Chapter 3: Ch3 – Trapped in a bird cage

Goku, Vegeta, Holo, Lawrence, Eren and Mikasa went out of the paved pathway and onto the grassy plains. They traveled until they reached the wall of the giant glass dome that they were in. the area overall was shaped like a giant birdcage. 

Vegeta punched the wall fiercely. But soon his face started becoming sour and he shook his pained knuckle. 

“What is this? I’ve turned into a weakling” grumbled Vegeta. 

“Yeah, it’s a shame I lost the ability to fly too” said Goku and sighed sad. 

“Flying? Punching down walls? You guys are joking, right?” asked Lawrence with a smile.   

“Hmph, I suppose you earthlings wouldn’t know the true capabilities of a saiyan warrior” said Vegeta proudly.   

“This is truly infuriating. What kind of a monster has such abilities” said Holo in an irritated tone. 

Eren looked at the top of the enormous cage with tired eyes. 

“So, once again, I’m locked behind a miserably cage. Only to peer at the sky that I couldn’t reach” said Eren, his last sentence carrying anger. 

“Eren, we’ll figure something out to escape. Just don’t do anything to hurt others, I beg of you” said Mikasa, worried  

“Hmph, as much as I want to pride myself and declare my strength. Figuring out the truth of a murder is not something I practitioned. But I’m not gonna die simply because certain someone was impatient and gone for a kill” said Vegeta with menacing eyes towards Eren. 

But Eren ignored him and continued to look at the sky.              

“Come on, don’t lose hope. Let’s keep checking the walls while we walk. Maybe there is a hidden gap our captors failed to realize” said Lawrence. 

Saying that they all went ahead, aiming to circle the giant dome at least once.

Naoya, Minase, Saki went out together to the school. On their way they met Light Yagami and Lelouch. They entered the school and quickly went up the stairs to the fourth floor. 

“Umm, mister umm” mumbled Naoya.    

“Call me Light.”

“Why do you have bruises on your face?” asked Naoya, concerned. 

“Oh, I just had a little scuffle with an affiliate over a misunderstanding. No big deal” said Light casually. 

They checked the hallway to enter the computer room. 

“Interesting. Maybe whatever is on this could help us escape” said Lelouch as he quickly sat on the chair and started typing on the computer.

“Good, you do that. Let’s check the other rooms.” said Light. 

They went into the other hallway. Light tried to open the door to the art lab but it was locked. 

“Hmm, where is the key?” pondered Saki. 

Naoya started searching on the ground for keys near the door but to no success.  

Light checked his pockets and drew out a hairpin from it. 

“I found these from my own dorm room when I woke up here.” said Light as he broke the pin in half and used the thin side of the pins to lockpick. 

They waited there for a while but eventually Light managed to make the door open. They all entered the artist lab which felt rather empty than they expected. The wall and ceilings were white, and there were dozens of square rocks probably intended for sculpting purproses as well as painting tools. 

There was also a blue tub and a sink in the room. 

“Hmm, I was hoping to find something more useful” said Light as he strolled around the room. 

“Come on, let’s go check on Lelouch” said Light and they went to the computer room. 

They entered the room to find Lelouch still sitting in front of the computer. He looked at them with the corner of his eyes and commented. 

“This room truly is fascinating. With the headsets placed in this room, you can enter a virtual reality with your mind. The virtual world isn’t that big but it’s pretty impressive regardless.” said Lelouch elegantly.

“V-Virtual world? Really?” gasped Naoya in disbelief. 

“Yeah, I only saw that type of technology in movies” said Saki. 

They went out of the computer room to enter the middle dark room. 

“S-scary” said Minase as she peered into the middle room from outside. 

“There is nothing here. What is this room for?” pondered Light. 

“Some sort of a ritual maybe. There are candles. And there is no light” said Lelouch. 

“Probably” said Light and left. 

They all then entered the anthropologist lab. Fancy armors, medieval and traditional Japanese swords and equipment were placed there. 

“Wow” gasped Saki. 

“It’s such an interesting place. Ahh, I wish we had our cellphones, it would be cool if we took some pictures here” said Naoya.           

“Yeah, it’s horrible that someone would use this place for such an awful thing” said Minase with tears in her eyes. 

Naoya looked gently towards Minase and wrapped his arm around her body.

Meanwhile  L, Miu, Edward and Ruby  arrived at the first floor gym. 

“Wow, it’s a fantastic place to hang out and play basketball. But…ahh, I wanna go home” said Ruby while jumping around the giant hall. 

“What is that? That robot on the stage?” said L. 

At the end of the hallway was a stage and on top of it, indeed was a robot standing motionless. The robot had a white hair, pale face and green grayish metal body.  Miu was familiar with it. 

“Yoo, Keebo. Didn’t know you were here” said Miu happily but the robot didn’t respond. 

“Hey, you stupid hunk of junk, are you ignoring me?” asked Miu. 

Still nothing. Miu ran up to the stage followed by the others.

Miu hopped onto the stage and indeed, the robot didn’t seem to do anything in response. 

“Tch, I think this shit is broken.” said Miu with a scoff. 

All of them gathered around the robot. But Ruby saw something else away from them on the stage near the curtains. She walked up to it to find a remote lying there. She picked it up and examined it. 

The nintendo switch like shaped device said “K0B0 remote” on top of it. There was a screen  at the center and dozens of control sticks and buttons next to the screen and behind it where a hand would be placed to hold it. 

Ruby pressed on some of those and the robot behind her started moving and a bunch of people gasped and yelled. 

“Ahh, it came to life!” yelled Miu while ducking to the ground.   

“No, it seems Ruby has found the remote” corrected L lazily.    

“Hey, what is the big idea? You almost scared us to death!” grunted Edward. 

“Oh, sorry. Haha, I really shouldn’t start messing with stuff I randomly find huh” said Ruby with a weak smile. 

Ruby continued to press on the robot to move it. It worked well and the robot was following every command.

“Oh, give me that. You’re such a slow learner” yelled Miu and grabbed the remote from her and started messing with it.    

And indeed, Miu was better than Ruby at controlling the robot.  The others spectated and within 20 or so minutes Miu was making the K0B0 robot run around the stage jumping and flipping. 

“Interesting. You could use this robot for all sorts of errands and investigations.” said L. 

Ruby and Edward took their time to notice that Miu’s command noted was the fact that complex movements such as walking up and down stairs need to be made on the super manual mode of the robot, in which it requires both hands to control the leg movements.
