"How did you know I was getting a bad day?" Eden frowned, confused. Ace, you weren't there that night, were you?!
Then, how do you know, Ace?
"Your wrinkled face is telling me that you've been going through a lot of bad things lately." Ace smiled. Eden immediately touched her face. Was Ace said true? That her face was so dull?
"Well… I don't know what to say, Ace. It's a long story." Eden walked beside Ace towards her class.
The second-floor corridor was quite busy, with other students passing by. Now and then, the girls greeted Ace. Ace didn't care; his focus was only on Eden.
"I have plenty of time to listen to your story, E. How about we meet after school?" Ace escorted Eden first before returning to his class.
"Unfortunately, I can't, Ace. I have to go to work after school. I'm sorry." Eden replied. Ace's face looked disappointed, but Ace couldn't show his feelings for Eden. True, he should not be tempted to fall in love with this girl. His duty as the supreme mage was to take care of humanity, not to deal with his overflowing emotions because Eden was very similar to his late lover. The girlfriend he had hundreds of years ago.
"Ah, where do you work now? Does your job have anything to do with the man who picked you up yesterday?" Ace, who was very curious, finally asked Eden bluntly.
"Huh? Did you see us?" Eden was surprised.
"Am I not supposed to see you guys?" Ace furrowed his brows. Why was his heart upset to hear that?! Eden's behavior was like a lover who hides the truth about her affair.
"No... it's not like that. I don't want you to get the wrong perception because I walk with a much older man. I only work as a maid at his house," Eden answered, explaining her job status.
"a maid?"
"Right, wearing a silly uniform with lace down the front. Maybe I should clean his super big house and mop the floor until it's shiny." Eden laughed awkwardly, explaining the job of a maid to Ace.
"Until the host himself, picked you up?" Ace gasped actually. When he found out that Eden was not the werewolf he was looking for, Ace had to leave the school. Stop meddling in the affairs of humans and erase their memories of Ace's figure, the basketball team leader who all girls admired in school. But somehow, Ace still couldn't let go of Eden, who was so similar to his late lover Edith. And seeing Eden with Alexander and Alexander's way of protecting Eden made Ace feels jealous.
"Well… our relationship is quite complicated, Ace. But believe me, there's nothing between us." Eden arrived in front of the class. Like Jackson said. Eden was not a mate from Alexander, and Eden didn't want to make other people misunderstand their relationship even more. Enough with the relationship between master and maid that Ace needed to know.
"I trust you." Ace rubbed the top of Eden's head and left her to go to his class. Eden waited until Ace's back was no longer seen before entering the classroom.
Ace looked back. He saw Eden's figure, who was still waiting for him in front of the class. Eden waved and smiled. Ace also returned the parting smile.
[Right, Alexander shouldn't have any relationship with Eden. One is a werewolf, and another is a human. But why is Alexander so angry when they intimidate Eden. He even abandoned the peace agreement with the Wizard and nearly killed all of that human. How could he risk the safety of his kind for the sake of a girl, for the sake of a human.] Ace thought. [ I hope I haven't missed anything. I wish I could trust you, E.]

In the classroom, Eden sat near the window. As usual, hm … no, now things felt different. No one bullied Eden anymore. All her classmates turned to bully Bianca.
Eden stared at Bianca. Her hair was now terse, like a hair style for Men. Bianca might have had to trim it down that short because it was cut carelessly by her former gang mates.
Bianca's face also looked tired; there were bruises on the left cheek and scratch marks on the right one. Wow, they might have fought so fiercely. This sight was supposed can make Eden's heart happy because now her enemy was experiencing the pain and shame that Eden had felt before. But… Eden even felt guilty.
Eden knew Alexander caused Bianca's family to go bankrupt. And Alexander did all that bad things for Eden because Bianca had dared to disturb his Luna.
"No, I shouldn't interfere," Eden muttered, didn't want to be the bullying victim like Bianca any more. But …
Eden was looking at Bianca, who sat alone while her body shook violently with fear. Fear of being bullied again by the superior girls in her class before class starts. Despite acting strong, being tortured for so long finally made the girl's guts wane.
"use this. Your bruises will get a lot better." Eden placed the bruise ointment on Bianca's table. Eden used to carry the balm everywhere because Marvel and Vica often beat her until she bruised. First aid before the swelling got bigger.
"I don't need your pity. Do you want to insult me?!" Bianca pushed Eden's medicine away from her face.
Eden just stared flatly and then replied, "Tsk, is your esteem really that high?! Even though now you are no different from me. We are both poor and abandoned?"
Bianca turned to Eden. Both of them stared at each other for a moment before Eden finally grabbed the medicine and rubbed it on Bianca's face.
"Don't!" Bianca was about to push Eden's hand away. Eden didn't care, she kept putting medicine on Bianca's face. Eden's conscience couldn't see Bianca suffer even though the girl's pride made Eden so irritated.
"Don't move too much! I have to even out the medicine so you can get well soon! Don't let your face swell!" Eden insisted, to be honest, Eden felt guilty towards Bianca. This was a small favor that Eden could do for Bianca.
Bianca was silent, no longer rebellious. She accepted Eden's help with compliance. She suffered a lot, and Eden's little care made her feel so much better. And the best thing was she felt no longer lonely. Instead, there was a shame because she had done something terrible to Eden.
"Thanks, E. Even though I was very mean to you. But you still want to help me. I don't know what else to say but sorry. I'm really sorry." Bianca lowered her head in shame as she recalled the memories of the two of them's past. Bianca often bullied Eden, and now she is in Eden's position.
"Forget it. It's all in the past. I'm sorry too." Eden took a deep breath before returning to her seat. She apologized because Alexander really went too far in punishing someone.
[I'll talk to Alex later.] Eden looked out the window again. Bianca lowered her head and sobbed quietly.
The awkwardness continued until the first class started. Mr. Timothy came in. The first semester was over, and the semester break was about to come.
He announced in a loud voice, "we will go on a field trip, a kind of summer camp for three days and two nights in the wild, bonfire, BBQ party, while getting acquainted. Feel the fun of sleeping in a tent. A required program for class XII students, and an additional program for class X and XI students." [Must be fun, and Ace is there too.] Eden thought.
"Hurray!!" Everyone cheered. Only Eden was silent. Now she had a steady job that she could not leave without Alexander's permission. Eh ... unknowingly, Alexander today had a hand in her life.
"Because this event is not required for class XI, you have to get permission from your parents if you want to participate. Camp equipment will be provided when we depart later. We will be one with nature!"
"Yes, Sir!!" Exclaimed all the second graders in unison with shining happy faces. Only Eden and Bianca didn't. For Bianca because she had no money, if for Eden. It was because she had no other guardian besides Alexander at this time. Mr. Timothy handed out a permit sheet that had to be signed by the parents. Eden read it and bit her lip anxiously.
"Oh, I wish Alexander would let me!" Eden gave a long snort.

.
But... when she came home.
"No! I won't let you get out of my sight for even a second!!" Alexander immediately refused as soon as Eden asked him. Even her thin lips hadn't finished saying the summer camp permission yet.
"Why? It's a school trip, you know!!"
"The letter said that is Just an additional activity for second grade. So It's okay if you do not go, right?"
"Alex!" Eden yelled, protested.
