His robes fluttered in the wind as he aimed his palm at Shen Ling once more.
“I don’t believe you dare!”
She puffed up her chest in response to the challenge.
“Try me!”

D-D-Dum
The air shuddered around him as he drove his somatic essence furiously in his body.
In response to this, Yaomu Shou edged the blade ever closer till the cold steel rested on her soft palm. Any undulation would split the skin and cause beads of blood to flow, which was unacceptable.
Uncle Yan’s eyes narrowed as the energy Uncle Yan amassed continued to grow at a crazy rate. The power lurking in his body was bursting to get out!
Beads of sweat built atop his brow. It wasn’t because of his current excretion but because of this entire situation!
Yet Yaomu Shou never broke her gaze with him as she stared him down.
Phwip!
Her grip tightened as her muscles grew taut to make the cut!
“Div-”
“Fine!” Uncle Yan shouted. He retracted his hand and laid the power he was about to release to rest.
“Sighs…”
“Consider yourself tough this time,” he said helplessly as he descended with his head hung low.
“Hehehe,” Yaomu Shou giggled as she put the sword away and skipped to the side of Uncle Yan before taking his arm up in a swing to placate him.
“Do you not like Shou’er anymore, Uncle Yan?” she asked with a smile.
As he stared at this little demoness, he really couldn’t bring himself to hate her. Though she called him uncle, he wasn’t her true uncle, however; he watched her grow up and as such he treated her like his own child.
Because of this, he doted on her a lot and he knew how willful she could be. He just didn’t think that she had gotten so attached to these kids that she was willing to execute the Divine Decree.
If she did such a thing, and they then returned to the family, he was sure he and his colleague wouldn’t be able to escape punishment.
He then turned his gaze towards Shen Ling, who looked back at him warily. Would he attack her now that Yaomu Shou had put that sword away?
“Because the young miss has vouched for you, I will give you the benefit of the doubt regarding your lineage,” Uncle Yan finally announced.
When everyone heard this, they released a massive breath of relief. This person was obviously a powerful expert. There is no need for such an expert to lie about killing any and all of them when he had the power to easily do so.
He finally turned his attention to Long Di who was looking at him through half-closed eyes, “You have a highly sought-after commodity in your midst.”
Xiannu Liang shivered upon hearing this, knowing that he was referring to her.
Long Di was uncaring about this, but still asked, “Are you planning to steal her from us?”
Uncle Yan waved his hand dismissively before replying, “The treaty is still in effect. Plus, my life isn’t so short that I need to do such a heinous thing.”
“Treaty?” Long Di’s brows furrowed at this.
“You’ll come to learn of it soon enough. More importantly,” his gaze grew severe at the moment. “If what you said earlier turns out to be a lie, and you have put the ascension of the young miss in jeopardy because of… her,” he looked towards Yaomu Shou as he said this. “I will hunt you down and grant you fate worse than death.”
“Trust me… you’re the last person I would want as a yandere,” saying this, Long Di went back to sleep. The exhaustion had done a number on him.
When Yaomu Shou saw Long Di go back to sleep after all that happened, she thought to herself, ‘He’s either courageous or stupid for going to sleep when the person who tried to kill his friend is still here. Then again, Uncle Yan never left, so there’s no difference. Speaking of Uncle Yan never leaving…’
“Oh yeah, Uncle Yan. Can you do me a favour, please?” Yaomu Shou put on a cute pouty expression when she asked this.
“Oh, and what would that be?” he asked with a smile.
“Can you slaughter the entire Zhen family for me?” she asked innocently.
Uncle Yan’s expression turned dark when he heard this, “Is it for him!?” he pointed a quivering finger at Long Di in anger.
Yaomu Shou started to whistle nonchalantly, neither denying nor confirming his questioning accusation.
“Why do you want to help that half-dead human thing!?” he asked.
“Hey! That’s racist!” replied Yaomu Shou.
“Oh really? Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to offe--... why the hell am I apologizing!? I don’t give a damn!” Uncle Yan said, still wondering what happened.
“Can’t a guy who nearly had ⅕ of his existence wiped away, which would result in his very being no longer being a thing, get some sleep around here? I tell you, people, these days. Shen Ling, I don’t want to ask this of you, but as I have no choice can you carry my body to the carriage, please?”
