The next two days were focusing only on hunting. Each time I managed to get to those freaking stairs, I also couldn't make myself climb them. Even when I could produce enough water to take a shower right there.
You might ask why, and my answer would be that there was no end to the steps! I kept climbing, and climbing, and climbing, and climbing some more, but nothing was changing. I would drop the anchor and continue the next day, but I was short on those.
I ended up earning 88 767 000 points and twelve more class points, which I left, for now.
On the third day's morning, the device got finally upgraded, so almost nobody went hunting. There was a gigantic line to use it. I was waiting with Rishi, and the rest of my friends, just like anybody else was.
- So, what's the first thing you are gonna buy guys? - I asked them.
- I'm buying a freaking deodorant and comfortable shoes - replayed Will.
- Oh, yeah. The deodorant is a great idea - agreed Boris.
- I can't wait for kevlar - said Rishi. - I would be able to make a comfortable armor now. Something way better than enchanted leather.
- A new blade - said Nobuo.
- Perfumes - said Hailwic.
- Toothpaste - said Nil. - And dome chewing gum.
- What about you, Peter? - asked Will.
- All of the above, without the blade. By the way, from now on we also should be able to sell the waste. Like trash. For a minimal profit.
- Really? - asked Boris, surprised.
- Yep. I should have mentioned that to Hatta before...
- I'm sure people will be fighting over garbage now - he continued.
- Only stuff brought in the device can be sold back, so there won't be that much fighting.
- We will see - sadi Hailwic, clearly skeptical to my words.
The conversation went on until we finally were able to do some shopping. I went last, finally buying new shoes made out of kevlar and rubber, new pants, and a hoodie. This time I was a bit fancy, knowing that those clothes should last for longer after being enchanted, so I put a skull covered in smoke on the back to look cooler.
It was quickly ridiculed by everybody, but I didn't care! Rishi took the items and immediately went to work on them. The rest of us also dispersed, rushing to wash ourselves properly with body gels, shampoos, toothpaste, and other stuff. Plus put the obligatory deodorant on.
After around two hours we reunited, aiming at the pub, which was already full, so we had to change for Velvet Lotus, hoping Aisha would let us drink before opening.
- If Ki'rai asks her, she won't refuse - said Will, as we were walking there.
- You want to use a child? Shame on you! - Hailwic was outraged.
- I'm an adult! - pouted KI'rai.
- Of course, you are, my sweety - she responded to that.
If my little lizard could blush, I'm sure she would be doing just that right then, but she couldn't, and her skin remained unchanged, just the eyes got stuck, looking at the ground.
We approached the establishment. Zoë was on guard, with a knife and an apple in her hands, cutting bite-size pieces, and showing those in her mouth. Without a word, she just nodded her head towards the door, letting us pass. Ki'rai rushed to her, to give her a hug, while the rest of us got inside.
When we got to the main chamber, there was a bit of ruckus there. Band, with new instruments, was jamming, trying new stuff, and preparing for the performance.
The employees were changing some of the decore, with Aisha trying to stay on top of all the mess happening around.
Will approached her, with a big smile.
- He-hey!
- We are kinda busy here right now - she said immediately, rising a single eyebrow. - Let me guess... The pub is full, so you came here.
He just shrugged his shoulders. Aisha sighed.
- Just take a table in the corner - She shook her head, and waved her hand at him, like driving out an annoying fly.
- Thank you, oh goddess! - he replied.
The rest of us went to the furthest spot in the club, to not disturb the workers. Will brought some drinks from the bar, and a joyful time began.
- Now only plumbing and electricity, and we can really live here - said Boris.
- The plumbing can be done. For the electricity and fancy electronics, we would have to upgrade the device again - I responded to his words.
- Oh damn, I would love to watch a movie - said Nil.
- Even if we upgrade again at the most you will be able to look at your brand new TV. No content though. We don't have a broadcasting station, not to mention movies or anything.
- You are a party pooper, Peter - said Sanders, with visibly worse mood. - You gave me hope, just to take it.
- Sorry man. We need to open our own Hollywood first before there is anything to watch.
- Hey... Shouldn't we have more newcomers now, when the device is upgraded?- suddenly asked Will.
- Yep. Hatta is already doing something with a bunch of new people, that came after some of Blue's people died - I said.
- That was a heavy hit for him - said Boris.
- Hatta-san has plans of integrating new people better and helping them out so they would assimilate faster - said Nobuo. - We are covering more and more ground each month. Soon there will be plenty of crystals flowing through the city.
We all agreed to his words. I could see this on myself. We were really accelerating. This is even before I could gain momentum myself with my grand hunting plan.
The conversation stayed focused on the new people, as we started discussing how to help those who just found themselves in this strange world. It was fun and lasted hours, but eventually, we all left, shortly before the opening.
I went to get some rest, knowing that now I will only be focusing on getting stronger in preparation to search for Loistavadvaar.
The day came to an end with 150 645 629 points remaining on my account, and eighty-nine class points.
