A very old Thing of twisted flesh and broken mind writhed though the empty space of a dying universe. 

There was only one light left.

The Thing raced towards the light in fear the Cold and the Dark

It had done this, It knew.

The Thing had always been hungry.

It could not truly think, not anymore.

Running solely on instinct the Thing ran from the End it had caused to the only source of hope.

The universe was collapsing in on itself.

It was not fast enough.

The Thing watched in horror and despair as the light, so very close now, guttered out like a candle.

The thing screamed from an unknowable amount of mouths.

The End had passed It.

It remained.

It was still hungry.