“Sure,” Shen Ling smiled.
“Hold on there,” Feng Yu said with her hands on her hip.
“I could understand it earlier, seeing as there was no choice before. However, now that things have calmed down a bit, I have to say, it’s not appropriate for Shen Ling to carry you.”
“Why?”

“Well… uh… i-it’s not appropriate because she’s a woman,” Long Di’s deadpan question caught her off guard but she finally formulated a response.
“So because she’s a woman, she can’t carry me?” Long Di asked once more.
“Right!”
“You’re a pretty basic person, aren’t you?”
“You’re basic! Your whole family is basic!” Feng Yu was red with anger.
“… You were determined to prove me right, weren’t you?”
“You…!”
“Hey, Tie Lang?” he called for one of the boys, no longer paying attention to Feng Yu.
“Yeah, senior brother?” Tie Lang came over beside Long Di.
“Since your gender is male, could you please carry me to the carriage?”
“Bite me!” Feng Yu barked at him.
“My, my, my,” Long Di shook his head. “The basic-ness is strong in this one,” he replied as Tie Lang slung his body over his shoulder like a burlap sack.
He just hung there motionless, his arms drooping down like any other dead body slung over the shoulder of a teenager.
Though Uncle Yan was currently conversing with Yaomu Shou, he kept an eye on Long Di the entire time. ‘This child is already showing signs of recovery from having his existence wiped out!? Incredible! It must be due to that physique, but I have never seen nor heard of such a thing! I need to look into this after dealing with the young miss’s request!’
A few minutes later, everything was wrapped up. Yaomu Shou’s elders took the body of the Nitu demon with them and disappeared and the carriage with the Super Donkey was all prepped up and ready to go.
Just as Yaomu Shou boarded the carriage, she looked at Zi Yu with a smile. “How did it feel not having a backbone?”
Zi Yu looked down with shame. It did look bad when everyone else but her stepped out to stand side-by-side with Shen Ling to defend Long Di.
“Stop,” the impassive voice of Long Di rang out. “None of that.”
Yaomu Shou protested, “But she-”
“Has only been with us for less than a day,” Long Di finished for her. “If she did stand up side-by-side with the rest of you like the power rangers, I would have thrown my currently dead cat-like body against her in a bid to kick her trifling ass off the carriage.”
“Wait, why’s your body described as a dead c-”
“You really think you’re asking the important questions, don’t you?” Long Di asked, looking at Yaomu Shou.
The latter shrugged in response and said nothing else.
Zi Yu looked at Long Di gratefully. What Long Di made sense. It was just that if she argued against it herself, it would have made her seem even less of a courageous person. Of course, Long Di wasn’t looking at it that deep, he was just looking at it like a normal reasonable person would. So basically everyone NOT in a cultivation world.
“Are we going to be heading towards the Earth flame?” Feng Yu asked after taking her place with the reins in hand.
“Yep,” Long Di said after closing his eyes. “Yaomu Shou, guide her along for me, will ya?”
“Sure thing!” she answered.
Boom!
The powerful hooves of the Super Donkeys dug into the ground, creating a powerful explosion as they sped away into the distance.
…
Shu! Shu! Shu!
Half a day later, several figures showed up where the battle between Diqiu Jian and Long Di took place. They stared at the scene of battle with a gloomy expression.
One of them took a walk around before bending down to take up a bit of soil he pinched between his fingers. As he felt it, his expression grew worse.
“Fourth elder is dead.”
“What!?”
“How could this be!?”
“Impossible!”
Different exclamations rang out from the other figures.
The one who was surveying the land raised his hand, silencing the others.
“This complicates things immensely. Diqiu Ye, carry this news back to the clan.”
One of them wordlessly stepped out of the group, cupped his fist, then left.
“The rest of you, follow me,” he ordered.
“Are we going to give chase?” one of the others asked.
The one who appeared to be in charge shook his head, “Whatever beasts they’re using are too far and too fast for us. Tracking is impossible at the moment. Nevertheless, I have heard rumors about this child that might be of some use to us. You’ll understand soon. Now let’s go.”
