Interlude: Akari's Plan Part 1

    "Akari, it's time to eat."

    Satoko Beniya stood in front of her daughter's room tray in hand. On the tray, there are several dishes she had made with great care, all of which are her daughter's favorites .

    "Leave it there, I'll eat it later."

    An inarticulate voice replied from the other side of the door.

    "...Yes, I understand..."

    Satoko did what she was told and left with tears quietly streaming down her face.

    "She...used to be so...bright..."

    This first started when Akari graduated high school. She's now turned into a girl who never shows her face or leaves her room. All she does is either watching the TV or on her smartphone.

    I have tried to get her out of her room countless of times, I once even yelled at her saying, "When are you getting out of your room young lady?!" Out of anger. 

    But in response to that she pulled out a knife. 

　Yes, this is nothing but insanity.

　I had never seen her face like that before. I got scared, and all I could do was apologize and leave the room. After that every time I went in her room she went crazy. She didn't wan to see anyone.

　Its not like this happened out of the blue.

    I had noticed something was wrong at the end of high school, that there was no life in her eyes. However, I didn't pry into it. High school students have a lot of problems, it was the same for me too back in my days. 

　Sometimes parental interference is counterproductive.

　"Mom is gonna head to work now." I called out towards the door.

　Akari, who is supposed to be by the door, didn't respond.

　I went to the front door and left the house. At the same time I heard the door open on the second floor. Akari roams around the house only when no one is home. That's when she eats and takes baths, which is why I got a part-time job.

　Akari smiles as she looks at the message board.

　"Takamine Yukiho is dating Januzu S behind his back, for real."

　"Takamine Yukiho is actually famous for being a b❄tch who loves hot guys."

　"It is known in the industry that she has a lot of abortions."

　Of course it is none other than Akari herself who wrote these. Recently, Akari has been obsessed with slamming Yukiho on anonymous message boards.

　I used to like her so much that I wanted to shake her hands, but now I hate her. Because of her my life has been...ruined. If only that woman hadn't been there...

　The only reason Akari hates Yukiho is because whe is Daikichi's girlfriend. After her insurance policy known as Daikichi left, her life has been in shambles. Boys only sees her as "An easy girl to f❄ck." And the girls sees her only as a "Slut."

　She had aslo failed her college exam because she could only think about Yukiho and Daikichi instead of her studies.

　On the other hand, what about Daikichi and Yukiho?

　They were admitted into the most difficult private university through recommendations, and of coure they didn't have to study for the exam.

　It'll be great if my lies spread and Yukiho's popularity drops. Daikichi might believe it and break up with her. Finally Daikichi will open his eyes and come back to me.

　I got a notification on my phone, someone replied to my posts. It's time for Yukiho's popularity to drop--

　Akari went crazy and slammed her phone on the floor.

    Akari, who had been holed up in her room, showed up at breakfast on a weekday.

    Akari smiled at them. Her eyes were clouded, but her parents didn't care.

    "Is everything okay now?"

    "Honey, don't pry into her affairs."

    "Ah, yes, sorry, never mind."

    Her parents are scared to death of Akari. They wanted to make sure she wouldn't withdraw again. To make sure she wouldn't go insane.

    "I was just stressed out from failing my college entrance exams and fighting with my high school friends. But it's okay now. Sorry."

    Akari made it through with a few appropriate words. When the meal was over, she took over for her mother and took charge of washing the dishes. Looking at the clock, it was only nine o'clock, so she cleaned her room and bath.

    Finally, at ten o'clock, Akari started to move. She wrapped herself in her pretty clothes and got ready to go out. Compared to before, the clothes felt tighter around her stomach. She realized that she had gained weight.

    "I'll be home by evening. Don't worry, I won't kill myself or anything!"

    Akari jokes with her mother, Satoko, at the door.

    Satoko looked worried, but smiled and said, "Yes."

    "Then, I'm off!"

    Akari left her house and headed to Akihabara to buy a GPS transmitter.
