Busujima Saeko POV
Looking at the well-crafted katana that reflect red light upon contacted with the moonlight, I was momentarily mesmerized by its beauty. It wasn't just that but the blade also look sharp, I wonder where did Youji-kun found this—speaking of which, he possessed strange power unlike anyone.
He could easily punch a hole in the wall with his superhuman strength if he wanted to. I haven't heard of someone like him before, had I knew before the world turned into this, I might have challenge him to test out my skill. To have him as ally in our current circumstances could be said to be a good thing, especially his new trait that seems awfully familiar to me.
He also enjoyed battle as much as me, I could see that when I was watching him from the balcony moments prior. Perhaps, he might accept me for who I am—however my heart refused to acknowledge that. I know my own worth, I don't think I deserved happiness after what I have been through.
The world might have changed on the surface, but on the fundamental level, things remained just the same. I shook my head, fortunately the especially tough zombie had its attention focused on Youji otherwise my distraction might be my downfall. I am still nowhere as skilled as that person, I sighed when I recalled the movement that flow as naturally as the wind.
If father was here, he could easily take down the tough zombie with a single swing of his sword. It was for this reason that I wasn't particularly worried about my family unlike the others, I know they can protect themselves. However, even someone like him might have trouble dealing with Youji. If it was a fight between life and death though, the results is debatable.
I reached out my hand toward the katana, once I could feel the cold texture of the handle against my fingers, I grabbed onto it tightly. With a sigh, I beheaded the short zombie after pulling the katana out its chest.
"Good sword," I muttered before turning my attention back to the muscle zombies. Currently, it was hitting the ground repeatedly as Youji keep dodging each of its attack with ease. The latter also tried to punch it in return, however, as if the muscle zombie understood how dangerous he is, it instinctively raise its muscle arms to protect itself.
It seems that Youji had finally found his match, or maybe he's hiding more power than he showed. I am more inclined to believe the latter for some reasons, of course him being calm under such a situation that would normally freak people out also contributed to my belief.
I calmly raise the katana to my shoulder level before I rush toward the muscle zombies in a swift. It must have sensed the incoming danger as it turned around as quickly as it could, however, it doesn't have enough time to use its strong arms to protect itself as the katana was already in swinging motion.
"GROAR!"
It roared as blood splattered, the katana easily leave a deep gushing long cut on the chest. I expertly dodged the bulging arm by sidestepping to the side as it heavily smashed the asphalt road, there was a spiderweb-like crack upon impact. And then, I suddenly ducked down as another bulging arms barely missed me by hairbreadth. Despite being bigger and taller than my own heights, its movement was quite slow in my eyes.
Thump!
While it was focusing on me, it completely ignored Youji by showing its back to him. That was a mistake as the latter took the chance by slamming his fist at its shoulder's blade, thus creating a loud impact as it tumbled forward.
"My turn," I whispered as I quickly darted against the wall before propelling myself toward the zombie with a strong jump. I raised the katana up in the air and slash it down before the latter could protect its head.
And just like that, I beheaded the muscle zombie in one quick motion. However, we didn't have time to rest as there was still a good amount of zombies on the street. We exchanged smiles before Youji takes the lead as I followed right behind him as we slowly exterminated every zombies across the street.
Arf! Arf!
All of sudden, I turned around and saw a dog running toward us while barking. Right behind it was a small group of zombies, the corner of my lips curled up. With a real katana in my hand, it didn't take long before we clear the whole street.
I was then introduced to the duo who Youji had rescued, it was a father and his daughter. The latter seems scared of my junior as she hides behind her father when they talked, I couldn't help but giggle at that. When the small one curiously turned her head toward me, I smile—though I'm also not good with kids, I don't really hate them either.
Then we lead the two to the house, and before the gate, Saya and the others were already waiting. Some of them noticed the katana in my hand, without the scabbard, I could only hold onto them with caution in mind. I wonder if Youji had it hidden somewhere, it would be a shame if that wasn't the case.

Amamiya Youji POV

Once I return to the house, I was greeted with a glare from a certain pink haired girl. Shizuka-neesan still looks sleepy, she was so adorable that I wish to pinch her cheeks this instant, but I held it in.
As to be expected, I was lectured by Saya for my reckless action. If it wasn't for Saeko appearing in a timely manner, I might have exhausted myself before I could come up with the idea of consuming the zombies to restore my stamina.
