The next fifty days went on in a kinda boring manner. I would hunt every day with Ki'rai, give my friends a lift to bear cave, then hunt some alone, and take them back with a quick pitstop to kill the boss. In total, I got myself 1 139 035 400 points and 150 class points.
I discovered few things, like the environment in the hunting grounds would heal itself. The devastated clearing was brand new the very next day after my first battle there.
I bought all the upgrades of 'Initiate of flame' since it was the most useful class in the toughest hunting ground I was covering. I went even as far as to unlock my first third-tier class of the 'Fire elementalist' tree. The 'Fire magus'. Just to hunt there more efficiently.
It gave me access to the following skills: 'Control flame III', 'Create flame III', 'Mana III', 'Fire resistance II', 'Combustion II', 'Chained combustion', 'Living flame', 'Scorch'.
I ended up upgrading each one of those to the fifth level.
This opened a whole new world of fire magic to me. I could now create walls or other shapes of fire with ease. Produce beams of scorching hot energy. Throw missiles that would explode in a chain manner with devastating power. Moreover, I could create seemingly living beings made out of the fire, that would deliver my flames avoiding obstacles, or even pursue the target, like birds, burning butterflies, and many other shapes.
Those were not really alive. Not even in a way of summons created by the device. It was more like means of delivering my flames. Still, very useful when I was able to spawn hundreds of small birds that would chaise the pixies.
I possessed the destructive power of a tank, with a shooting rate of a machine gun. Plus I could be very creative with my fire skills making flames burst out of the floor creating pillars of fire, or even tornados. Small ones, though. I could make water boil in the splits of a second or heat up my food. The possibilities were endless.
On top of that my mana pool got really damn big. Influencing the other skills using this type of energy. But that was not all, since passing through the boundary of ten thousand mana points unlocked me another hidden class, 'Mana weaver'.
I bought it immediately since its skills were very useful. I gained access to the following: 'Amplified mana regeneration', 'Mana pool', 'Raw mana control', 'Raw mana manipulation'. I ended up upgrading all of those to the fourth level.
I also accumulated four thousand strength upgrades over time and three thousand six hundred condition upgrades.
Lastly, I got two last 'Shadow pilgrim' skills to the sixth level, both 'Hide presence' and 'Shadow permit'.
It took some time, so the effects of all of those accumulated only at the end of my endeavors, making hunting so easy, I started thinking of going after stronger bosses.
On the last day, of this period of time, I found Hatta waiting for me next to the device, as I returned from my hunt.
- I need to talk to you.
- Something important?
- We had an issue. Blue had, to be precise, but this leads to an issue for all of us.
- Let me sell my score, and wash up, then I'll come to your office.
- Ok - and he left.
I did what I said, and visited him in the room illuminated by the olive lamps. He was sitting behind the table on the left, slowly drinking some alcohol from a glass.
- Some of Blue's people were hunting harpies. Just as you told him, he insisted they would avoid the boss, but as they got stronger with time there was a proposition to try and kill it. It came from Maia.
- Fuck...
- Twenty people died. She managed to somehow survive, although heavily wounded. She lost an arm and an eye. He also kicked her from his team. Now he wants to change the territory. He wants to switch with Will and the rest.
- Did you talk with them?
- Yes. Opinions are divided, but basically, everybody wants to get access to more class points. According to Blue, they should be able to take down orc boss now, but they also want more crystals...
- So you basically want me to give up one of my territories?
- Two.
- Seriously?
- It wasn't my idea. You had multiple territories for yourself for a long period of time. Others also want to get stronger. Besides, we need to expand. You can find yourself in some harder places, can't you?
- Well...
- We were going to discuss this tomorrow. I just wanted to give you a heads up. Nothing is set in stone yet, but you can count on people pushing those ideas forward. I'll send somebody for you, but I bet Will is gonna pay you an early morning visit.
- Thanks - I sighed. - I need to think this through. There are places I can go, but I need to scout them first.
- I'm sure we will find a compromise.
- I think so too... Ok, I'm gonna go now. I'm hungry.
- Good night, Peter.
- Night, Hatta.
I left him, considering the options in my head. There were plenty of places around, but not all of those had bosses I could kill. Not to mention my friends for sure shouldn't even try engaging with those ruling over the hunting grounds they were interested in. I didn't want them to die.
There was also a fact that some hidden classes were very dangerous in the wrong hands. 'Hemomancer', 'Necromancer', and 'Psion' for example. I didn't want a lunatic having them under their disposal, and especially Blue. Will and others taking over the canyon was a good thing in this matter.
I finally got to the cafeteria and ate, then I went straight to sleep.
The day came to an end with 141 728 129 points remaining on my account, and seventy class points.
