After almost two hours, Liu Qinghe finally wakes up. She felt like her head was smashed by a hammer. It hurts so much, the headache is killing her. 

 

"Um..." she groaned and slowly opened her eyes.

 

"You finally woke up." She heard Huo Yanxiao's cold voice.

 

“What is happening?” She asked.

 

“You overused your ability. It could be dangerous if you overuse your ability, you might die if not cripple. Do you know that?” There was a hint of anger in his voice.

 

“I don’t know. Sorry for making you worry.” She said while massaging her temples.

 

Listening to her casual answer, Huo Yanxiao almost ground his teeth into powder. Looking at her pale face in the rearview mirror, he sighed and half of his anger dissipated. "Nevermind. Just be careful next time."

 

Before she could say anything, a soft voice came from her left, "I heard that you healed my injury. Thank you for saving my life."

 

Turning her head, she saw that the woman had already woken up. Without the swollen face, Liu Qinghe could see that the woman's face was delicate and beautiful.  Her eyes were soft as if it could drip water at any time, but in the black eyes, there was coldness and ruthlessness hidden underneath.

 

"It's a small matter. How do you feel?" Liu Qinghe said.

 

"It's not a trivial matter, Qinghe. You might die." Chen Jizheng muttered in a low voice.

 

That woman smiled when she heard what he said. She looked at her and said, "My name is Nie Anqi. I'm much better now, thank you."

 

"My name is Liu Qinghe. Ah, yes. We're going on a mission, so we can't bring you back to the base for now."

 

“I’m a water ability-user. If possible, I want to follow you until you return to the base." Nie Anqi said softly. But they could hear her confidence in her words.

 

They looked at each other and finally looked at Huo Yanxiao. He is the leader of the team, so they will follow his decisions. Huo Yanxiao's eyelashes dropped and no one could see the turmoil inside. After a long silence, he finally said, "Okay. But if you drag my team down, we'll leave you behind."

 

"Don't worry, I won't drag you down." She said to him with a smile.

 

Liu Qinghe looked at them and felt that something was happening between them. But what was it, she couldn't tell. In the end, she just scratched her head and threw this matter to the back of her mind.

 

After driving for a few hours, they finally arrived at the area near the J hotel.  Looking at the ruins and damaged roads, Huo Yanxiao said, "We can't use the car. Let's get down and walk."

 

They got out of the car and Liu Qinghe kept the car in her space. Looking at her, Nie Anqi's eyes flashed. Walking behind them, the corners of her lips curled up.

 

‘So, this girl is a dual ability-user. I wonder what the abilities of her other teammates are.’

 

Not noticing that Nie Anqi was observing her, Liu Qinghe stayed close to Huo Yanxiao. She had seen him fight before and she knew how good he was. What's more, he is stronger now than before, so staying by his side is the safest.

 

When they reached an abandoned house, Huo Yanxiao raised his hand to signal them to stop. "There are a few zombies ahead. Try to avoid it. There is no need for unnecessary battle.” He said in a low voice.

They nodded and took a detour, slowly moved towards the location of the hotel. As they moved cautiously, it took them more time to reach the hotel. Hiding behind the wall, Liu Qinghe saw zombies wandering near the entrance of the hotel. She said, "What about now? If we don't kill those zombies, we won't be able to get in."

 

“Those zombies are level one. Killing them in a short period of time is not a problem for us. Qinghe, you and Miss Nie stay in the middle. I will open the way. Jiyu and Jizheng cover from behind." Huo Yanxiao said.

 

"Okay." They answered in unison.

 

After reaching the agreement, they rushed from behind the wall. Huo Yanxiao held his military knife and cut off several zombies’ heads with a smooth movement.

 

Slash! Slash! Splash!

 

“Roarrr!!!”

 

After his ability reached the third level, Huo Yanxiao's movement speed and power greatly increased. Killing those level one zombies is like walking in the park for him.

 

With his great killing power, there is not much Chen Jiyu and Chen Jizheng need to do. While the three of them were busy killing, Liu Qinghe went to pick the zombie nucleus in the midst of the zombie's roar. 

 

There is not much level one zombie that has a nucleus, but it’s not less too. From the zombies at the entrance of the hotel, she collected nearly twenty zombie cores.

 

Nie Anqi looked at what she was doing but she didn’t join her, she only followed behind them closely. Right now, she needs their help to get to the base. It’s not a wise decision to fall out with them over something like this. She could get those stones later if she wants.

 

It took them half an hour to clean up the hotel entrance. Going to the lobby, there are not many zombies wandering in it. This way they can move while cleaning up zombies. After confirming that there were no zombies in the lobby, Liu Qinghe walked to the wall next to the counter and checked the hotel map.

 

"There are restaurants and halls on the first and second floors. We should go there and check first." She said while tracing the map.

 

"We will set off after a short rest." Huo Yanxiao said.

 

They sat behind the counter and Liu Qinghe took out several bottles of mineral water and beef jerky. She gave everyone a bottle of water and a few pieces of beef jerky, then walked towards Huo Yanxiao.

 

“Here.” She sat down beside him while giving him her lake’s water and some beef jerky.

 

Her lake waters have healing properties and could restore energy. After much deliberation, she decided to only give the lake water to people she could trust. She only saw Nie Anqi today, and she felt something strange about her.

 

Taking the water and beef jerky from her, Huo Yanxiao said, “Thanks.”

 

"What are you thinking? Your frown can kill a fly now." She joked.

 

He only hummed a response but his dark eyes looking at Nie AnQi were deep and something flashed in it. Liu Qinghe stopped talking when she saw that he looked at Nie Anqi without blinking. She chewed the beef jerky while observing them with interest.

 

After a twenty minute rest, they walked to the first floor. The hotel still has electricity, it looks like the emergency generator is still working. So they take the elevator, which saves time.