From the beginning, I knew my plan was ridiculous. If anything, I was even prepared for the worst—if I was truly cornered, I had a feeling I could surpass my limit and created an insane beast as a results. It's just my guts feeling though so I could be wrong.
Still, my plan succeed and no one was hurt. A wise man once said, hitting three birds with one stone, I guessed this is what they meant by that. Was it supposed to be two? I don't care.
I once again introduced the family to the others, then we get a little acquaintances with one another. There wasn't much to speak of though, just how we survived this long and whatnot—generally boring stuff. Before long, the little girl was fast asleep on her father's lap in the living room. By then, Shizuka-neesan already went back to the bedroom on the second floor to resume her sleep.
The girls also ended up in the same room while the boys were with me, I had my own bedroom obviously and they were now discussing about guns. Meanwhile, I'm the only one standing in the balcony while gazing at the bridge in the distance. For now, this neighborhood will be peaceful for at least a few days. If nothing goes wrong on the bridge, that can span longer.
The opposite will happen if an accident occurs over there, I thought as I let out a sigh. I turned my head back into my bedroom, the boys were too focused in their discussion that they completely ignored the man of the house. But this is good for me, I can finally use this chance to create what I've been planning so far.
First of all, to cover up my only weaknesses of having low stamina, I will create a beast with the ability to restore stamina under the sunlight and moonlight, aka an advanced solar panel. Then I let out the dark tendrils to appear from my palm before devouring it, thus acquired the new abilities.
I immediately pick up the change in my body, especially my stamina regeneration as it suddenly speed up with me gazing up at the moon in the night sky. And just like that, my stamina was fully restored.
I pulled out the red gemstone with the size of a pingpong ball from my pocket, I was wondering if I should devour this thing. I'm partially worried if there's any side effect to it, I don't want to become a zombie yet as I hadn't graduated from my virgin status.
Plus, I'm not really interested in its ability to stretch it's tongue out—I already have shadow tentacles. On the other hand, I'm definitely interested in the muscle zombie. I put my hand into my pocket again before bringing out another red gemstone, this time the color is a lot more darker.
I couldn't hide this thing from Saeko since she was there when I took this. I briefly told her how I found out about it when we first met the strange zombie at school, and my speculation that the gemstone might be the cause of their specialty. She didn't ask any further knowing I'm also as clueless as her, and we decided not to tell the rest yet so that they wouldn't be worried.
Since I don't have to worry about wasting stamina and risking my life, I decides to simply create a small humanoid dark-like creature with the same devour ability. It doesn't have any intelligent as to be expected. Moments later, I command it to consumed the tongue stretcher gemstone and wait silently for any strong reaction.
However, a few minutes passed and nothing abnormal happen. Then with a thought, the humanoid creature that was sitting on top of my palm suddenly stood up and opened its mouth. Suddenly, a small but long tendril stretched out from its mouth, it's working.
After a few minutes, I come to the conclusion that there was no side effects, at least nothing instantaneous. There doesn't seems to be any bad physical changes either as the humanoid creature can also return the tongue to its original length—I couldn't help but thought of another possibility, unfortunately it only works for tongue otherwise hehe.
Hey I don't really have problem with my size personally, but it could be fun to play around with the length, no? If it works on other body parts, I could also become Luffy in this world, it was truly unfortunate.
Now that I knows that there wasn't any obvious physical changes, my fear lessen but not completely. But first, I dissolved the humanoid creature as it turned into glittering light swept away by my breath. I don't feel any losses for the tongue stretcher gemstone since it wasn't anything great to begin with, to others perhaps but not me.
Again, I created another humanoid creature at the size of half my palm before feeding it the gemstone. The way it nibbles like it was some kind of snack makes me thought of how cute it was, but a few seconds later, it already ate everything. Just like what I saw with the previous one, there weren't any changes to my relief.
It suddenly jumped from my palm to the balcony parapet, then without a sound, it swing its fist hard to the surface. I watched in amazement as a small spiderweb-like crack begin to appeared from the impact. Although its arm looks thinner than the muscle zombie, the strength was still as formidable. However, I was more interested in its toughness as showcased before.
My finger suddenly turned into a blade as I unhesitatingly tried to cut its limb off, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was still perfectly intact. I thought I was seeing things so I repeated it again, but the results remained unchanged.
Without wasting any time, dark tendrils once again emerged from my palm as it swallowed the humanoid creature in. I could feel the immediate change, for instance, the muscles around my arms seems to be a lot more solid and stronger judging from my sense of touch.
