After a quick shower sponsored by my water magic, I went to get some food, and also buy a couple of upgrades.
I got some fresh burgers and coke with ice, then, after eating, started upgrading myself. First I went with finishing the 'Mana weaver' class, and unlocking 'Manipulator of Mana'.
Then I went after classes, 'Master of barriers', and 'Manipulator of Mana'. One third-tier class was two hundred class points, and one unlocked class of second-tier another hundred.
'Manipulator of Mana' gave me access to the following skills: 'Amplified mana regeneration II', 'Mana pool II', 'Raw mana control II', 'Raw mana manipulation II', 'Mana overcharge'.
The last one allowed me to quickly regenerate a lot of energy, depending on how much of it I was using, by making it flow in a certain way, and interacting with itself through this flow, which led to producing more energy. It was a Perpetuum mobile of some sort.
I upgraded every one of those skills to the sixth level, finishing the class and unlocking 'Overcharger'.
'Master of barriers' gave me access to the following skills: 'Create barrier III', 'Mana III', 'Barrier strengthening III', 'Berrier breaking III', 'Sealing III', Seal strengthening III', 'Advanced barrier manipulation II', 'Advanced seal manipulation II', 'Barrier combining'
'Barrier combining' allowed me to make a structure out of several barriers, that worked together, making the whole thing way stronger, harder to breach with raw power, and also increasing the difficulty of breaking such barriers using skills.
I upgraded every one of those skills to the sixth level.
Then I went with 'Weapon Grandmaster'. The class was useful, so I decided to push the skills a bit further. I picked 'Supreme weapon mastery', 'Peerless technique II', 'Power strike II', and finally 'Parry III' and got all of them to the seventh level.
I needed my close combat fighting skills to get stronger, since the power of magic heavily depended on amount of used mana, and I had plenty of that.
All of that diminished my number of points, but I still had plenty, and it was worth it. The next investments were way more pricy. I bought the last, eighth level of 'Shadow fusion III' for 10 000 000 000 points, and then the other four skills of the 'Schadow champion' class finishing int, and unlocking 'Arcshadow'.
I couldn't buy that class though, because the cost was 10 000 class points.
With the rest of the points, I decided to back and upgrade 'Create barrier III' to the eighth level. I did it because a thought appeared in my head that it might be useful in preventing the earth governments from taking control over our city.
Even without thinking too heavily on the matter, I knew that now I can make a complicated barrier that could stop certain objects from passing through it. But that matter needed still way more thinking, and testing first. Moreover, the possibility of protecting myself in the way the ghost from yesterday seemed kinda useful to me.
Overall, I used 66 585 554 000 points and 200 class points.
The Great One wasn't contacting me, so I decided to pay him a visit. He was, just like before, reading. This time from a book though.
- Morning - I said, coming inside.
I still couldn't get used to the light passing through those walls, even when they weren't translucent at all. It just was so bizarre to me.
- This is a dangerous endeavor, Peter. If you go today, you might die. We need to wait for the right opportunity. It will probably take few days. Don't worry, I'll contact you when I will see a clear possibility for you to hunt.
- So... I have a free day?
- Yes, but for now, please refrain from leaving this place if you can.
- Ok, but why?
- If you go to your friends, there is a chance the ghosts on the outside of the dome will follow you, and if you were thinking of going to your mother, then you also shouldn't. The fewer people see you out there before the path is open, the better. Trust me, with how much ruckus you already did out there, there will be enough unnecessary questions from your fellow humans.
- Ok...
I just left him. I didn't really know what to do with myself when I had so much free time. I ended up walking back to the device and admiring the underground city on my way. In the silver light coming from above, the jade looked really beautiful. It was kinda sad that this whole space was almost completely empty.
When I got to my destination, I just started browsing through items. I really wanted to listen to some music, so I bought a disk player and a few CD-s.
I used to be really into metal, so I got few albums, then I also bought a notebook and a pen. I just got this idea of maybe recording what happened to me. That's how this story you are reading now happened.
I put one of the disks into the player and pressed the right button. Then I found out I didn't have any batteries, so I had to buy those too. With that, I could finally listen to some heavy tune. I found myself a spot under a jade wall of nearby buildings and opened the notebook.
I tried to write the first word, but my mind got empty. It took solid few minutes of staring at the blank page to put the first words on the paper.
"I'm not sure how to start this. One day, or should I say night, you are laying in your bed with a head full of worries..." You know how it goes. You read those words probably a while ago, considering how much I wrote. There is still so much to add...
I spent the rest of the day doing just that, with few breaks to take care of other business, like food, and to stretch my legs.
Another day in Loistavadvaar came to an end with 1 636 647 060 regular points and 281 class ones.
