I need to disclose to you that there is a LOT of possibly triggering content in my novel. This novel is an expression of many things I have dealt with and many others I know well. IT IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO ARE LIGHT-HEARTED. I have been working on this novel as a way not only to help myself but also others, in either their own troubles or in understanding the hurt that people go through. That means in the process I have and will write things that I and others feel to an extent of accuracy that might be uncomfortable. These things include: 

1. Thoughts of
   1. Self-worth
   2. Self-deprecation
   3. Eating disorder
   4. Loss
   5. Suicide
   6. Self-harm
   7. Murder  
   8. Torture
   9. Insanity
2. Self-harm (may be depicted at some point, will put trigger warnings and it will not be a part of the reading, it will be separate from the chapters themselves if you choose to see them)
   1. Cuts
   2. Bruises
   3. Burns
   4. Acid burns
   5. Amputation (yes in a self-harm manner, not because they needed it off)
   6. Cauterizing of wounds
   7. Adding extra substances to wounds to inflict more pain (ex. salt, alcohol, ice)
   8. Possibly more as time goes on
3. torture/murder
   1. Dissection (and otherwise more brutally, the ripping out of organs)
   2. Burning
   3. Stabbing
   4. Crushing
   5. Amputation
   6. Slitting throats/wrists
   7. Poison
   8. Radiation
   9. Mental torture:
      1. Physical torture over long periods
      2. giving/taking hope
      3. Gaslighting (extreme extents)
      4. Psychological influence
      5. Drugging
      6. Trauma 
4. Rape
5. Suicide
   1. Noose
   2. Slit throat
   3. Self-harm methods until death
   4. Possibly more
6. Eating disorder (all of the above)
7. Psychopaths and insanity (yes this will be terrible to the point it is triggering)
8. Pedophilia 
9. Thoughts of deserving all of these things

 

Now that I have gone through the EXTENSIVE list, it is important to remember I do not support any of the terrible things in there. These are simply things I have witnessed and/or experienced in my life, and I believe I can help portray them in a helpful way. If you have reactions to any of these kinds of content, PLEASE proceed with extreme care and caution. The first few chapters already include some heavy stuff and it is only going to get worse as the story goes on. Also, I would like to mention, although the story is based on my and others’ experiences, please do NOT make ANY ASSUMPTIONS about ANY real people behind the writing. There are some characters that are loosely based on a real-world person but much of their trauma, experiences and even personality are altered for the story and have so much added on to it.
