Chapter 47: Edith Grey

[Blue Tower, Wizard Academy]

Every year, qualified wizards would get a promotion. Those who were the best will learn more difficult magic spells according to their type of magic.

Each class had five levels of learning. The light blue robes were level one to five, the navy blue robes were level six to ten, and the dark blue robes were eleven to fifteen. And after they passed all that learning, they would become wizards who were ready to serve outside the magic tower. (At that time, Ace was at level 9 while Edith was 10.)

What was the wizard's job?

Be an advisor to the king. Accompany in the king's palace and advise the king wisely. Usually, only supreme mages carry out this task.

Accompany the nobility.

Become a medic for war victims.

Repairing damage caused by natural disasters.

Keeping the natural cycle in balance.

The main hall was so big. There were three rows of super long tables with wooden chairs. The students lined up; they sat in groups according to the color of their robes—light blue with light blue, navy blue with navy blue, and dark blue with dark blue. Meanwhile, in the front row, there was a long table where the supreme mage and teachers sat.

Flames burning brightly lit up the room and gave warmth. It was almost autumn, and the air was starting to feel cold. Bottles of wine flew here and there to provide drinks for the witches. Countless bread, meats, and other foods filled the table—dinner before class promotion.

Ace kept stealing glances at Edith. His beloved girl was busy tasting all the sweets until her eyes sparkled with joy. Her beautiful face made Ace choose to forget his plate and fascinated in watching Edith.

Edith Grey was a farmer's daughter from a small village near the capital. She had long wavy grey hair beautiful eyes with different eyes color. Blue and Green. She had a pointed nose and two dimples on each side of her cheeks. She was such a lovely girl. 

Ting! Ting! Ting!

Xavier, the supreme mage at the time, rose from his seat. He lightly hit the glass with a silver spoon to find the focus of his students. His face was so modest. His hair and long beard were long and white. Even though he can't age, Xavier still changes his face to be old. He wanted to tell the wizards to stay humble and wise because without magic, they were just ordinary human who could age and die.

"Good afternoon, my dear students in wizard academy. Today we gather at this place to evaluate our one year of learning as magicians. The best wizards were born in the middle of this hall and put LUMINOUS to good use for the benefit of many." Xavier had managed to make all eyes stare in awe at him.

"Are you ready to listen to anyone who leveled up this time?" Xavier asked.

"Of course!!" Everyone shouted with joy.

"Alright, from the light blue class, each level there will be one wizard who advances. That means there are five people. They are..." Xavier read out one by one the young wizards who were advancing in class. They immediately hugged each other happily. Never thought they would pass such a difficult mage exam.

"Next from the Navy blue class." Xavier unrolled the second parchment of the navy blue class. The teachers had given the conclusion of their evaluation to Xavier.

Suddenly the owners of navy blue robes immediately turned to the front, they were waiting anxiously. If they didn't pass, they have to repeat another year of study.

"There will be five people, firstly, Ace white wizard to level 10, Bazel Black Wizard to level 7, Eros Green Wizard to level 9, and Naomi Red Wizard to level 9. And lastly…" Xavier looked at Edith. All eyes in the hall turned to look at Edith with curiosity.

Edith swallowed the rest of the sweet pastry in her mouth. She didn't understand why everyone there, even the supreme mage looked at her like they saw a ghost in broad daylight? Ace looked at Edith, his breath caught. Would Edith be leveling up? Oh of course, Edith was a genius wizard with great LUMINOUS powers, Edith even mastered four kinds of magic. White, Black, Red, and Green. Of course Edith would level up to become a dark blue wizard. Everyone knew that too.

"Well… Edith. The teachers can't teach you anymore. They say you're too good. So… starting next school year. You'll be learning magic under my direction." Xavier returned the parchment scroll. The students immediately became excited, buzzing talked about her. Edith scratched her non-itchy head, her gray hair looking silver in the glow of the flames torches above the dome.

Only this time, there was a mage who leveled up six levels at once. Graduated at such a young age and studied under the auspices of the supreme mage

"What?" Ace was dumbfounded, he thought he could catch up, but in fact, Edith was getting harder and harder to reach.

"Come here, honey. You should be sitting next to us." Xavier asked Edith to move from her seat in the midst of the other students to the teachers' pulpit.

Edith looked at Ace. Heavily, Ace nodded encouragingly at Edith. Edith smiled and walked forward. All the teachers clapped, greeted with applause from the students.

"Ah, right, I should be proud. Right, I should be happy to see her succeed." Ace joined, be the one the loudest clapping. Edith smiled at Ace.

Ace looked at Edith from a distance. Even though the two of them were lovers who loved each other, Ace felt that they were so far apart.

Ace was very inferior to Edith's strength that was so great. He never expected that The highest mage on this continent would directly educate Edith.

"Aaaah..." Alex opened his mouth wide. Eden fed a piece of medium well done cooked lamb steak in.

"Are you full, Big Baby?!" Asked Eden with annoyance. She was a nanny for this big baby wolfy.

"Yeah, I'm stuffed. Now it's time to take a bath." Alexander grinned.

"I don't want to bathe you!!"

"you have to or I will force you!"

"Do you have to be this annoying, huh?"

"Oh, don't be so fierce, little bunny."

"I have to be fierce facing a boss who has so many wants as much as you, pervert wolf."

"Ah, since when did we call each other with affection like this?" Alexander chuckled.

"That's not a sweet call! That's a mockery! You dummy!" Eden answered Alex.

"Yeah ... yeah ... yeah, whatever. Let's go to the bathroom. Looks like Jared has prepared warm water." Alexander asked Eden to carry out her duties as a personal servant.

With a heavy heart, Eden followed Alex's footsteps to the bathroom.

"Enough with rubbing your back right?" asked Eden.

"Yup! Rub it with all your might." Alexander took off all his clothes in front of Eden. Eden looked away.

Alex took a dip, soaking in the warm rose-scented water. The aroma from the bath boom was added to relax the body. A bottle of wine accompanied Alex's bath, along with the aromatic candle.

"How long are you going to stand there, Baby Girl?" Alex asked.

Eden came closer, she took the scrubbing sponge and started to strongly rub Alexander's back. Eden put all her strength into rubbing Alex's back. The girl wished that his skin would be scratched, unfortunately, Alex even enjoyed it.

"I let you go to summer camp. But Jackson had to go too."

"No!!!"

"Then don't go."

"You can't do it! You had permitted me earlier." Eden protest.

"I'm not retracting my words, Baby! But I can't take care of you there and that frustrates me."

"I'm not a baby to take care of."

"Anyway, Jackson has to go with you if you really want to go to the summer camp!" Alex looked firm, if he acted like this Eden could no longer argue.

"I don't like him. That man hates me so much. He's annoying." Eden wiped Alex's neck with a sponge. Alex turned to Eden.

"How could it be?? Nobody hates you, Baby! You're my Luna." Alex touched Eden's chin. Eden's face blushed.

"Really, Alex?? Are you really sure that I am your Luna?" Eden's question made Alex stop stroking her chin. Eden was right, until now, Alex's little heart was still unsure. Actually, why was Eden who was an ordinary human being able to make him feel a great vibration that he couldn't refuse?

"Why are you silent? Are you having doubts too?"
