Chapter 26: OK, I’ll Work For Him!!

Eden followed Alexander to return to the ballroom. Her eyes continued to stare disapprovingly at Selena who continued to cling hers to Alexander's burly arms.

[ And let go your hand from his.] Eden could only grumble in her heart, not daring to told Selena directly. Didn't Eden who was clearly reject Alexander just now?

"I haven't seen you this angry in a long time, Alex. Last time I saw you were so angry until you lost your mind was when Uncle Miguel…"

"Stop, Selena!! I don't want to hear that name!!" Alexander glared at his childhood friend. Selena's guts immediately shrunk, she forgot how much Alexander hated Miguel Grey.

"Sorry, Alex." Selena looked down.

"Well, I want to go home. My shirt was splashed that bastard's blood." Alexander left the Ballroom area.

"Take care of Eden, Kai!" Alexander asked his best warrior to take care of his Luna.

"Yes, My Lord."

Unbeknownst to them, Eden had overheard the conversation earlier. "Miguel?? Why did they bring up that name?? Do they have anything to do with My Dad??"

Eden guessed haphazardly the story that was only heard briefly. However, for some reason Eden felt sure that the Miguel they were referring to was his father's name, Miguel Grey.

"Maybe it's just my feelings. How could my dad possibly know about werewolf things." Eden whispered.

Eden rubbed the back of her neck to get rid of her worries and went back to work. Although still so shocked by the terrible incident that almost happened to her, she still had to work because she needs money to pay all her bills.

"I looked for you everywhere. Where are you, E?" Arley asked as Eden entered the kitchen.

Eden couldn't possibly tell Arley that she had just had a bad experience. Eden saw Alexander beat up a man who wanted to r*pe her so viciously that he almost died. Arley would surely panic and take the man to the police station and drag Alexander's name. Eden didn't want the problem to become big and spread everywhere.

"I …"

"Hey, why are your cheeks red?? Who hit you??" asked Arley again, she saw the red finger marks on Eden's pretty face.

"I accidentally fell," Eden answered covering her wound with hair.

"Don't lie, E! Let me see!"

"No, Arley. Let's get back to work. It's only a matter of time before our hours are over and I'll get my paycheck." Eden rushed to set the glasses on the tray. But the kitchen door opened, a man entered along with the manager of the hotel where Eden was currently working.

"Sorry, Mr. Kai. I had no idea that this girl spilled wine on Mr Alexander's clothes." Manager and Kairos approached Eden. Eden raised an eyebrow in confusion. Wine?? Her job was to bring champagne, not wine. After all, who spilled the drink on Alexander's shirt?? The red stain was blood, not wine! Was this man dumb?

"You have to take responsibility, Miss Eden." Kairos accuses Eden on Alexander's orders.

"Shit!" Eden muttered.

Alexander knew, even if he spoke nicely, Eden would not obey his orders to go home and stop working. That girl was too stubborn. So… Alexander was forced to resort to devious means by abusing his power.

"Oh no!" Arley covered her mouth. Why was Eden desperate to bothered a powerful man?? Had she lost her mind?

Eden was speechless, she couldn't refute Kairos' words because the manager suddenly came and fired her.

"You're fired!! Leave this kitchen and hotel immediately." He kick her out fiercely.

"But, sir!" Eden wanted to protest.

"Now!!" he snapped.

Eden glanced at Kairos, Alexander's trusted man could only hide his guilt through a flat smile. Honestly, he really felt sorry for Eden, but the alpha's orders were absolute. What's more, it's also his duty to protect Luna and bring her home safely.

Eden took a deep breath, there was nothing else she could do. Alexander really was a lousy guy!! Ugh… Eden wanted to scream and curse at this wet dog.

"OK!! I will get out from here! But give me my salary first!!" Eden slammed the apron on the serving table.

"Money?? You asking me for money!! Don't joke! Your salary isn't even enough to cover Mr. Lupo's expensive suit laundry!! No salary!! Get out of here right now!!" Shout out the manager in a high tone.

Eden stares dumbfounded, no salary?? No money?? After working hard all day around with heavy tray in this ridiculous maid outfit, working so hard that her back and arms are about to break, there isn't even a bit of money for her to bring home with??!

[ What a scumbag! He didn't even listen to my excuses first and instead withheld my money!] Eden thought.

"Fuck!!" Eden cursed in a high tone and nudged the manager's shoulder. Arley, the manager, and the other kitchen staff were flabbergasted at her cursing.

Kairos just stifled a laugh, what a fierce and brave girl like Alexander said.

Eden disappeared behind the employee locker room. Step as wide as possible to quickly leave the hotel. Kairos smiled sweetly and left the kitchen. The man would wait for Eden downstairs and take her home as the Alpha's ordered.

"No!! I can go home by myself." Eden refused Kairos' offer to take her home. The tall man with dark brown hair had opened the luxury car door for Eden.

"Sorry, Luna. I do not offer. But I insist. Getting you home safely is Alpha's command. So I have to make sure you come home safe with my own eyes." replied Kairos.

Eden massaged her temples, were all of Alexander's men really that annoying like his master??

"Come on, Luna." Invite Kairos again.

Eden bit her lip, her body was already very tired from working hard today. But was this man really going to take her home?? Didn't kidnap her like Alexander used to?

"Calm down, Luna. I will not kidnap you. Alpha said sooner or later you will definitely come to him voluntarily." Kairos seemed to be able to guess what was in Eden's heart.

"Never!!" Eden answered curtly but kept getting into the car. Fuck off if Kairos kidnapped her, her body was too tired and her heart was so disappointed because she couldn't get a penny today.

Kairos smiled and shifted into the driver's seat to escort Eden back to her house.

"Was Alexander the one who told you to slander me spilling wine on his clothes that I couldn't get my salary?"

"Yes." Kairos nodded, "I'm sorry Luna. I have to, Alpha's orders are absolute."

"Why do you keep calling me Luna?? My name is not Luna, my name is Eden," said Eden.

"You are Alpha's future wife, of course I should call you Luna." replied Kairos.

"No way!! Who would want to marry that wet dog?" Eden immediately shouted, goosebumps when she heard that she had to marry Alexander Lupo.

"Destiny, mate is inseparable." Kairos told Eden about mate, Eden was annoyed, was she the only one who doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'mate?'

"Mate?"

"Yes, mate, fated bond within body and soul."

"So … we're mean to be together?"

"More than that. Ah… We arrive, Luna." Kairos opened the car door for Eden. Eden got out of the car with a sullen face because her curiosity about Mate had not been satisfied.

"Alpha said, you can get a job at the mension. Please contact him as soon as possible." Kairos looked at Eden gently before leaving her to went back to the car.

Eden took out Alexander's name card which was creased in her jeans pocket. Alexander had put it on Eden's lips after they kissed. Eden reads the name card, Alexander Lupo, address, phone number, and email.

"Tsk, I will never work for him!!" Eden entered her house. Just a few steps.

Pst …!

The lights went out… darkness enveloped Eden's house. The electricity cut was due to three months of arrears in payments and currently Eden has absolutely no money to pay for it.

"OK!! I'll be work for him tomorrow!!" exclaimed Eden desperately!!
