The view flows as if it were flying past the window of the carriage.

The carriage was fast when the coachmen whipped the horse just before arriving at Galuentor, but the current speed is more than twice as fast.

"As one would expect from a white carriage ......."

Morgen said that and then kept looking outside without getting tired of it.

The royal road where the white carriage with Almark and the Morgen are riding like they were flying.

The road from Lerbuda to Galentol is wide enough to allow two shared-ride carriages to easily pass each other, but this royal road is more than twice as wide.

There is a lane dedicated to white carriages, which are twice the size of an ordinary ride-on carriage, and other travelers on horseback, cavalry, and on foot are passing by.

"You could look out there forever and never get tired of it,"

 Morgen said.

"Yes, it certainly does," said Armark, looking out the window.

“We're going to spend the night in a town called Beulah, We're going to stay in inn and clean ourselves up, i want to look clean when we meet Wendy "

“I guess so. It kind of smells bad to after a day in the field."

 Morgen nodded.

Their hearts were already set on meeting Wendy in Miletus.

 The city of Miletus.

It is the southern center of the vast Berherb territory that stretches to the north of the Kingdom of Garai.

Although the city is not as large as Nevia, the political center of Barhab's territory, or Renovais, the economic center of the territory, it is said to be one of the most graceful in Garai, with its nicely divided streets and the Barhab family mansion, commonly called the "Winter House," built on a small hill.

Wendy was in the "Winter House," which is used as the winter house of the Barhaber family.

Wendy was alone in her spacious room.

She closed the book she was reading and sighed.

It had been nine days since she had arrived at the Miletus residence. Wendy was rarely allowed to go out even to the inner courtyard due to Ward's orders.

It was her vacation, but she couldn't spend it running around in the summer sun.

The strong sunlight streaming in through the windows only served to make Wendy more aware of the fact that she was like a caged bird.

If she could have spent her vacation in Galuentre, there were many places she would have liked to visit and people she would have liked to meet. There were things to buy, and there was always something happening

But since her father sent her to Miletus, she has had nothing to do but read and study.

Her days were spent reading and studying, riding her horse in the nearby meadows, and picnicking on a hill with a view of the lake. She thought of doing something like that since she had come all the way to Miletus, but Ward changed his expression and opposed the idea.

“Your life is in danger, young lady. You must not leave the house.’

Wendy knew that Ward was seriously worried about her, so she could not say anything against him.

And what disappointed Wendy most of all was that she could no longer invite Almark and Morgen to the Garnentr mansion.

Unusually for Wendy, she had rebelled against her father's request and asked him to let her stay at least a little bit longer in Galuentor, but Wendy knew that her father would not change his mind if he decided something .

Wendy knew that her mother, who was usually so composed, had lost her weight at first sight, probably due to the daily stresses of the situation.

She told Wendy that it was like a bright light to have her home again, but even her mother told her to go to Miletus.

She could rebel against her father, who was still in high spirits, but she couldn't go against mother's words, who was tired .

Eventually, she was only able to spend one day with her parents. On that day, both of them were kind to her as if she were a little girl again.

The next day, Wendy asked her brother Richard, who was two years older than her, to take care of her parents, and got on the white carriage to Miletus.

She wanted to cry, but resisted. She did not want to worry her parents

She wondered if Armark and Morgen had received the letter she had sent to them as soon as she arrived in Miletus.

 (Morgen must be disappointed.)

(Before the exam, he seemed so sad when he found out he wouldn't be able to go home for vacation. I suggested on spot to spend it at my place, and he was very happy.)

A pure and innocent joy, without any calculation.

Having grown up as an aristocratic daughter, that reaction was new to Wendy and made her happy.

That is why she wanted Morgen to visit Galuentre. She wanted him to be happy . She was looking forward to that.

(I don't know if he will forgive me, but I will write him another letter of apology when I settle down.)

With that in mind, Wendy had yet to write a single line of her second letter.

 (Almark .......)

Wendy's heart ached as though it were tightening at the thought of that name.

(I wonder how Almark feels about not being able to visit my place .)

From the beginning he wasn't that keen on the idea. Wendy knew that he had originally planned to spend his vacation in meditation .

Knowingly, Wendy was on board with Morgen, pretending not to notice Almark's feelings and invited him too.

She wanted him to visit her home.

She wanted her family to meet Almark.

Most of all, Wendy didn't want to not see Almark for two months.

Almark looked troubled when she asked him to vist .

But Wendy was sure that he would come, and she made a sad face.

Almark smiled kindly and said he would go. That made her very happy.

(Maybe I was being punished for making him feel uncomfortable like that")

(Maybe that was why she had to spend her vacation alone.)

Wendy's heart felt squashed when she thought of that.

She wondered if Almark had looked a little disappointed when he read the letter.

(He might have smiled a little and patted Morgen on the shoulder, like he always did, and that would have been the end of it.)

(He might not be thinking about me at all anymore, and he might be practicing meditation every day as planned .)

(If this was what happened , I should never have asked them to join us in the first place.)

That's the regret Wendy has been carrying ever since she came to Miletus.

(It's still okay for me to be the only one having a boring vacation. I just have to endure it .)

(But I feel really bad for Morgen for getting his hopes up.)

(And if Almark had read the letter and remained unaffected, it would have been the same as if he had been told that I was just a friend to him .)

In fact, even if that was how he felt now, she still didn't want it to be that black and white.

With a sigh for what seemed like the thousandth time, Wendy noticed two small figures walking slowly across the courtyard outside her window, but at first she had no idea what they were doing.

 Two familiar figures.

Where had she seen them before? They somehow look like Almark and Morgen.

They were slowly approaching the house where she was.

They were walking together, talking and smiling about something.

She couldn't believe that it was real, because it couldn't be.

(They are on the island of Nork, far away from Miletus, a four-day journey by white carriage with a shared carriage.)

(There was no way they could come all the way here.)

"Lady Wendy!"

Ward's voice comes from downstairs. She hadn't heard Ward's voice that happy in days.

«Here your friends, Mister Almark and Mister Morgen! «

 (It's can't be .)

(It had to be a lie.)

She tried to think that way , but as soon as she heard those words, tears began to fall from her eyes, tears that were supposed to be flow a long time ago.
