Prologue: Me and the Sunflower Goddess

In my high school, there is a woman who is usually called the “Sunflower Goddess”.

…of course, the calling “goddess” is just a metaphor, not a real thing.

“By the way, Hinata, that lotion you gave me the other day was great! I was about to cry because all the lotion I’ve been using lately doesn’t match my skin, but it really helped me out!”

The female members of the student council, were chatting and laughing.

Now is the time for the student council activities to end, but a few students left behind to chat. Well, I’m just doing my job quietly as a secretary.

The student who was talking to the girl, Asahina Hinata replied with a smile.

“I’m glad to hear that. You’ve been having trouble with your skincare routine. I’m glad I was of some help to you.”

“It’s true, Hinata is the one who saved my skin. The goddess is very dependable!”

“Oh, my God! Stop that, I’m not a goddess.”

The sunflower goddess–. That’s the most famous nickname for Hinata in this high school.

Her grades are always at the top of her class, she’s really pretty, she’s popular with the students and the teachers know her as the student council president, she’s even rumored to be good at housework.

That’s Hinata, a girl who is loved by everyone.

Well, it looks like the secretary’s work is almost done. That’s when I took a break.

“Hinata, do you have any plans after this? There’s a café near here that’s having a seasonal cake, do you want to go with me?”

“Oh…, I’m not sure I can make it today. I’m sorry you asked me out.”

While talking with her friend, Hinata tapped her phone. My phone vibrated in my pocket.

–I’d like to do some shopping for tonight’s dinner, would you mind tagging along?

–Okay. I’ll be waiting at the school gate.

I replied to her, finished my work, and left the student council room.

To be honest, I still feel weird that Hinata is my older sister.

“Yuto, is there any dish you want to eat today?”

“Oh, that mushroom gratin you made the other day was delicious. I want to have it again.”

“Oh, you liked it. Then I’ll make one for you, Yuto.”

Under a sky turning dusk, I headed home, walking side-by-side with Hinata.

Its really strange, really.

I never thought that the day would come when I would live with my first love who is a classmate of mine, as a family.

“What’s wrong, Yuto? You seem to be in a daze.”

“Oh, no. I’m just not used to shopping for dinner when the sun is still up.”

“Haha, you’re probably right. I’m surprised too. We just became a family.”

This is the girl I’ve had a crush on for so long.

Hinata was my classmate, the student council president, and the Sunflower Goddess. She was just too dazzling for a talentless guy like me to fall in love with.

But that day a month ago. My life and Hinata’s life changed.

We went from being just classmates to a family.
