My shadows did a great job from the get-go, making few orcs around me busy. They couldn't fight for long, since their bodies were unable to withstand even a single blow, but I kept summoning them.

That gave me enough space to fight. I was not playing around, and from the start doing my very best. Thye couldn't match my speed and strength. They couldn't block my attack, nor avoid them, and I was killing dozens at an incredible rate grabbing a lot of attention.

We managed to hold a minute, or maybe two, and then I shouted:

- Run!

Blue had to hear it, as I noticed a white blur of a jumping werewolf. He landed on the side of one of the closest buildings and started climbing. Few arrows flew through the air, mostly missing, and bouncing off the wall, but some did hit him and sunk in his back. He ignored them, making his way to the roof, then vanished.

I followed right after using shadow walk, to make my way there.

- Charge! - Will's battle cry caught my ears as my friends attacked from the other side, grabbing orcs attention.

Allowing us to escape with ease. I quickly caught up to Blue and took the arrows from his back. The wounds closed up almost immediately. He was covered in his own blood, but actually not much, just a bit of red here and there.

- Let's go further. We need to get rid of those mages before they will throw those fireballs at our people.

He growled.

The sky on the horizon, in direction of goblin territory, was black from all of the smoke from burning buildings. They were far away, and it seemed like flames are spreading relatively slow, but still, they had to be put down.

I started running, jumping from roof to roof. Blue followed me with ease. We made our way deeper into the enemy's lines. Fortunately, orcs kept up to only a few alleys and were marching forward, like their goal was to reach the device.

Few fireballs shot through the sky again and made it deeper into the city. Explosions shook the ground, but we didn't stop. There was nothing we could do about it.

Then we turned, to get closer to the procession of orkish forces, and finally jumped out of the roofs. We didn't quite reach the mages, and instead landed among tall, red-skinned orcs with naked, tattooed torsos.

I immediately noticed a difference in strength and speed, as a few swung their axes at me. Still, I could deal with them. I parried few and dodged the rest with shadow walk, and summoned my faithful servants. They had even worse chances than with regular orcs but served as a great distraction.

I cut a few and then discovered what those guys were about. They didn't turn to smoke, even when I sliced their necks open, and instead kept fighting with deafening battle cries, that shook the city.

This made the fight way harder, but that was not the end. They actually kept getting stronger and more savage. None of them even tried to block, or dodge my attack, they just swung their axes harder. They clearly were some types of berserkers.

I had no other choice, but to shadow walk out of there, but running away now was not an option. Instead, I focused on delivering precise cuts into vital points and moving further, away from them. I had to leave Blue alone.

With few jumps, I managed to get a whole bunch of those red orcs very angry, and also finally reached the mages.

They couldn't use their fire magic against me very efficiently in close combat, and on top of that, I brought with myself a bunch of enraged savages. This immediately created chaos. My shadows finally could deliver some damage to the spellcasters, focused on desperately trying to get away.

Not too much because they actually pretty quickly vanished to the strikes from a crazy bunch of red orcs following me. Few of those barbarians fell eventually, probably due to blood loss, and their corpses turned to smoke.

Blue joined me out of nowhere, jumping down from the nearby roof. The two of us managed to kill many mages, but the berserkers chased us away, and we had to retreat. It was a pain in the ass to deal with those guys. Maybe if I could cut them in half, or something, the situation would be different, but their bodies were very sturdy. I needed way more power in my arms for that.

Will's group was still engaged in a battle. Even in all of the chaos surrounding us, we could hear them shouting among themselves. It seemed like they are doing pretty good.

- Let's join them - I yelled to Blue and rushed towards my friends.

They were fighting with regular orcs. I was surprised that they managed to cut quite a bit of ground for themselves, and actually block the horde in one spot.

Boris, Nil, and Midnight were enough to block one of the alleys completely.

Nobuo was deeper into the enemy ranks, surrounded, and still doing fine. His refined technique and rapid strikes were enough to cut down immediately any enemies close to him.

Hideaki, Ryuu, and Will were enough to block the second one. The third was kept by Juan, Hailwic, and Martin.

They didn't expect our arrival at all. When we landed next to Nobuo and just started bodying the orcs, the battle seemed to be going heavily in our favor. Unfortunately for us, the armored giant units arrived, and we were forced to gradually give them more, and more space.

- Retreat! - shouted Will at some point.

The battle was going on for too long. We needed to rest if even for a moment.

- Go! Go! I'll keep them busy! - I replied.

As they, one by one, started running, I did my best to tie as many orcs as possible in a fight with me. It was a very hard task, considering I had to be on three fronts, but shadow walk again helped a lot. Just like my not-so-useless shadow summons.

It barely created enough space for my friends to successfully disengage with the horde and disappear between the ruins.
