POV (Author)

Rinne explained in detail everything that happened before he met Orion. He didn't leave any information. Mira and Orion sat on the bed listening religiously, frowning at times, nodding at others. When he finished recounting the events of the past year, a flurry of questions came to the minds of the two bloodhounds. But one, in particular, carried more weight than the others. Mira, confused, allowed herself to ask the question.

"Why did you share this information with us? For Orion, I can understand. But we have only known each other for a few hours. If this information falls into the wrong ear, your lives will inevitably be in danger. The sacred temple can even declare you enemies of the Almoran."

Orion nodded and added,

"I suspected you were hiding something but I have never heard of a case like yours. Being able to use the myndo without a seal...It's almost like you are monsters."

These words only made more sense coming out of the mouth of a bloodhound. Rinne quietly finished his coffee before speaking. Most adults would be offended by such an attitude. But Orion and Mira were almost captivated by what the children were giving off, at that very moment. Something strong and striking, a maturity that contrasted with their physical appearances.

"Sooner or later, the temple of Ruviel, or rather the five temples of Alcine, will point to us as enemies of the Almoran." Rinne began to say in a calm voice.

Lyanna sat on a chair sipping her coffee, eyes closed, leaving her brother the duty to share their feelings.

"What do you mean, Rinne ?" reacted Orion who was staring at him.

Now that he knew everything, the mission Gerald had given him became much more complex.

"If this world can't accept people like us, then it doesn't deserve to exist."

"......"

This answer didn't particularly make Orion and Mira react. It was something they had heard over and over again in the slums, in the bars, and in many other places. Cursing this world and even the Almoran was commonplace, especially for the heretics.

"Mhmm, those are big words Rinne but meaningless. I agree that this world is rotten. We've experienced it first hand," Mira began to say. For a moment, she seemed to recall some difficult memories.  "But things can't change. Saving the heretics..."

"You're misunderstanding something, Mira."

"hum ?"

"My goal isn't to save the heretics."

Rinne turned to the window. He watched the people pass by and go about their daily lives. The street was divided into two sidewalks. On one sidewalk, well-dressed people walked, bags and baskets filled with food and goods of all kinds. On the other side were shabbily dressed people and beggars sitting on the ground asking for help. His cold gaze no longer felt disgusted or hatred towards this scene. A simple thought crossed his mind and he said it out loud.

"If we couldn't use spiritual energy, Lyanna and I might have ended in Thoralf's dungeon, Am I wrong ? "

"..."

Orion and Mira couldn't deny his words even if they wanted to. Rinne's body was surrounded by a black aura familiar to the bloodhounds. An intense pressure fell in the room making the floor crack under Rinne's feet and the glass of the window shatter. The cool morning air entered the room, lifting Rinne's shirt. The wind caressed the skin of his bare chest was exposed to the sun.

"You asked me if I was afraid to die. I told you I was. Because Lyanna would be alone. That answer doesn't satisfy me anymore so I'll give you another one if you don't mind. I am not afraid to die. I want to die. Yes I want to die without worrying about Lyanna. And she shares that same feeling. This is my goal."

Rinne turned to look her straight in the eye. His myndo didn't falter.  Once again, Orion and Mira were impressed by the strength of a child in the early stages of myndo. Mira for her young age was considered a genius among her peers for being a third-class adept at just 15 years old. But she couldn't help but think that the two kids in front of her were far more impressive than she was.

"I need one thing from you, Mira."

"What? "

"Five years of your life. I want you to teach us everything you know for five years."

Mira's eyes crinkled at this request. She thought Rinne's words were simply a delusion due to his traumatic experiences. A child talking about being ready to die sounded insane to her, but his cold gaze and that dark energy made her doubt.  Chills ran down her spine.
"What are you doing Mira, don't tell me you're intimidated by this kid?" Her hand instinctively went to her bandaged arm. His wound had already healed, but strangely, the scars were still painful. "This kid is not normal. That energy so threatening...so.... interesting"

Unable to suppress the smile on her face, she stood up and walked towards Rinne. Her gray hair danced in the air with each step as her myndo was activated. A white glow enveloped her and confronted Rinne. When she arrived in front of him, she stretched her hand forward. Without hesitation, the young boy shook it. The skin of Mira's right hand was immediately attacked by the black energy and was torn off. As for Rinne's hand, it had a dozen deep cuts. However, he did not flinch and showed no signs of fear or distress. He had a calm, detached expression that excited Mira even more.

"If it's just training you, I can do it. With my teachings, you will progress twice as fast. But it won't be free you know?"

Her tone was playful but her eyes were serious.

"Fifty percent of the pay for all the missions Lyanna and I will do and a reward when I will take back our lands.  Of course, I won't give you anything that will harm us ."

"Wow you know how to be generous,...Alright, a deal is made, however, I slip in a small condition."

 "What is it?"

"A wish"

"A wish ?"

"Yes, you will have to fulfill one of my wishes in the future. I don't know which one it will be yet, but when the time comes, I will tell you."

The condition seemed risky to Rinne. But he gave his approval. A pact of flesh and blood was thus formed. Orion observed the whole scene in silence from the corner of his eye. His expression was unchanged. Unlike Mira, he knew that Rinne meant exactly what he said. Part of his reason whispered: 'He won't make it anyway'. But an even louder part screamed at him that these two kids were going to make an unimaginable mess.
