- Tihana should chose - said Yoo Dong-hyun, the host. - Since she has become our honorary guide to the city.
Kim Eun-seok quickly translated his words, and she went to pick one of the pieces of paper. I noticed a smile on her face, that she tried to hide by biting her lips. Even Tam in her hands seemed excited.
Members of the show and the guests had to get accustomed to him because nobody reacted to the fact he was literally emitting smoke.
My fake daughter after few seconds of thinking picked one of the cards. A Blue one, and brought it to Yoo Dong-hyun, who has opened it, and read it out loud.
- A song-off! Battle of songs!
Eun-seok quickly translated his words. Me and Nobuo looked at each other almost immediately sharing this moment of regret, and hoping that the two of us won't have to sing.
- In this mission, each team will sign a karaoke song, and the points they will earn will be added. The three first places will be rewarded with stickers. Three for the first place, two for the second, and one for the third. The rest gets nothing - explained the director. - Five teams with the least amount of stickers will get a punishment at the end of the whole competition.
I almost facepalmed, but I stopped my hand, and awkwardly put it back into my pocket. Then I looked at Tihana. She was smiling at me. It was a very nasty smile of triumph.
I wanted to wipe it off her face soo damn badly...
- Let's now go to the next filing spot - said the director, and the filming stopped for a moment.
We were brought to Wuxia's barracks. To a big room, that I had no idea even existed. Apparently, it was a social room where the soldiers sometimes hanged around or came to have a little break during the day.
There was a karaoke machine there. A coffee machine, a big-ass couch, and a TV with a gaming console.
There was actually enough space for us all, although not everybody could sit on the couch.
We gathered in our small teams and the filming started.
- OK everybody - said Yoo Dong-hyun - lets start. Our team will go first.
He started by picking some K-pop song and then started singing. People clapped, and joined him in the more catchy moments. Some Sparkle members even danced to the song, as they knew the choreography.
I couldn't enjoy it at all. I hated singing throughout my whole life, and now I was freaking forced to do it. I even started considering, just saying no, but that would make me look like a total jerk. All I could do in this situation was to throw some more daggers with my eyes at Tihana, who was smiling all the time and kept observing me.
I literally kept swearing to myself that I will get my revenge, and it will be sweet.
His whole team went on, including Eshe, and they all sang individually, with people joining for some parts of the songs. Sometimes it was the chorus, sometimes it was one particularly catchy part.
Then Him team stepped forward, and Martin sang first. I never knew that he could sing so good actually. His voice was naturally deep, but the things he could do with it were actually incredible. Not to mention the song. He picked some sea shanty, which made everybody join him shouting on top of their lungs.
Every team, one by one, had their moments, earning points. I didn't want to go, so we ended up being last. Both my teammates went ahead of me, and actually earned some good points, but the moment of shame approached. My turn.
If not for the skills that were allowing me to control my body really well, my hands would be probably shaking, as a was picking that damn song. I went with some old rock song that I thought I knew decently and butchered it to the point others felt awkward for me. Even Tihana stopped smiling.
People still clapped, and put their fake smiles on, which only made this moment worse for me. I was literally furious at my fake kid.
The end results were that Him-team won with 298 points. Champions behind them, because Sanders was actually a very good singer. I would probably enjoy his performance more, if not for the fact the I was so nervous about my turn. They got 273 points. The third position went to Wild cats with 271 points.
To compare this to my team score, we got 253 points. Only because my both teammates got almost maximum points each. We still placed last.
- Congratulations everybody - said the director. - It's time to pick the next mission.
He already had the cards prepared, so Tihana went to pick the next task. She went with a green piece of paper and brought it to Dong-hyun so he could read it out loud.
- Blow soccer! - shouted the host.
- The lungs of steel is a competition where in a three minutes time frame you have to blow a plastic ball out of a container filled with flour, and score a goal with it. The more goals your score, the better for your team. Tema with the highest amount of points will get the most stickers - the director explained the rules in Korean and then repeated them in English.
- Ok! - shouted Martin. - I already like it!
With those words, we were taken to another filming location in the barracks. They got a room especially prepared for that. It was completely empty with just one table. On it, there was a tray filled with flour, and a small pink ball buried in the white powder with only a little part sticking out.
In front of it, there was a small plastic football goal, our target.
People gathered inside the room and surrounded the table. The time for our second mission began. This one was clearly focused on the comical side.. It made me feel a bit better than that stupid singing competition.
