He extended his left hand and flames exploded from the ground under my feet with a deafening crackling noise, creating a pillar of flames. I reacted to slow by shadow walking out, but the damage was minimal.
Without ruining my tempo I used a heal, and repositioned few times, closing the distance. He kept throwing the same thing at me but soon realized that it won't work, then his eyes changed. The iris became white-blue little lightning bolts struck from it.
That was just the beginning, as more of those started dancing all over his body, hitting the ground, and clearly traveling towards the hammer, which became enveloped by the electricity. I could hear the thunder above my head, gathering storm.
I didn't stop though, I even accelerated, finally activating my skills. The void essence started slipping into this world through the ground, creating those faint traces of smoke. The blade of my weapon burst into flames. My body also changed, fuzing with the shadow.
The first thunderbolt struck close to me, turning one of the statues into a cloud of sharp pieces, that were thrown everywhere. I avoided it by shadow walking, and I kept doing so, avoiding more of the lightning raining from the sky.
Then I landed my first hit, with the full power of my body. Our weapons clashed, creating a shockwave, that trashed the nearby art pieces, and made even the Titan - as I named the boss later - stumble on his feet.
I just repositioned again using shadow walk to not lose neither my balance nor the tempo. I landed and immediately went into a sprint, circling around the enemy, and sending out the flame birds. I didn't make them attack yet, just was creating the swarm.
The boss yet again picked up his game, sending more lightning my way. The same with pillars of fire which neither could hit me nor do anything to my living flames.
In this couple of seconds, the whole place got trashed. Pieces of stone were everywhere, some larger chunks also, but those were pretty rare. Only at the very edges of our little arena remained some intact pieces.
With enough birds, I was ready to launch my attack. I closed the distance, and attacked again from the air, swinging heavly. He was fast enough to block, but just as I shadow walked out, my birds came at him, creating a large chain explosion.
It shook the whole mountain, and the wave of heat forced me to close my eyes. When I finally could open the I saw the boss charging, with ruined clothes, and a couple of burnt marks, but that was all.
I was not gonna shy away from the frontal attack, and just as he raised his hammer to swing, I prepared my pudao to deflect. His hit was very strong, but missed, as I shadow walked behind, and swung at his legs.
This hit landed, his retaliation almost too, as he turned furiously almost trashing my body with his weapon. I repositioned, sending the rest of the birds at him. Another explosion shook the ground, for a moment even overpowering the sounds of thunder.
Titan emerged from the could of fire with traces of flame all over his body. The electricity was going crazy covering him like moving armor.
I knew that this time I have to do everything to void the next few attacks. I did my best shadow walking around, making him more furious, and waiting for openings. The very moment I noticed few, I send the bolts of raw energy at him.
Most missed, a few hit. The effect was minimal.
It became clear that if not for the shadow walk, I would be in serious trouble because of how tough that damn thing was. I could prolong this fight, maybe even for hours, or...
I started by creating more distance, as I knew I'm gonna need some time. I circled around him, using shadow walk, and slowly gaining more space. All that while still avoiding the raining thunderbolts, and the flames created by his magic.
Eventually, I stopped and closed my eyes for a solid second to concentrate. I gathered all the manna I had and focused it on a single spell using 'Scorch'. A magic circle appeared over Titan's head, grabbing his attention. It was rather big. Around three meters in radius.
The energy made the symbols and lines glow, throwing an orange light at his face. He was about to rush at me when I unleashed it, whispering to myself:
- Abracadabra motherfucker.
A bright light blinded me, as a column of concentrated fire struck down. When I finally opened my eyes, I needed a moment to get my vision back. Sadly I was afraid I might not have it, so I immediately used 'Eyes of the Void' and repositioned, just to discover that the boss is dead.
Where he used to stand, was a hole, going deep into the mountain. The stone just got evaporated. I tried to get close, but the heat was so immense, that I simply couldn't.
Somewhere in that hole was my crystal, but I just couldn't take it. There was no other option, but just to live it, to probably never be found again. This location was gonna get fixed by the Device by the next day.
I sighed, and shadow walked back to the city, to sell my score, and call it a day. A bit of sleep was a generous reward for my achievement, besides I felt kinda tired without all that mana my body was used to store.
I've earned 27 400 000 points from the stones I sold and immediately went to eat something. I was very hungry after all that running and fighting. Then I got a moment of relaxation in the bathhouse. After that was a good night's rest in my comfy bed.
The day came to an end with 1 697 316 969 points remaining on my account, and 81 class points.
